It don't get hotter than the Marauder.

The thing looks like a war machine, as opposed to a loader mech with guns.

Which versions?
TRO 3025 Original
Project Phoenix
MWO
Or CGL Reseen?

CGL's marauder is the best.

I'd like the arm pods scaled up about 10% but beyond that, it's very nice. Really like the 3D animation too. It's funny, I prefer the MWO Warhammer by a fair bit, but do prefer the CGL MAD. (of course, I actualyl do like the Phoenix version, and the original... it's only MWO's MAD which oddly appears to be a homage to SHims classic reseen take.....that I dislike. Of course, I never liked shims reseen, either. But I do like this one)

If I would be artist - I would draw my perfect 'Mech. But you should get an idea after looking at following pictures:

But yeah, all of a sudden I also like Jagermech, Highlander and Awesome.

I always like a 'Mech built around a big gun (or maybe two) and designed just to use it as effectively as possible. This philosphy extends to others, e.g. I prefer a character specializing at a single two handed sword with medium armor than sword and board with heavy armor in my fantasy RPGs.

The Hollander design really accentuates the Gauss Rifle it carries:

Yeah, it's a bit funny how Alex's Marauder looks more like the Shimmy's (usual) Marauder, than the actual Shimmy's Marauder he made for CGL.

I'm still kinda pissed that we haven't seen the Goliath and Scorpion "classic" redesigns.

We haven't seen several of the new "classic" designs. We still haven't seen the Stinger, Valkyrie, I'm gonna include the Griffin because even though we've seen it on the cover of the Mercs Combat Manual, it hasn't appeared in the Mini-TRO yet, I assume it'll probably show up in the Steiner manual, when and/or if it comes out... Anyway... Ostroc, Ostsol, Rifleman, Crusader, Thunderbolt, Archer and finally the Longbow. Throw in the Goliath and Scorpion and that's 12 mechs still to be seen.

At 4 mechs per TRO, that's only 3 Combat Manuals they could fill. I would assume the Valkyrie, Rifleman and Longbow would probably show up in the Davion manual, the Stinger, Griffin and Archer in the Steiner manual, the Ostroc, Ostsol and Crusader in the Marik manual, that leaves the Thunderbolt in the Liao manual. They'd need 4 more mechs to properly fill out all 4 of the remaining manuals.

I'd say the 4 more likely mechs to be added would be stuff like the Marauder II, and then the LAM versions of the Stinger, Wasp and Phoenix Hawk.

I always HATED the atlas. Thought it looked like hot garbage.

Right up until MWO's atlas. Now that's sexy.

Though now that I think about it I hated humanoid mechs altogether, especially the japanese ones. I also heavily dislike overly-skinny mechs like the classic marauder.

Of the ones that I like, I think my favorite would be the mechwarrior 4 vulture.

Posted Image

I like the meatier arms and the tracking nose guns. Was never a fan of the classic vulture.

I also like the argus.

Posted Image

And I like the uziel but not a big fan of the skinny-barrels on some of the drawings. The cockpit/ct is what does it for me.

Speaking in more broad/general terms, my favorite design is aircraft shaped torso+chicken walker legs. Mechs like the Marauder, Catapult, Timberwolf, Ebon Jaguar, Bushwacker, Cougar, Raven, etc... That design language just seems the sleekest and coolest.

I do like the occasional (what I like to call) "Hybrid" design as well like the Cataphract and Uziel. I call them hybrid because they have traits from both humanoids and traditional chicken-walker type designs.

Chicken walker master race. I started with MW2, so Nova, Mad Dog, Timber Wolf, Marauder IIC, Warhawk, Dire Wolf will always stand out to me. There are some good IS ones too.

My favorite mech design as always

The Timberwolf

Posted Image

Just from the look of primal strength it brings to the elegance and sleekness fits perfectly with he design. And all it's heirs that follow through II-IV follow the style of elegance and ferocity that I love about the Wolf.

And the Atlas
.Posted Image

The ultimate design of human god complex in my opinion it brings fear, and awe to both friend and foe alike on the field.
