Yeah, I clearly see a problem.
Sadly for you the problem isn't the Nova.

As for the recent Nova Flamer build, I haven't seen it become a problem or issue yet. It seems like it is a difficult build to use under most situations. You have to pick out a mech by itself, get close to that person without them seeing you, and then flamer them before they can react. It seems like if any of those things doesn't happen, you are going to have a bad time.
If target isn't alone, the Nova runs into the middle of enemies and gets lit up by one of the people he isn't targeting. If the target sees the Nova, it might be able to blow off a crucial arm before the Nova gets in range.
Overall, I am thinking it is one of those builds that require the stars to align...so to speak. Basically Feast or Famine. If things go your way as that Nova pilot, you probably could really do some damage. however, if any one thing goes wrong, you will be left wrecked rather quickly. Heck, lose one arm with that mech (either one) and you are in rough shape.

* I can get in range fairly easily by hiding or ambushing. Contrariwise, rushing forward is almost always a really terrible idea.
* This also takes care of facing enemy groups; choke points are good for this. Depending on the situation, if the target doesn't have someone to help him IMMEDIATELY, he's doomed.
* If I can see the enemy's build (e.g. heavy ballistics), I can change my mind about engaging.
I still have to hope the enemy will panic and overheat, and I also have to hope that I can see his cockpit when he does (although CTR works, it doesn't get me a headshot.)

I respect the b33f because he's entertaining, but **** you dude for making this abomination.
The Flamer Nova is a 1 trick pony and if it is killing you REPEATEDLY then the problem is not with that build but with you. Blow it's arms off and walk away laughing!

Is the Direstar B33f's invention or (like the flamer nova) he's just doing it better than most?
That was the last time I remember him having a noticeable impact on builds, it was an interesting few weeks after that build came out...
