Did i see correctly ? after 5 years the ready up button is going bye byes ????

Blood Wolf, and every PTS your the ONLY person saying people should prioritise time that gets them nothing over time that gets them something...... emphasis on "ONLY person."

Sure glad I spent 40 minutes in the PTS search que last night. At least I got to play one game, on assault....

Skill tree PTS... well the new skill system/nodes actually interested me so I tested it...both PTS versions... a new base defence game mode that's been delayed nine months and is really best suited to FW and NOT QP ? Nope. Doesn't interest me thus not going to waste my time on its PTS. Why spend time with "fuel cells" and other nonsense when many QP games are over in six minutes. How does a mode that makes the game even longer help "quick play" ? If I wanted longer games, I'd be in the FW queue.

WTF is this?

People were under the impression Incursion would have 1 base, not 2.

Two bases plus this Fuel Cell thing at the map center continue the proud tradition of providing, "Just another Skirmish Mode."

PS - Bad Timing to do this with the Loot Bag event going on. Some people are still competing for that.

Is there any possibility of including public test as a "beta build" on Steam? On numerous other games you could select which 'build' you want to play under Steam's properties for the game. Sometimes this was necessary until some sort of workaround for specific issues came about on some games (MGS V the Phantom Pain is one such example). In this case that setting could be used (in theory) to operate the PTS for steam users.

(And for now, can the MWO portal / bootstrapper thing be used to only install the PTS?)

Incursion is supposed to be "Assault" mode 2.0.

Under what circumstances would "Assault 2.0", a game with at least one base per team, (aka 2 bases) give the impression of a single base?

Also very agreed -- it is not a good time to do a PTS during an event since events tend to give you something and PTS is here for the critics to critique...which I hate to say it but unless you have a twitter account there doesn't seem to be much room for being heard.

If it had 1 base, it would be just another skirmish mode aswell. Atleast for QP. No respawns automatically makes everything they come up with Skirmish on the maps we currently have. 1 base, 2 bases, no base, no difference. The only thing that could change skirmish to an (atleast possibly) objective based gamemode on the current maps are respawns. No respawns, no objective based gameplay on the maps we got.

Wait a second...

"Each Fuel Cell Generator acts as its own fabrication unit, creating and charging new Fuel Cells."

So we now have indestructible doohickeys that provide infinite fuel in a form that is conveniently packaged and transportable. Why are we fighting? Free power for everyone! Where's clan diamond shark to market and sell these things?

They can't be moved? Oh. Damn.

Then maybe you should build your base around these things. That would be way more convenient for everybody. :)

been waiting for this since mechcon! this game mode seems like it will be fun to play!

i like that there will be incentives for doing more then brawling, and i like the idea of increasing the need for teamwork throught out the solo que.

my concerns :
the need for teamwork through out the solo que
the sizes of some of the maps, ( better on say T-desert than canyon)

over all i like the forward progress, and look forward to trying this game mode out!

I can't get a game atm, but I'm sure that this mode suffers the same as conquest did, as you only had to kill all enemies to win.

Wait... It's 16:30 GMT in Europe and there are 6 people (counting me) waiting for a match. Where are the rest of the players???

Yes, of course, they are on the live servers, where they can earn C-Bills, XP points and also some loot bags from the event, instead of NOTHING AT ALL.

Oh boy... I just cant see this being any different than assault with turrets was... for a mode like this to really work we need either {respawns} or {only one base on the map and no CTF mechanic} and that second one would inherently favor the defenders unless the attackers are given some asymmetrical advantage to offset.

Edit: To be clear, I actually like the basic premise behind this mode, I just don't think it will work very well with its current implementation (from reading the post, still patching ptc)

The base matters too. We have one match were me and another fast medium attacked the base. We got most the base down . Half their team came to kill us. This allowed our fatties to do thier job and we all died but they got all but 2. These two were heavily damage and as soon as they went to kill our base the turrets got them. So yes killing might still matter the most but not always.

I'd love to help test this, but I can't seem to find a match. I've currently been in queue for an hour and a half without getting a single match. (+30 minutes earlier today)

Maybe you could add a tab for Incursion mode in the loot bag event to encourage more people to test this?

more like a mini version of Invasion Siege,'cept now both sides have the same objectives. (All objectives with atk/def)
with the added objective of gathering (kinda like scouting/conquest)

I welcome it,
Though I would like bigger maps, forcing some to stay for defense, while the rest are Attacking or Gathering, the maps here are small, where the best strategy is just skirmish till enemy is destroyed, then go destroy their base,

Maps that will (most likely) just be Skirmish:
• Caustic Valley
• Crimson Strait
• Forest Colony
• Grim Plexus
• HPG Manifold

Maps that have a chance where the outcome may be more objective
• Frozen City
• Polar Highlands
• River City
• Tourmaline Desert

note: I haven't played incursion in all those maps, but it's how I imagine it will happen
