To be fair, having been destroyed DOES give them more experience than you in that regard and weight behind their advice so that you too will not share their fate!

I'm just giving up now on such teams. If I'm dead... disconnect and go onto another mech and game. You cannot fix people who seem to be willfully ignorant and blind to basic features of the game. Although it is amusing to watch people who fitted the seismic module, but then never stop moving long enough for it to work before they get back shot because they were too busy creeping back and forth, poke-snipping and torso twitching. That and the radar dep module seem to be the two people understand the least beyond "well I read on the forum that I needed the wallhack and derp modules". The radar dep module requires you to break line of sight to work for starters...and that means move your whole mech behind cover, not just your cockpit... its not like bugs bunny cartoons where if the ostrich sticks his head in the sand and cannot see anyone... they're not there anymore next to him. Secondly WHEN it blocks the enemy radar, it also has a cockpit flash and chirp noise, to let you know its doing its job. This btw can be useful if you're scouting around, to let you know someone had been pointing their radar at you. Essentially its doubling as a radar detector...and just like on the highway with cops and speed enforcement...you might not know exactly where they are... but you can narrow it down and react to their presence.

Sometimes when I take command I will continue to command even after my death. I will watch the match through my team mate's eyes and continue to call primary targets to focus fire. I see nothing wrong with this. Just because I'm dead does not mean I cannot spectate and be situationally aware enough to still know what I am talking about.

My "favorite" comment is "just die" lol

mine too... the annoying people Hiding Harder in the back that made the team lose, need to just go die and quit wasting time of tying my mech up. I want to drop again and hope that I dont get stuck on a potato farm that PGI is mockingly calling my team for that match.

I wish there was an option to block chat from (dead) players.

The backseating (dead) people are just annoying, even more that they can tell the enemy stuff about your team in there rage.

Actually they are not dead, they ejected.

They are providing feedback as they parachute down.

I'm fine hearing the voices of dead people, so long as they're constructive or screaming at a potato to HIT RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I've always found that amusing

If I stay in the fight spectating even when I'm dead it's when I sense we still have a chance of winning. Only comms when I think the guy I'm spectating seems to have missed things (like a sniper focused at long range and missing blips on seismic or brawlers so focused on a half dead mech circling around a rock formation they seem to ignore a mech directly at their side taking free shots) or someone who seems relatively inexperienced at just spraying the enemy mech even with a severely exposed component they could take advantage of.
Of course if I'm alive I try to heed the warnings. They've led to clutch wins and it always feels good to pull a 1v4 off to a win. But if they start being whiney or abrasive I just tune them out.

Dead players can jump from friendly viewpoint to friendly viewpoint. They can know more about the battle than any live player.

If they use that info for good, then power to them. If they use that power to help the enemy, you report them.

Done.

There's a military saying that holds true in this game... "there's nothing more dangerous than a soldier with a radio that knows how to use it".

Maybe it is you, sorry. So far all experience in that regard were positive. Some close matches were pretty cool because of "dead cheerleaders" and peeps who tried to help you. So once more, maybe you really played crap? :)

Stick to the merits of the comments. If they were correct, the annoyance stems from the necessity to admit you were wrong or trifle with making up an alternate excuse to cover the scenario. If they were wrong, then you have comedy. I see no problems here.

The only time I've seen that happen with a non-AFK is when a guy who had hidden in the back of the map with his splat Jenner-IIC for the whole match (to the point that he was entirely fresh) announced that he was going to shut down and run the timer (in Skirmish with 8 minutes left and 5 damaged enemies remaining), then did so. Because "you trash shouldn't have died".

We gave the enemy team his coordinates after a minute of that. Tell me that wasn't justified.

The dead that help are useful... "I opened the rear armor on target delta before I went down, he is an ECM Marauder in Kilo 8" is an example of Useful Deadspeak...

Then there is the Dead Who Should Be Silent, also called the SaltyDead, who despite dying before you, have all the knowledge to tell you how to win, or why you are not winning, or... whatever....

typically I try to take tactical info from the Dead with a grain of Salt, because their plan got them dead in the first place, but they sometimes have the advantage of seeing things from other perspectives and if an intelligent person is working on putting together a win, it may be worth listening to...

So you give a scenario that warrants behavior that's otherwise justified... Why? Obviously that isn't the issue I was referring to--What do you have to say for the numerous times it happens because of spiteful, ignorant and otherwise clueless teammates that harass and berate 'survivors' in chat and over VOIP at the end of a poorly played match? I guarantee you for every valid callout of this nature, there are 3 more happening elsewhere without justification, purely because Scrub Hood and his band of merry potatoes played like shite and not only expect everyone else suffer their fate, but demand it.

Prime example:
I was in my KGC-000(L) earlier on Frozen City - Conquest. It was about 3 minutes in and both teams had established themselves on opposite sides of the valley. I kept my head down behind cover and moved toward the flank in case anyone tried that approach - It was a fair distance from where I was initially waiting for the team to gather, which was the snow ramp to the north (You know, the ideal crossing point for a push from the Eastern city). In transit, General Potato announces a bold plan to push from the very center of the hillside (South of me) across the wide open center of the map after all the enemy Gauss+PPC snipers have taken up their positions... If you don't see the issue with that idea you might as well stop reading now. By the time I get to where they pushed from, the 7 people there had already moved down into no-man's land. I picked a decent spot and started dropping shells on the opposite hillside, but I stayed on my hillside near cover. Shortly after this, about 20 seconds later, there was a push from the southern flank that wiped out the 4 guys I was originally on my way to reinforce, while the guys down in the valley got sniped to death before they even made to the other side... So there I was, in a relatively fresh KGC-000(L) now wandering the Eastern cityscape alone... Didn't take long for General Potato and his half-witted cohorts to start running their collective flaptraps about how bad I was and how the team lost because of me, andstarted announcing my position... I ended that match with only 3 kills and some 600-700 damage, half of which was probably accrued after the team got wiped out.

Now I don't play nearly as often as I used to and I still see it happen on a daily basis--It's completely uncalled for most of the time. I never apologize when the armchair generals start questioning and harassing my every move - I'm alive in a X-11 Game because I played smarter/better than them and that's all there is to it... And I will continue the remainder of the match how I see fit, whether it fits their schedule or not, and I extend that courtesy to anyone else deserving of it.

Dead people that have nothing to contribute should remain silent.
