I killed 5 mechs, 3 lights and 2 Med, in a match last night yet only did 275dmg....Yeah pulse lasers are killing machines but I felt a bit cheated. I guess it comes down to, I'd rather have an epic fight verse heavier mechs then a frustrating fight vs a whole bunch of lighter mechs. They werent the best pilots, a lot of them turned their backs to me and I simply alpha'd them.

Mogs

And then there are those matches where I manage to sneak around behind the enemy with Marauder BH with AC20 and 5 medium lasers and kill four enemy mechs by coring out their backs and only get 4 kills with under 400 damage.

II shouldn't be penalized for having superior aim and possitioning!

(Does that count as a humblebrag? did I do it right? )

Remove them from combat game modes/create better game modes or change rewards so that damage isnt so important on match score.

LOL

Yea, this is answer. For sure...

If its so easy to kill them (you said one alpha) then why do you think you deserve a bucket of cbill for doing something you find easy?

Sounds like you want your cake and you wanna eat it too!!

Yes, the scoring in this game is screwed.

Pretty good match, pretty good damage, running premium time:

~200K and 1300XP. Huh. Okay.

Here's a match where I dropped a lucky arty, and a well placed UAV and did nothing else other than some running around following a disco:

~162K and 3500XP. For doing not a whole hell of a lot but looking at things.

OP: "I hate lights because they are too easy to kill."

HAHAHAHAHAHAH! This is too perfect, and true.

Because people keep stating all mechs are equal in the eyes of balance. Mech A should beat Mech B with pilot A having superior skills. If that is the case, then kills should matter more than damage.

You need to inflict damage in order to get kills.

There is of course a difference between having a large amount of sloppy damage and kills versus having "efficient" low damage per kill, but at the end of the day you have to deal damage to kill stuff.

I ignore lights most of the time because is not worth my time to engage them unless they are threatening a high priority teammate.

If there are medium or lights that want to go get 'em, I'll definitely let them have at it. But I'm often in Charlie, and in QM we're often on our own, you know.

What I'd really like is some sort of score modifier for the pilot's tier of each Kill/KMDD. I'm not sure exactly how that would work, but it seems to me that bringing down a better pilot should pay out better experience. Might even be a good way to cut down on seal-clubbing.

Don't worry, buddy 'ol pal. When the Skill Tree drops you'll probably see even fewer lights than you already do. Quirk Removal + Agility Decoupling + Resize + [stuff I'm probably forgetting] = Less light mechs around to inconvenience you.

Nonsense. According to some folks, through the careful application of chaos theory, space magic and PGI's promised constant observation and data driven corrections to "base line values" on an ongoing basis; a mech like the Spider Anansi or even a Myst Linx could very well be the next meta in the post skill tree nirvana. Kodaks and Warhammers will fall before the might of a properly noded out Anansi! Quirks will not save you from the Myst Linx meta fury!

Or, ya know, you are absolutely, 100% correct and that mechs that are crap now, will be crap in the new system, especially when those crap mechs are losing their quirks, but Russ nor anyone from PGI seems concerned about this little issue.

EDIT: why does the iPad Pro auto correct "L y n x" to Lind. It had no problem with "Linx". WTF?

There is a very easy fix for this. We just give lights and mediums huge structure/armor quirks on every component. Just like how a lot of heavies and assaults have big agility quirks for some reason. So since we have heavies with ~60% agility quirks we can give lights and mediums ~+25 armor on every component. Problem solved!

LMAO that would be incredible to try and fight a locust with lets say, 20+more structure. It would be the fastest stick ever.

EDIT:
forgot they have CT mounted energy hardpoints. OMG that would be annoying as ****!

You cant give them more firepower without breaking them. Game modes is key, not more firepower. You cant make them bigger or mechs like the Jenner would be one shot every game.

.

game modes does nothing if we allow map/mode voting. since all that will get picked is domination and skirmish anyway for the majority of matches.

All mechs are fun, well most anyway. Youre missing out if you havent spent some good time at both ends of the scale. Going from a Kodiak to a Locust and back again is very refreshing. I get bored too easily I must change mechs and builds every other game lol.
