Several times this weekend I've had enemies type homophobic and homosexual-related insults over chat. I've also heard two racial comments over voip during my time playing MWO. I reported all these people for chat abuse and voip abuse, and will report any comment that sounds racist or discriminatory.

I honestly hope PGI bans these players from the game. It is, after all, 2017. Still thinking its acceptable or funny to call someone ''f*****' or to use 'gay' as a suitable synonym for 'inadequate' or 'disappointing' is ridiculous. We need to evolve past this kind of ''I was just making a joke so its okay to say these things'' mentality. People who insist on using these terms are (at minimum) 20 years behind the times.

On a more positive note, 5 incidents in the 13 months I've been playing isn't that bad. Thank you to the 99.99% of you who keep this game clean and classy. I'm grateful our community is mature enough to make these kinds of immature behaviors a rarity.

Thanks for reading! I look forward to playing with any and all respectful players, regardless of age, self-identified gender, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, culture, etc.

Racism is one thing, but to try and censor every little thing that people find offensive is ridiculous. If you are that sensitive maybe turn off voip and disable chat.

I'm annoyed a great deal by homophobic language, but also, this is a game about us murdering people in giant war machines, with ties to a fictional universe that involves mass genocide. Pretty sure bad language isn't really that worst thing in the world here. Just report, mute, and move on, no need to make a forum post about it.

Last night an individual opened up with, "listen all you (the N word)". I promptly muted him and reported him. Unfortunately, I've heard PGI doesn't actually ha e a way to monitor VoIP (no recordings) so unless someone was recording the match themselves, I doubt anything will come of the reports.

Text chat they can actually check though.

haha that was actually one of the racial comments I reported months ago (exact same guy i'm sure cuz that's exactly what happened).

I've only done it twice, but that might have been one of those circumstances where a TK was justified. You could have even doubled down on it with something along the lines of: "Oh my god I am so sorry! Your casual racism got in the way of my weapons test." Sometimes ya gotta break the rules to do the right thing.

HAHA true, evolution has forced us to become very sensitive to each other's feelings. When the temperature forces you into close quarters with other people for 8 months of the year, politeness is required to keep the birth rate higher then the mortality rate

go on csgo or any other game for like 5 minutes and you'll hear every type of racism and other crap. block them and play the game. Literally every single other game with viop you'll hear it at varying levels, though this game is pretty low compared to most. Try not being offended by having something between your legs

So, in other words, they did what the Native Americans did -- allow in foreigners who would one day make them near extinct.
