It must have taken longer than I expected to update. I come home almost 8 hours later, log in, and now I have the reward.

I did as it said, overheated, waited for shutdown and restarted; then engaged override and barely managed to survive the match and won after getting at least 3 kills.

Does this imply we have to shut down first, and then override and keep it on for the rest of the match after an overheat shutdown, or go over 100% heat while override is online?

You should be able to do it at start.
Didn't think of that but got it.
Overheat.
While waiting for heat drop, engage override.
Get decent damage for 100+ match score.
Win match and live.

The one I do not like is the last 2, did not keep track of kills but I now have 3 of the Clan kills and 1 IS.

Except I do not know which ones I got.

Hitting Override before the shutdown finished did *not* give credit for me.

IMHO this reward is BROKEN or at best it takes a long time to be awarded.

The other possibility is it simply takes longer to update than the other challenges, which would be weird.

I'm leaning towards "takes a long time" since we seem to have several conflicting conclusions and this, at least, would make them all possible.

It took a while te register (several hours) but i completed this challenge:

1. Overheat & shutdown
2. Hit override and power back up
3. Win the match (with a match score of 100+) and stay alive

this was actually the easiest one for me and the first thing i cleared. even got it before chicken walker assists which is something. the kmdds against each class might actually be the hard ones (if you can call getting kmdds hard).

Finally managed to get this!

As others have said, I believe you have to actually let the mech shut down then override.

Now my question is...
The page shows it complete.
The games showed me the "injection"
But I can't find the decal? Not showing up under the camo spec...decals tab.

Any thoughts?

*Edit nevermind I found it - needed to switch the decals to "all" instead of "new"

I got it pretty easy, once the game is 99% won (you have several people chasing down the last person), go off to the side, shoot until you over heat, then engage override. Win game, done

Do you engage override while shut down or after your mech powers up? I've seen both descriptions.

How the **** is this challenge to be completed?

I tried:
- overheat, shutdown, wait for shutdown to finish, hit override, left override activated, got over 100 points matchscore, won the match, stayed alive...nothing
- overheat, shutdown, hit override during shutdown, deactivated shutdown, got over 100 points matchscore, won the match, stayed alive...nothing

Is this some kind of april fool stuff?

Edit: ok, finally i got the reward. I don´t know which one of my procedures did it, I just write down the last one:
overheated right at the beginning, waited for the mech to power up completly, then hit override, let override activated, etc...
But maybe I just got registered the achivement from some hours ago.

I hit override after the mech powered back up and completed the challenge. Sounds like I got really lucky? I dunno.

I, too, tried both methods.

I'd wager it just takes longer for this condition to register. The alternatives are half the posts in the thread are wrong, or it's bugged.

For me, it worked by hitting override *while shutdown* but not before shutdown

I wonder if people not getting it really is just an excessive delay or maybe there's a condition no one's aware of? Unlikely, but it wouldn't surprise me if doing it in a chicken walker or JJ mech was part of it. I got it, with a stormcrow running 6-ERML and 2-ERLL... this thing was nice and hot.

I chose to overheat right at the start (it's possible to do so without taking damage but it's tight), override while shutdown, leave it on, and just played the match. Got score, won, survived, challenge complete. I did overheat a little in that match and damage internals, but I don't think that's a requirement. The real trick to this challenge is overheating on your own terms and not dying. Easy!

Well, I had both attempts in chicken walkers, too

DWF when I hit Override *during* shutdown
MAD-IIC when I hit Override *after* shutdown had finished
