This event was the most challenging one before the reduction of its requirement that I've ever experienced however I did manage to accomplish it and hope for more.

I'd played all mech classes for this event challenge to ensure success but had to accept a poor w/l ratio in my light mech class because I'd relied on the LCT-PB and ACH-PRIME mechs so much for the cause.

Thanks for the 200MC that I will use to buy a decal of the letter A. Finally, I can display my callsign of MOBA proudly in its entirety.

I threw in the towel at 8 out of 9 long ago.

Consider me pleasantly surprised.

Thank you, i'm the one who has not completed the challenge.
I have to admit that i was little sorry about the uncompleted event (the most of the times i can reach all the achievements), but, with this "surprise" you made me happy.
Keep up PGI!

Thank you for the love, PGI. For those of us who did complete the event, can we get a little bit more love? I and the other 25% who completed this event (all of them) had to put in a great deal of time and effort into this. I would have stopped playing long before if it was only complete 7 out of 9 versus pushing myself to complete the objectives. Thanks.

* Any idea why some (Like myself) were able to complete the challenge relatively quickly, while others struggled? I'm wondering if people with less 'Mechs have a harder time.
...

well, i can't really relate to that. if you're used to some particular mech, you were able tu do most of the challenges quite easy.
i for example accomplished 8/9 in a locust 1E, even the ''kill da fatties' part. getting the battery-achieved/delivered is quite easy, too, even for a player that usually plays heavies/assaults: a locust isn't expensive, and deliver 5 batteries in one match was quite easy.

but if someione's insisting to sit back hiding somewhere in a lurmboat it might be hard to get the challenges done.

well, only hard part was the delivery faild challange, but it was nonetheless... challanging to try to catch a fullspeed locust that zigzags around like a bunny on steroids- i wasn't able to catch one wich frustrated me on a personal level because i'm a locust player as well, but i prefer some interesting challange over some recurring "kill or KMMD 123 of this Potatomech".

overall i liked the challanges.

Hi PGI, you didn't have to do this, i got 8 of the 9 and was grateful for the prizes I got, and now that i have the completed ones, well i'm darn happy about that so big ups. I've prebooked the Javelin and Annihilator so i'm not going anywhere for quite sometime.

thanks

Thanks :) The extra 200MC is a very nice gesture and very appreciated after a bit of frustration with the event.

Hello all!

First:
I want to say sorry for the frustration this event caused everyone. It was not my intention at all.

Second:
We very briefly extended the event to adjust the "All Done" Challenge to only require 7 of 9 challenges complete.
This change allowed players to get the Mech Bay without having to complete the dreaded "Failed Delivery" or "Necessary Roughness" Challenges.
The "extension" was to give the script the chance to run one final time. and the Mechbays were injected.

However, that is not all we are doing.

As a Consolation Prize anyone who completed 1 Match of Incursion with a minimum Match Score of at least 80 (during the Event) will receive the following rewards as our way of saying sorry for the frustration caused by this event.

Consolation Prize -
Anyone who completed 1 Match of Incursion with a minimum Match Score of at least 80 during the event will receive 250,000 C-Bills, 200 MC, and 2 days of Active Premium Time (activates on your next log in).
That covers 99.5 % of the people who played this weekend!
----
Lesson Learned:
I based the Actions in the Challenge off 1 days worth of stats from the new Game Mode. More Data would clearly have been preferable.
We needed a way to increase the frequency of a particular Game Mode as a voting option. Currently, we can only adjust Map weighting. However, Mode weighting functionality should arrive with our May patch, so in future mode-related events we won't have this particular issue again.

We hope everyone enjoys the Consolation Prize as things return to normal in the Quick Play Queue.
Our next event will target Faction play....
Rally your Units and Lock in your contracts...

Hi Matt

Thanks for the acknowledgement and apology. I am sure I speak for quite a few when I say that is far more than expected, especially the consolation prize.
If I can add one thing to lessons learned is that over a weekend you need to empower one of your employees to respond to any growing development (read crisis), for me personally that was the most frustrating aspect, it felt like we were posting on a dead thread without the usually quite good responses from PGI.
Big thanks for also shedding some light on the reasoning, I think for the most part the community can accept something if they know the reason behind it. Sure we wanted the game mode to feature more, but the response that it is configured by map appearance did help (I don't see why a map probability tweak wasn't attempted as this would have increased the chances a bit by removing the unsupported maps). I am very happy to hear that you will be implementing this ability in future, it opens up a lot of potential for future events.

As a thanks from my end I will be ordering some Wave II heros over the weekend.

I have to say, a really nice gesture on the part of PGI...

Never have I seen them admit a mistake in such a big way..

They might actually be growing as a company Posted Image

I did sorta expect them to extend the event and modify the challenges, but this apology took me by surprise..

The ONLY thing I think they could have done better is the fact that it's not nearly highlighted enough on the front page.. If I didn't click the event page, I would have completely missed it.. so yeah..

But still.. well done PGI.

Apology accepted. Posted Image

I wanted the 2 Warhorns since I do not spend real money on this account. I finished all of them except for this one. And I tried 10 times for it. Very disappointing.

How did 25% get the "All Done" , but only 22% get Delivery Failed? Didn't you originally need to complete them all to get "All done"?

i was wondering too

total completion % can not be any higher as the lowest completion % of any other

The overall intent was sound, but implementation was a little off.

Really great response after seeing the feedback. Can't ask for more than that, a class act and really says a lot about the care for the game. Well done PGI.

That was a nice gesture! I was getting mad by trying to get Incursion map the last days of the event and to accomplish the delivery failed Mission. Appreciate that very much! Thanks PGI!

Thanks to the PGI for a good solution to the problem with the "failed delivery". This task was really very difficult, the performance of which was more to do with luck than with the skill and perseverance of the pilot.
I believe that the right decision was made. Thanks for the good prizes, thank you very much for the bonus prizes.
In general, I liked the new mode. He has, of course, some small problems, but I think that with time they will be corrected.
Once again many thanks.

Hi,

Thanks PGI. I have to admit I was a little frustrated this year with a failed purchase of one of the pre-orders.

Your events, your willingness to change things and listen to the clients is good. No business is perfect, but I think you guys make an honest attempt to keep Battlemechs a virtual reality for so many of us.

Excellent... and MANY THANKS. Love the new game mode (not a fan of squeamish) and enjoy the new game modes that PGI are coming up with. Games where there is a little thinking and strategy to it besides brawling. But it was a little frustrating trying to get the elusive unicorn of fuel carrier. Got all the rest but that one. Thanks for adjusting requirements especially as incursion didn't come up very often at times.

Although I got all 9 achievements, still need to say this: Classy move PGI. Thank you.

We get it, weekend duty sucks. I pretty much did not expect any response to this thread during the weekend.

Here is a suggestion - start events on Thursday to:
1. satisfy Aussies
2. get a chance to respond to any feedback before going off for the weekend

Also, perhaps having someone go over the forum posts from the main page 5 or 6 times a day during the weekend when an event is running may be smart. Just so he could write something along the lines of "point taken, we will investigate". At least acknowledging a problem gives you a head start - people see you interact and are OK with you to do your thing and post a solution at a later date. We can understand that there is nobody at work on a weekend. The lack of any kind of feedback can be extremely frustrating though.
