If your stated goal was to increase time to kill why would you reduce health of mechs? Especially clan mechs which are far less tanky than their IS counterparts.

They didn't

Crit HP is different to Structure and Armor (what you would typically consider HP)
The Crit HP is exclusive to Crits, and Crits will still be dealing the same 15% bonus damage.
There will be no difference in TTK in regards to Crits, or normal damage taken

What you may or may not see is weapons dying more quickly, or more slowly. Certain Clam weapons (and Spheroid 1 slot lasers) were decreased to 7.5 HP
This means they'll die the same to Gauss Rifles (one at a time) and PPCs (same percentage, up to 3)
Lasers and MGs will Crit them out faster, however.

Some Dakka got marginal increases, and will no longer be 1 shot from Gauss Rifles, and rarely from PPCs (they can still do up to 22.5 CritDam @3%, so impossible to 1 shot an AC20 at 25cHP)

SRM4 Spread increased to 4 (from 3.5).

Is it documented anywhere what "spread = 4" really means? 4 meters of spread over every x meters of travel?

Radius, in Meters, IIRC

So PGI have noticed the IS vs. Clan component health imbalance only after three years, even though players were talking about it during those three years?

Bravo, PGI. Bravo. Can we dare hope for balanced Endo/Ferro for both sides, next?

LFF will be so laughable for Clam-Spheroid balance if it isn't adjusted (and simultaneously buffing the ever bad isFF)
Same 7 slots as the Clam FF
Under a third of the benefit
6% VS 20% weight savings

It would be absurd if PGI does that.
No, Potatos, "But Clam Mechs cannot change!"
*Laughs in KDK3*

Yeah crits from front loaded weapons do full damage as long as the shot does even a little damage to structure. Good news is I bet you were hit with a PPC or Gauss which are both being nerfed (Because situations like yours happen too frequently with those guns). The UAC/5 has 10 hitpoints and the Guass/PPC will only do 7.5 damage per crit roll. So it will be much less likely to be completely crit off the bat now with those weapons.

If he's talking about the PTS, there was also the issue of Crits rolling 100% of the time (and often 2-3x)

That's hopefully fixed
As well as the Gauss never Critting

Cool!

From inside the cockpit or outside? i guess ill find out the 21.

There's also a visual effect from the outside, apparently.
Not sure I've noticed it in live, but a cloud appears around the mech

Which makes me wonder, are we also getting the Clam Cockpit blue Rader Derp ping this patch? It looked prettier than the white

I'm not seeing specific values. Anyone know what something like a LBX20's health will be? How about the LBX10? I like those weapons on specific builds, but they get taken out so easily. I don't think I've ever shot all of my LBX20's ammo before it was destroyed... Usually by 1 touch (frequently rear torso) after the armor is gone...

I like the looks of these changes, for the most part. Crit chances with targeting computers + gauss/ppc has been pretty brutal, I think this will be a nice change.
I'm very sad to see a nerf to SRM4s, but do understand the reasoning; it's the reason why I consistently took 4's over Artemis 6's on mechs with more than three hard points. I do hope SRM brawling comes back into vogue in the near future, though.

Gonna sound real scrubby... but what is this ping you speak of? I have seen it mentioned before, but I don't use Radar derp that often so I haven't noticed it.

Agreed, get rid of all quirks and nerfs for both IS and Clan and just have one Trinary vs two IS companies. And no, Clans are not beholden to Zellbrigen when fighting unworthy IS pilots who do not honor Zellbrigen (after Tukayyid).

You filthy Casual...

When you equip Radar Derp, you get both a sound, and your cockpit light Flashes (very faintly) when you get targeted.

It's a very useful feature for Scouts, or when you're being scouted (don't press R in Comp matches at first sight, you've just alerted them to LoS)
On the PTS, the Spheroid light ping stayed the same colour, but noticeably brighter, while the Clam ping changed from the same white, to a Blue, also much brighter.

Easiest example I can find
https://youtu.be/TJHnTty2_AI?t=50s

He pops a UAV, and notice the flashing light in my cockpit? That's the Radar Derp alerting me to being targeted (but by a UAV, not a mech)

As an IS Warrior I don't adhere to obscure rituals of primitive societies like the Clans. The word "honor" has no place when speaking of those enemies. Despite all the advances of their tech caste the Clans are in the end just that ... ******** societies with crippling concepts of a false honor and a nice little fascist tone.

