The wait was a bit long but I was able to get 2 matches in. Yea sucks, but the only ones to blame is the community that doesn't participate.

- Have nearly 7-10 match. But yes... waiting a bit long even on 8vs8... And games too short (like all you base belong to... sorry. Base just killed to ashes).

Should have thought that one through, instead of posting in frustration.

The PTS is for community feedback.

I'm not "posting in frustration". Frustration is my first feedback. With a playerbase we have PTS cannot get stable 8x8 matches - twice as demanding in population as 4x4, not to mention the burnout of dedicated people after the previous PTS.

This PTS must have some incentive to play - whether it is injections to live accounts or at least some schedule to get guaranteed matches. It is simply no brainer.

I would really like to give it a try. But as a space poor casual with limited time, hundreds of Mechs and the most probably expensive skill tree changes coming, i simply "cannot afford" it to not play the event where MC and CB, which i desperately need, are given away en masse.

So please PGI, if you want more players testing your stuff (i mean, you worked hard for it, right? You want it to be tested in order to work best, right?), do not make PTS-sessions during events! Especially not during events like this one. Really, it's just basic scheduling 101...

And another please: do not assume that results created and conclusions drawn from 4vs4 or 8vs8 will also apply to a 12vs12-environment aswell. It could skip everything (hell, it already has cost us several maps because they resulted in being to small).

Why waste my time testing something on PTS during bonus rewards on LIVE lol........

Why cant you make a reward like loot bags on pts on a https://mwomercs.com/PTStournaments page, that the loot bag rewards go to the live account, cant be that fkn hard to program ........

Why in gods name is anyone going to care about
"
Retrieving a Fuel Cell

• 10XP and 500 C-Bills

Installing a Fuel Cell

• 50XP and 1,500 C-Bills"

When it exposes you to enemy fire putting your mechs life in danger.......

those rewards for Fuel cell work need increasing enormously to a point where it earns more cbills easily in a match that 450 damage (with kmdd's and killing blows and component destructions) by doing a few fuel cell trips, otherwise people will just ignore them and play the map exactly like assault.

Buildings obviously need more health from other peoples comments for 12v12 QP

This NEEDS to be put into Faction play rotation to replace Skirmish, with buildings Quadruple whatever you increase them to for 12v12 QP.

You want people to play an objectives game someone has to give P.I. the boot with his cbills rewards reductions which only harm the play for objectives game.

Hell, winning by doing objectives in ALL modes needs increasing.

With the skill tree it seems we might get 2 strikes per player resulting in 24 arty/airstrikes per team. Building health should be adjusted accordingly. Just saw a vid where a Locust with 4x SPL and 2x MG brought down buildings with ease in no time. PGI is putting themselves in a balancing nightmare with a new skill tree, new tech and new game mode coming out roughly the same time but different enough to not be able adjusting everything to another from the get go...

"When powered, the Jamming Tower will issue a jamming signal, extending in a raius roughly half-way between the Tower and the Fuel Cell Generators, to counteract Enemy radar and targeting systems. This Jamming signal is perpetually active for as long as the Tower has power (2 minutes per Fuel Cell)."

Is this going to be another Game Mode that makes Active Probes useless? ECM can still be effective under Radar Tower, but there is no mention of Active Probes being effective under the Jamming Tower.

was able to get two incursions

first one I was lost, I just followed one of the other team members like a lil'puppy, don't know if it was everyone's first time, or team just going FFA style

didn't seem others wanted to actually test, looked like they just wanted to destroy each other, and grab fuel cells.

second Incursion I have a better idea, but still lost, again it was just destroy anything red.
there were comments on layouts, and that was about it.
I kinda wanted to see the dropship in action, but I didn't say anything about that, probably still learning the new Maze of obstacles kept me of talking, and more likely the red guys shooting at me

even though it was a 8v8, the mode went fast

Smaller maps, there would be no point in getting fuel cells, just destroy the enemy, it's just another skirmish mode.

Got maybe ten matches of Incursion.

