The thought process varies.
Some have argued many of these players exhibit Dunning Kruger effect, https://en.wikipedia...93Kruger_effect, while I have personally seem some good players that tend to be toxic because they have very good skills in all areas of gaming (map awareness ,mechanics... etc..) and they see everything playing out on the battlefield and other players can't see what they see nor respond as fast, thus they get frustrated very quickly.
This may be a bit of an abstract comparison for most people, but I always find it similar to some scientist who has studied physics or mathematics deeply for decades, and then tries to teach it to someone brand new. The veteran will see the "deeper" truths in all the theory he teaches and may even visually see "atoms" as making people up instead of actually seeing "people" because he has been "red pilled" on this topic for so long.
Needless to say, there really isn't any excuse for attacking teammates and it makes people play worse most of the time, so we should all , as humans, despite our skill level, learn to control ourselves and behave properly in game.

I've heard it said that the very smart person is the one who intuitively understands "deep things" and the interactions. A Genius, is the person who can explain those deep things and interactions so that the common person can understand.
One version of the concept is this quote: “Genius is the ability to reduce the complicated to the simple.” C. W. Ceran
another
"If you can't explain it to a six year old, you don't understand it yourself." – Albert Einstein
Suffice it to say, enough of those "really good players" IMO, don't really "see things on the atomic level" as much as they would like others to think. (Some certainly do, but a goodly number are simply good twitch players who are really good at aping the true movers and shakers, who are a hell of a lot rarer)
