2LBX10 or UAC10 (if you don't mind the heat), 2 SPL (or er smalls if you need some extra wiggle room), 3SRM6 w/Artemis. Can't do that on other Gyrs, along with the dual Gauss, 4xMPL or LPL +3 med combos. The D can do a few funky builds that makes it worth retaining imho, even if just for fun.

Beyond that, yup, still buying 3; I'm not expecting the Skill Tree until the Timeline update (likely after, because, sales and all that) after the delay; that's still a nice bit of time to run stuff that could really use being elited, and enough time to build up the c-bills to do so. I've still got 2 more Huntsman to snag, and after that a couple more Gargoyles and a couple more Myst Lynx to polish my eliting projects off, and just finished 3 linebackers (which I'll be keeping).

For the mechs that I like I find it very easy to grind the XP out for 3 variants. On the other hand I have always struggled to bring myself to grind the mechs I dont like so much, let alone getting up to 3 variants.

With the proposed changes it makes me have to worry less. I wouldnt hold your breath for that skill tree though.

Not if it puts me over a certain heat threshold. It is not on my radar if it will produce more heat than I prefer. Not going to waste funds on something I will not use.

So you know for a fact that you'll never want to mount a laser in the CT of your Night Gyr... and you know this will still be true even after all the new weapons that come out shortly, and will also be true irregardless of PGI's future balance decisions...

... and thus you're willing to save 430,000 C-Bills by buying the Night Gyr B instead of the D, knowing that at a later date you will never want the Night Gyr D and thus will never have to spend another 15,000,000 C-Bills buying it to replace your Night Gyr B.

Well, okay. You do you.

Are we talking cbills, cash or both?

I bought more actually.(cbills)
I just bought one mech of three different chassis i dont really want(right now). Because of the sale and in anticipation of not needing more with the new skill tree. So ill have them for when im more bored than usual. Otherwise these should be the last mech purchased with cbills till 3067. Could be some basic preorder in between or heroes upgrade but its not a done deal yet.

once the tree hit:
Maybe as a side effect ill buy less mech variant but only when buying with cbills. Cash purchase arent affected by that since you dont chose each variant you get and you even get extra variant. This should only affect cbills and mc heroes purchase. However getting more mech increases the time needed to grind and the "in between time" you buy new mech.

If it takes twice as long to master them or even more it will make me hold off on buying more(cash and cbills) till i have those i buy and already have to an acceptable level. The end result could be that the time between mech bought be much longer. For cbills purchase: weeks rather than buy 3 one night and have them all basicd the same night and starting elite the next. For cash: Much longer because you end up with more mech to grind. Grinding the same mech longer will have it's side effects. Like getting tired of the game sooner, going back to a mech i already own or taking another break. My MWO playtime is like a net now, it's full of holes, i keep falling off. It seems like im always on break from playing the game. Too many small annoying things add up.

All in all, everyone will need less mech, have less time for new mech and be needing all our cbills for new tech.

No weapons in the CT is my build philosphy. I'm not a hoarder, I'm not the type to buy things just in case I find a use for it sometime in the future.

The NTG-B is a missile boat with laser hardpoints in the CT, not ma style. I purchased the NTG-A because of the hardpoints I prefer. I did not buy a NTG-A to save C-Bills. Like I said before, buying the NTG-B would be a waste of C-Bills.

Even if the new skill tree comes out, it will be months. So it's either suffer for months without mastered new mechs or bite the bullet and buy 3. Well, in months I can save up for 3, so may as well just do it.