And I suppose the Clans just sort of have to grin and bear it?

I mean, I get the point. Lighter, more compact gear means we can pack in more of it. But then there are mechs like the Adder that have a very limited number of weapon hardpoints. Or the Warhawk that makes one side-torso unavailable for modification. Or that Clan mechs run so hot that many builds don't make use of all hardpoints.
this nerf to clans wouldn't be so bad if our armor was where it should be (i.e. better) Crack the egg and out spills the juice. But hey, why wouldn't advanced technology of a battle hardened group of bioengineered super soldiers and engineers be more flimsy.. So as it stands, clans run hotter, are more flimsy, not faster enough to take note, and barely mentionable improvement on armored durability, slightly better damage per shot but longer rate of fire and time needed to stay on target to do full damage... why do we have clan mech again?

Let me make it easier for you to understand why this doesn't work by blowing it out of proportion. Counterstrike. 6 guys with ak47's (clan) vs 12 guys with barretta's (IS) and you cant pick up AK if you kill an AK guy, which side do you think everyones going to want to play on ?

Oh Wait... So we call items components now? And we call pods components?

You seriously need to consider a solution to get consistency in your terms.

They couldn't even correctly call invasion maps mode "siege mode" for the loot bag events write up less than a month after they renamed it siege until I brought it to their attention. dont expect pgi to get all on 1 page.

The disparity between Clan and Inner-Sphere tech will not be that great with the Civil War tech upgrade and with their superior numbers the IS side could win if they used superior tactics and chose their Mechs wisely.

Clan armor is exactly as it is in TT, because Clans have the same maximum armor limits for mechs as IS do in TT.
The difference is that Clan ferro only takes 7 slots while giving 20% more armor per ton, while IS ferro only gets 12% more armor per ton while having to pay 14 slots.

Your other complaints are similarly false:
Clans do not run hotter
Clan mechs are on average, significantly faster than IS mechs.
Clans have significantly greater firepower; a Clan laser vomit build can actually do damage faster than a comparable IS build, despite longer Clan beam durations.

Uh no, the disparity would be truly massive, especially once people realise Clans win most of the time (whether or not it is due to Clans being OP or simply competitive players choosing Clans and carrying their teams).

When the side that needs less players has the most players, the system is completely broken.

AND NOW THE GODS COME DOWN TO CHANGE THE VERY FABRIC OF REALITY FOR THE THOUSANDTH TIME.

REALITY WILL CONTINUE TO CHANGE SO YOU WILL PAY US MORE MONEY TO KEEP PLAYING.

YOUR MECHS WILL BECOME UNLESS SO YOU MUST BUY MORE BETTER LATEST MECHS.

THE BEATINGS WILL CONTINUE UNTIL MORAL IMPROVES.

WRONG

Clam armour is identical to Spheroid armor
A point of damage is a point of damage

It's not until you get to the more advanced armor (hardened) which modifies armor caps

You're just a Clam whiner, who refuses to admit his robots are superior

Go ahead and show me how much better you do in Spheroid robots compared to my superior Clam Gundams.

You cannot, because GodQuirks were removed. Just because you're Terribad does not mean Clam robots are bad. It's the pilot

Hell, even that armor isn't any better for Clans; it behaves exactly the same for both Clan and IS mechs (probably because it is an IS invention that was copied by the Clans).

The only advanced armor that actually improves protection that is an advantage for Clans is Ferro-Lamellor, which IS doesn't have an equivilant of.
And that stuff doesn't become mass-production standard until something like 3085-3090.

I am not talking about the current population of FW. Also, do you realize that a Trinary is 15 Mechs while two IS companies consist of 24 Mechs. I would even go a step further and say that IS should have a higher tonnage limit than clans, enough that they could field 3 assaults for every one Clan assault. Also the rewards should be adjusted so that the rewards for winning as IS are significantly better than winning as Clans.

Can't sell our new inner sphere weapons if the clans are still a thing. I am so tired of being manipulated by PGI.

I'm a lorenerd, so I'm well away of both Clan and IS force organisation.

Further, rewards will do little more than encourage newbie/less experienced players to play IS, because the experienced and highly skilled players aren't playing for rewards.
As a result, that would cause a larger skill disparity between Clans and IS than already exists.
