Okay the Secret Challenge was: "Die in a match having inflicted at least 200 damage dealt against enemy ‘Mechs"

Some of you were super close with the guesses!!

No matter event or not, each week should have one secret challenge like this! The community gets very responsive with everyone trying to find how to trigger it. All you have to tell us is if 1,2 or 3 conditions are required. In this case 2 conditions were required, 200 damage and die.

Hmmm~ Neat idea! What kinda prizes would be fair to give-away for secret challenges you think though?

Maybe small amounts of MC as this would be good for us pilots & also good for PGI as it inevitably goes back into the game.

That's a good question... what PGI is willing to give so often?

I know you have all kind of data to play with so you can come up with some twisted ideas sometimes and I guess that would define what's up to get.

I would say a variation from a few millions for the easy ones, maybe 5K-10K GXP, up to cockpit items, colors and . Could also be a mix of any.

MC and C-Bills seems to be the most appealing prizes from what I've seen, otherwise we're pretty open to any types depending on the effort of the challenge(s). Colors and sometimes even camos however are the most complicated to give away though. Reason to that is because if you have bought a color on your account and suddenly that very color is now a prize from an event, you wouldn't benefit from it as you cannot receive that very same color twice..

Another suggestion, just like achievements and titles, create badges we can collect and show off by completing a challenge.

If you're about to do that weekly, it's no big deal to skip a week because prize looks uninteresting or is already owned, but many will play nonetheless because they play a few times every week, and some will really look to earn the badge so they will seek if solution to trigger secret challenge is found.

I forgot for prize there could also be keys to spin the wheel of fortune.

My only concern now... ok I will PM you.

Secret prizes should be stuff that you can't get yet - unreleased stuff. Stuff people might be able to purchase later, but for now, people will be scrambling to attain the secret whatever it is. And you can make it so people win the 'secret prize' and that 'secret' will be injected on Monday. That way, people will log on, fight for the prize until they get it. You can make it more difficult to get the better secret prizes - like mechs - but NO ONE will know what the prize is until they get it, keeping the suspense up. Obviously the hype will be real if people are working their butts off to achieve what they perceive to be a better prize. (Of course, if you make the challenge difficult and then give out a kiss-my-butt decal, people might get discouraged.)

Another idea is the 'get the whole collection' secret objectives. So, maybe a set of four decals, or a cockpit suite (standing, hanging, and warhorn).

Easy things you wouldn't have to advertise HOW to win it, just that we have to keep playing and ideally, eventually we'll get it. The harder things - especially those that require us to play or achieve things in certain game modes, maps, or mechs, we should know about.

I do think that giving out mechs, or maybe some peices of not-released-yet civil war technology could be interesting! Redeem codes for camo patterns would work too. In fact, here's another idea:

Have the artists create a camo pattern or two that can ONLY be gathered through events. I know the artists are loath to produce more skins because they have to put the skins on EVERY DARNED MECH, but if the skins become a chase item, it might be worth it to add another skin or two. Or colors. Like metallic color unlock codes for really shiny mechs?

How about Caches...either folks gamble and thus its a micro-transaction for PGI... or they just sell them for the 50k cbills each.

Fun challenges/missions are more important than the prize. Cockpit items and cbills is good enough as long as its a few millions. Maybe playing an urbie during that time could have rewarded an extra 25% cbills. I would have never bought an urbie if not for the event and i really enjoyed it. I was cool seeing a bunch of people in a mech you never see otherwise.

The cockpit items are nice rewards for me. I to put those rewards on the mech that win them as a memento for the next time i play them. They are a great incentive to make me play the events.

These events should do just that, change the game for a weekend or more. You can stone me but great rewards make people angry. Because they want it and try too hard and play too much and end up frustrated. This last event was just fun and a few million cbills and cockpit item are cools but nothing to lose sleep. The warhorn was nice too.

Please add "Supply Cache Keys" (possibly 'GXP' as well) alongside the current idea for "(MC) and (C-BIlls)"... Players already collect enough 'Supply Cache Containers' from the rounds they play, but we usually can't get enough keys to come close to opening even 90% of them.

While you're at it, extra 'Mech Bays', 'WarHorns', and Assorted Mechs (and possibly 'Decals') would also be worth sprinkling in here and there! B)

I think a lot of people would be happy with a free mech bay as a price

and yes, cach key of course!

also special themed warhorns would be great. (perhaps Hero warhorns, like I put my Fools warhorn on the Jester)

something like

dragon warhorn for the dragon slayer
riders warhorn for the Ilya
police warhorn for the K-9 or the St. Ives' Blues
devil's warhorn for the Hellslinger
Bell warhorn for the Death's knell (like at the beginning of 'Hells' Bells')
'Nevermore' warhorn for the Huginn
lightning warhorn for the sparky
...
...
...

My advice would be to keep Secret Goals light-hearted ... something that every player does at least once during a typical play session, without really thinking about it.

And the Secret Reward should be something in the same theme, also light-hearted.

Please NEVER make those rewards exclusive to the event, that would only lead to frustration for the players ...

An example would be :

- Secret Goal : overheat at least once in a game and survive.
- Secret Reward : Cool Shot 18 x 5 consumable.

I'm sure there lots of things most of us players do without realizing it, but a Secret Goal should not be really hard to achieve, the idea being that there are so much things available that we won't know what we did for sure to get the Secret Reward.

Hahahahaha!!!! ... Great job on that fools warhorn PGI! ... The way it sounds, and WHEN it's triggered is a perfect joke!

LMAO a splt-second later, imagining my own totally over-perplexed face after i realized it honks only when u DIE!!!

Fantastic gift, guys - you fooled us all so nicely! Well done! Want more of it!

regards, JINN TONIC

btw - i guess, you get it, when all of the following conditions are complied:

- you die before end of match (only by enemy's hand!)

- you still have ammunition left

- you don't acheive a score of at least 80 points

Well - i died from a sudden backstab by an 6SPL Arctic Cheater within the first minutes of the match, so all of these conditions complied. I checked my score afterwards, and certainly it was less than 80, so i believe, i could be right with my guesswork. Hope it helps.

I would really like more ways to get access to more caches, for events like the Lucky Charms this would have been great, as it adds a reward within a reward. If you hate supply caches, you just sell it.

It would be great to have a supply cache review page, where you can evaluate what you've won, against what you could have one. I am yet to win a mech, and I've opened probably around 100+, the gf opened like 10 and got the banshee (typical Posted Image )

I like this idea, premium time for colours you own is a great trade off, colours are so versatile that it really is a significant reward. Buying it outright is crazy expensive though. On the topic of colours, please can we get some NEON colours, I like shiny glowy mechs and I can not lie.

Remember, you can hear the warhorn from other mechs, so you would hear it when a lancemate dies w/it equipped.
