"In one match, engage Override after overheating, survive the match, achieve a Match Score of at least 100, and win the match."

Does this imply we have to shut down first, and then override and keep it on for the rest of the match after an overheat shutdown, or go over 100% heat while override is online?

Actually... good question.. Posted Image

And what if we overheat, override, then turn override off?

I would guess that it means "where override has been triggered upon overheating".

At least, that's what it meant when we had this challenge in a prior event, a couple of years back.

Overheat-->Override-->Shutdown-->Start up-->Live to deal over 200 damage-->Win the game. Simple as that.

was just reading the event specifics and came up with the same question. with the things give, you culd simply fire to shut down at the start of the game, and then simply overide after returning (which would cause minimal damage) and then paly normal.

Strange nonsense condition tbh.

this is something i already do a lot anyway. if an unplanned shutdown occurs i usually slam the override, but never on time to abort the shutdown, so it ends up restarting the mech instead. i actually get myself into trouble a lot because of this because i often forget to turn the override off and cook my core. so i guess if you find yourself doing this, just leave the override on and watch your heat carefully. its going to be one of those things that happens on accident.

one problem with this game is by the time you hear the audible heat warning the mech has already began its shutdown and there is no window in which to override. seems in other mechwarrior games you had a second or two to hit the button. this is also annoying with sat sweeps, by the time you hear the warning the scan is done and you dont have much time to check the map. its one of those facepalm moments that speaks of this game's inferior sound design.

They've done this before and all it means is you have to overheat and override out of it once and then fulfill the other conditions.

Tip: you can do it at spawn under controlled conditions.

has anyone got this one yet? if so, how exactly did you do it? was it the controlled at the start then go on to win the match, was it that you hit the 100% and slap the override as you get over the 100%?

ugh, i've tried soooo many other combinations though and still didn't get it :(

play more light mechs please...

Did this earlier in a 3 LPL Crab, finished match with 3 kills and I'm pretty sure my match score was above 100...and no reward. Was maybe 90m ago, so not sure what the deal is.

I'll be honest, I always thought we were supposed to engage the override before we overheated and shutdown Posted Image

Hm, confused..

I've only played 2 matches so far and one of them registered, because I'm showing some event progress.

That first match had 3 kills, 4 KMDDs, 700 damage - easily over 100 match score
My team won, I survived the match
I overheated, then hit override and left override on all match and didn't overheat again

So why do I not have Hard Boiled?

More testing required! Posted Image

Same. Overheated and shutdown, hit override, started back up. 650 dmg, won match, no credit towards the challenge

Jup, doesn't work. I overheated, slammed override right away, left override engaged. We won the match, I survived and both times I got no reward

Tried both and neither counted so ::shrug::

Edit: got it, I think it was the overheat>hit override while shutting down from the overheat

I'll try hitting it while shutting down, thanks.

That's what I tried, but didn't get it.
Trying it with Override after the shutdown finishes, but I keep dying in the match...

[Edit] Of course I manage it in my next match ^^
So that's two games where I scored over 100, survived and we won
1st - Overheat, override while shutdown - no reward
2nd - Overheat, wait for shutdown to finish, override - fingers crossed! [/Edit]

Tried it a few different ways myself, and still not counting. Did it in 2 different games with 2 different mechs.

I got it in a Pirates Bane. I overheated, shut down, hit override, reactivated, turned override off, and went on to win the match(But I died), yet I somehow completed the challenge.

Ok, just got it, so it must have been from my 2nd "attempt"

Fired until Overheat
Wait for shutdown to finish
Turn on Override
I *did* go over 100% heat again, but that shouldn't matter

Hitting Override before the shutdown finished did *not* give credit for me.
