NAME: Sebaztien Hawke
CALLSIGN: Killzone (Solaris VII) / Bastion (Field Ops)
TIME-ZONE: GMT +12 (NZ)
HOUSE/FACTION: As a mercenary, Hawke has worked primarily for Fed. Suns/ House Davion, the FRR, House Steiner and worlds in the Periphery. Hawke strongly dislikes the Draconis Combine and House Liao, refusing to serve them and taking pleasure in opposing them in field operations or the Solaris VII coliseum. With Clan Wolf/Black Widow company roots, Hawke has a neutral stance towards the Clans, considering their goal of unification of the Inner Sphere for the good of mankind to be a worthy one. He would not, however, want to see a strict caste system introduced and thus opposes certain warlike Clans.
PLAYSTYLE: Typically aggressive, Hawke prefers brawling battles to long range engagements, seeing LRM proliferation as a mark of cowardice on the battlefield. He tends towards flanking actions and guerilla-esque hit and fade strikes, and believes mech forces should regularly reposition to create opportunities as opposed to holding a static line. When a push is required, Sebaztien Hawke is a dependable part of the action, unafraid to trade armour for battlefield dominance. Favours direct fire weapons, especially autocannons, believing them to be the most honourable tools of the Mechwarrior’s trade.
ROLE/CHASSIS: Hawke is most successful in Heavy and Assault chassis ‘mechs. His garage consists of mechs of each class, and IS and Clan tech. Typically deploys in a Roughneck, Ebon Jaguar, Mad Cat Mk2, or Banshee, but has been spotted in other mechs including a Griffin, Shadowhawk, Hellspawn and Thanatos among others. MercNet rumours suggest Hawke has been breaking in Black Lanner, Fafnir and Blood Asp ‘mechs. Sebaztien is happy to fill almost any role with the exclusion of LRM fire support.
EXPERIENCE: Sebaztien Hawke has hundreds of hours of BattleMech combat under his belt, but feels he has more to learn and yet more to offer. He enjoys the company of Mechwarriors who are not afraid to use less orthodox tactics.
LANGUAGE: Sebaztien Hawke prefers to use English over the comm. during the 3055-56 Solaris VII seasons he was known for a “Whoo!” or wolf’s howl to make mech kills.
MRBC DOSSIER: Sebaztien Hawke was born into the Wolf’s Dragoons mercenary company, to Trueborn parents. Whether or not he was genetically enhanced inutero has not been confirmed. He grew up amongst warriors, learning the business of war from elite infantry soldiers, engineers, pilots and Mechwarriors. Hawke is considered proficient in unarmed combat, small arms, powered armour, Battlemechs and aerospace vehicles. He first piloted a ‘mech in battle at age 17, taking a Firefly out to reinforce his allies against the unexpected attack of a powerful criminal’s private army and holding back the conventional forces until the mech lance on patrol could return. He served in several Wolf’s Dragoons units through the late 3040s, honing his skills in multiple roles, before being sponsored to form his own affiliated mercenary company with friends from the Dragoons and others he’d met on his travels around the Inner Sphere. In the mid 3050s that unit was reformed as an independent force, with Hawke assuming the rank of Colonel. MRBC analysts now see this as a deliberate diversification by WDs to move 2nd generation personnel away from their banner before the Clan invasion. The unit, the 97th Pit Fiends, focussed on Solaris battles and earning a reputation for brutal, close range combat. It was in a refitted Roughneck armed with twin LB10-x autocannons and machine guns that Hawke took the name Chaindog and placed well for several seasons in the Heavy weight class. The unit took out of season mercenary work, trading on their Solaris reputation to earn higher than typical pay.
After the Clan invasion, the unit became less visible, and is believed to have fought on both sides in true merc fashion. Their final alliegance remains unknown.
