Given how PGI wants to play it safe with IS Omnis, I can understand why they want to reuse assets like the Nova into the Black Hawk KU for example:

Arctic Fox - IS Kit Fox
Firestarter Omni - Taller Firestarter
Blackjack Omni
Gauntlet - Omni Bushwhacker
Perseus - Omni Orion

bought the black hawk for novelty and regretted decision. if you want to sell me another one make it a new mech.

celestials maybe.

I would like to see the brigand. A 25 ton IS mech that's closer to being an IS version of the Mist Lynx. Maybe PGI can do a double feature pack and add the Commando IIC in the same pack and that way both factions gain a solid performer in the 25 ton bracket that the other was missing. Also I remember PGI saying Lights didn't sell well so doing a double feature might help incentivize more people to buy.

I tried proposing that for the Stinger and Wasp and got nowhere. I eventually made it happen with the Hatamoto and Charger I made, and in the end, it was more work and headache than it was worth.

A double feature is also double the work - maybe less if they reuse assets, but anyway this is more work. All that for a standard price without the certainty they will sell more, because if someone won't pay for a mech they won't pilot, why would they pay for two mechs they won't pilot?

That being said: WE WANT NEW LIGHT MECHS !!!!
There are paying customers for light mechs, don't let us down !!!

I'm predicting a Firemoth release around when MW5 Clans drop. As for the Chonky boy it really depends if it's another IS/Clan hybrid release similar to the Bullshark. If it's Clan I can think of the Kraken/Turkina/Kingfisher. If IS and they are going to continue IS Omnimech releases then the Sunder or Templar?

The problem is that developing two independent 'Mechs is the same development cost as...well, developing two 'Mechs. Bundling them together doesn't mean they take less time and effort to produce. Unfortunately, given the way MWO works, medium and light 'Mechs will simply never move as many units as Fattie McFattleboys because huge overtonned 'Mechs with too much gun are easier for bad players to put up "I (feel like I) helped!" numbers, on top of the community-wide stigma against small/fast 'Mechs.

This is honestly a big issue with a video-game adaptation of the tabletop game. it is enormously easier for Catalyst to introduce heaps and heaps and heaps of new 'Mechs because all they have to do is introduce some new art, maybe make a single production run of cheap minis, and boom - new TRO and scads of dollars. But developing a new 'Mech in MWO that's worth purchasing when most of the existing players already have hundreds of existing 'mechs that cover every conceivable niche is hellaciously more difficult. Especially in the lighter weight ranges where there's significantly fewer viable build options due to single (relatively) large weapon builds being largely worthless in MWO. A light 'mech with a single PPC or AC/5 or the like is a total waste of pace in MWO where in TT it's simply a different kind of threat.

Based on what Tiyos said it could be one of these mechs since he never specified if the tech type was IS or Clan. Given how PGI are looking for Clan Invasion era mechs for Mechwarrior 5: Clans, its likely that these would be the candidates.

IS Side
Chonkers: Imp - Despite this Assault mech being made by the Clans, it was made with IS technology, so lots of the variants would come paired with IS weapons and equipment.
Gunslinger - Another Assault Mech that is a Clan Invasion era mech. It is certainly a big boy with lots of weapons.

Fastboi: Mongoose - The Mech itself already has good speed going to 126 kph. The MON-76 variant has MASC to allow it to go to quicker speeds, especially with Speed Tweak.

Clan Side
Chonkers: Kingfisher - It is the only type of Clan Assault OmniMech that has a STD Engine, something that other Clan Mechs don't have.
Turkina - It is a popular Clan OmniMech associated with Clan Jade Falcon. It offers a heavy weapon platform companion to the fast and agile Executioner in the 95-ton Clan Mech slot.
Both of these mechs could be used for MW5: Clan DLC when you think about it. The Kingfisher could be for a Clan Ghost Bear DLC and the Turkina would be suited for a Clan Jade Falcon DLC.

Fastbois: FireMoth - The Fire Moth is a popular mech known for it's speed, unfortunately the CryEngine can't handle its speed with MASC.
Locust IIC - The Locust IIC would be a safer alternative to the Fire Moth, so it would make sense for that to be in the game.

I would also say the Fire Falcon is another option with alot of variants to from prime to L, it fast going 129kph. So that's a solid option and fills out the 25 ton shortage we have.