- Kill counters at the top of the screen are bugged; plzfix

- "ACT" is confusing to some people. Why not just "AIR"?

- It's actually kinda hard to figure out which towers are which when you want to deposit a battery. You can press your Target Info Overlay key, but I'd rather they just had unique icons on the map - even something as simple as their three letter abbreviations.

- Grabbing fuel cells and powering base assets provides zero reward. Like actually absolutely nothing. Big big problem. The rewards for these needs to be huge, because you're basically doing nothing else if you're busy carting batteries back and forth.

- The recharge stations could be better distributed on some maps - first to come to mind is Forest Colony, where basically if you send your main body to the center of the map, you can easily control all three battery thingies. If you're winning and pushing the enemy away, they'll never get the buffs because you control them. The stations should be spread out further so that must be independently contested - so that you actually have to divide your team something fierce if you want the monopoly. Plus this has the added benefit of inciting small skirmishes on lesser used parts of the maps.

- The dropship and jamming towers are worthless. The dropship only starts to matter when you're about to lose the game and the enemy is in your base - it doesn't actually help you win, and doesn't actually help prevent you from losing (just wait for it to time out and stop visiting if necessary...) About the jamming tower... I actually don't know what it does. It's so useless that I don't remember it doing anything at all. Does it cause map-wide low sig? I'm literally guessing.

- The radar tower, despite being free wallhacks, still isn't really worth having a light mech on duty to keep it running all match (or even at any point in the match). Basically, if you go over 160 kph, you can afford to grab a battery at the very start of a match, take it back to base, and get back to the fight in the middle of the map in time to not miss anything. But after that? You're just wasting time not being in the fight. Not being in the fight helps you lose the match. And if you're slower than 160 kph, or even just on a particularly large map? You're probably going to miss some action even on the first run. Not worth it.

- Just ignore the batteries, ignore the towers, and go kill the enemy. None of the tower buffs actually matter. That's the biggest problem with this game mode - you could just go kill the enemy while they have light heading back to base to feed the towers.

- Turrets are outrageously overpowered. Even if they dealt only 1 point of damage, they would still be outrageously overpowered. Or a less cryptic way of putting it: THERE SHOULD BE NO TURRETS***. If you leave a flank open and a light mech slips past, gets to your base, and singly handedly destroys it, then you failed so hard as a team. It should actually mean something to scout, cover all flanks, and properly defend your base. But as long as you have turrets that deal damage then light mechs can't do their job of exploiting open flanks and going on the offensive. Should there be radar so you can always see enemies that are inside your base? Sure, absolutely. But no damage dealing turrets. I didn't boot up Mechwarrior ONLINE to fight an NPC turret in a no-respawns game mode.

***caveat: if turret AI was improved to be more human like and/or more turret like, then I might be okay with them. By this I mean, they are either inaccurate (Kanajashi suggested just giving them a perpetual wobble to their aim), or they have maximum rate of tracking (right now turrets track targets infinitely fast, they are pinpoint aimbots that can't miss. If you coded them so that they could only rotate so many degrees per second, then they wouldn't be able to track fast moving mechs very well, and it would be much easier to torso twist their damage away. Either way, the aimbot precision has to go.

- This game mode needs respawns. By that I mean, it would be great for CW, but rather pointless for Quickplay (and no, I don't want respawns in Quickplay, that would defeat the purpose of it being "Quick.")

- PTS still needs rewards. You get nothing in return for playing PTS. We're basically giving our time to help the developer add to the game. "Oh, but testing new things and helping the developer to improve new features is the reward itself!" ... no, it's not. If it was, then surely more people would be on the PTS. But there's not. For most of tonight there were not enough players to even run two concurrent matches.

- About finding matches... We have to come together as a community to agree on a time and place to meet and drop to actually get matches on the PTS, otherwise people are spread across various buckets (solo queue, group queue, private lobby), and there just aren't enough people coalescing to kick off matches. Somebody has to have initiative to get the ball rolling and organise the entire community by spreading it throughout the various media. It's a shame that organiser isn't the developer. Is it too much to ask? All you need is a post, "Join us at 6 PST for evening drops on the Public Test Server!", have Tina streaming, and/or have Phil/Bombadil streaming, just something to attract bodies.

