Protecting Mr Potato Head is just annoying, as you cannot know which route he is going to take until it's too late, and your Spud compratiots may or may not push, whichever side you're on.

The path Mr Potato takes should be an easy addition to the battlegrid, but we've not gotten that QoL feature in the months it's been here. I genuinely do not enjoy the mode.

Fun maps, not too dark, good visibility, fast action...but we see Grim (poorly balanced), Forest (damn that visibility), and Frozen so very often
Ignoring the fact the FC & FC are inferior versions to the old ones (#PGIPLZ), I have played so many maps and modes I simply do not enjoy, it ruined my enjoyment of trying to play Shooty Stompy Robots

I do not enjoy the newest additions to the game...
I'd almost like the option to opt out of Escort, because then I win on two fronts. No more Mr Potato Head, and I also get to win the Map Lottery more often, seeing the good, small maps, more than the large, poorly designed maps.


Domination is at least Skirmish in a Circle...until the last Reds go to hide and protect their Kd, but your allies stay in the circle, making you unable to play Shooty Stompy Robots...


Escort limits map choices.

The problem indirectly is that Escort isn't really compatible with certain maps due to size... but then again, PGI can't figure out how to make Domination work on Crimson Strait.

It's totally Lostech.

It's a lot worse on Alpine.. Then again, everything is.

I agree with you, base rushing (whether or not its my team or the other team) to end a match quick is frustrating. No chance to shoot mechs, no damage, less C-bills, no fun.

Conquest is barely bearable on it. It's not like we'll use 50% of the map anyways (I mean, PGI made it hueg and all).

Except that wouldn't be IP theft for a game mode especially given how both are made by two different companies yet have the same mode, or maybe both are big enough that they didn't feel like that would get them anywhere but I doubt it.

Luckily there are more people that actually enjoy combat then there are folks such as yourself. But I guess if you are not able to acquire the skills neccessary to be decent at combat, your approach could work.

Event let us play a bit more Escort than usual but it's still hard to complete the event because Escort is not showing up enough because not all map offer it.

But OP is right, why don't we know the path VIP will use? It seems the dropship know where to grab the VIP though!

Also MM should count how many Defend vs Attack for each player to better balance this because 9/10 I get to Defend. It's a good thing in a way since Defend seems to win more but that prove Attack looks harder.

It was nice when we could choose mode. Were they afraid of a mode not being popular to remove this? For sure it would be much easier to complete this kind of event if we could select mode. Easier here also mean faster so great for players limited in play time.

To me, the solution is really simple: get rid of both map and game mode voting. By doing so, maps and game modes can be paired where appropriate and the distribution of such pairs can be controlled either manually or automatically.

I don't use fullscreen and I rarely crash with the game (because redownloading pak files on patch day does miracles or something).

I despise escort, not because of the mode itself; but the terrible maps (for brawling) that I always seem to play it on.....

How to fix Escort? My idea would be that the defending team would see the route lined out as it moves to the drop/pickup zone while looking out your cockpit and you should also see it in the map as well. That way, you and your team can plan accordingly to defend it while it's on it's way. I also agree it should be able to defend it's self with weapons to make it harder as it's way to easy to kill it as it is.