So, getting data for a new mode that you can enjoy in the future is not good enough?

PGI give this made 5 billion Cbils for all his effort.................right, and while their at it, tell them to get me some lobster tails

Initial feedback I do enjoy this mode but I see camp fests happening as there is nearly no reason to leave the base. At the same time I see people ignoring the bases entirely and pushing out into a brawl. It isn't a terrible or even bad mode, but, I feel it could do far better with being changed into the following two modes.

Resource Raid:

Grab resources take it back to your LZ, think like manual version of conquest. Victory only happens once you hit max supplies, or the enemy is dead and you have more resources than them. Heavily reward players who actually spend time collecting resources to incentivize it, pay out at the end of match being based upon how much your team has collected, stacking for what you personally collected (win or lose). This helps make it so killing isn't the only important thing. Now on a time out, team with the most resources win, and when the enemy team is completely dead, surviving team must manually collect the resources in the remaining time to have more resources than the enemy or lose. Like old conquest, however, once they have more resources than the enemy team the match ends. Whole team gets rewards per resource collected, win or lose, and player who collects the resource gets a bonus for the resource they specifically collected that stacks with the team one to reward those playing the objective.

Incursion:

Asymmetrical version of Incursion, because then there is a reason to fight and care about the base.

There's a loot bag event going on where you can win a free Champion Mech, MC, PT, Cockpit Items (read: things you otherwise only get spending real money) and additionally lots of CB and consumables by basically just participating. So asking for a reward for skipping these and do the testing for PGI is not unreasonable.

why would you need to skip these? why not crunch in some QP and then do 1 test or so. Not like its going anywhere soon. I don't want to hear pressed for time because we all got stuff to do and some of use make the best we can.

Find some people and make a schedule. even 1 match is data that can be used. Every time the have a PTS people for some reason bring up the Compensation for Time spent in PTS. I for one just don't understand the connection.

Well, i gave the PTS a try. But after waiting several minutes for a "Quick"play without a match being found (and, as it seems, even with a chance of not getting the mode we are supposed to test) i cannot imagine wasting my hour or so of available play time waiting on the PTS instead of getting some matches and loot bags in on the live server.

According to schedule some matches: unfortunately, i am not able to schedule the sleep-times of my daughter, so i cannot reliably participate in scheduled matches. My wife has to work on weekends so my play time is very spontaneous whenever there is an opportunity and i do not have other things to do.

guess they could had added the event to PTS, but wouldn't ever get a bag, since incursion mode is not part of the event.

ok, bad idea, I should get some sleep.

Then trust that the people who have time to test, accurately detect the problems and articulate them well.

Also I gotta warn people at the start. PGI is only listening to feedback on the appropriate forum and in the appropriate manner. https://mwomercs.com...on-public-test/

This is the sort of mode that could do with a drop deck of two mechs to make attacking he base more worth wild and you can get dropped in faster if you have the air pwr tower

Yes, only from reading the description alone everything screams "Put me in big maps in FP with respawn and a meaning following the objective".

Thanks for an additional variant of TDM.

As long as "no respawns" holds all QP gamemodes hostage, there is really no need to add more of them to QP. It's a waste of time, since every single additional gamemode you guys add to the current maps without respawns is TDM.

Add it to CW (switch for domination or skirmish), and be done with it. Really no need to add it to quickplay.

Actually was able to play twice last night. Sat on it and thought. Still think incentives need to be done to get players on PTS more.

Tried out as a PB LCT. Got the fuel cell but confused what object to place at. Some kind of symbol on map might better help and designate which one does what.

Second game was a HB IIc light hunter. Couldn't lock on at all with streaks in the enemy base. Bravo.

More thoughts. More rewards for incentive to play mission. Or even kill off ALL rewards of just killing the enemy and just make it a mission map. Should be done frankly to most mission modes in this game.
