We can see that there are two kind of people when it comes to case of refund. This who want to get back the same thing that they spent and this who just don't care as long as they get something different but they fine with this different thing. I think both have their point. But I also think that there should be options to let everyone chose what way is more suitable for him.

I am fine with choice because I collect mechs and GSP looks good to me for insta-leveling or re-speccing for MRBC.

I get that some people would prefer cbills, so I advocate for a piecemeal trade-in system, but I totally get that they intended that your investment in Mech Enhancement should hypothetically stay in mech enhancement.

My proposal is to simply give us the ability to sell blocks of GSP for cbills so we get the choice and if I want to I can sit on them until I need them as GSP or as CBills. That way everybody gets what they want.

I totally support this one.

I might have missed it, if it has already been answered, But will i get historic-SP on Variants i have already mastered, but no mech standing in my hangar (due to being sold).

As far as I know you get an amount of H.S.P. for your unlocks multiplied by the amount of mechs you have form this variant, which would mean no H.S.P. if you don't own that mech anymore?

You get H.S.P. for all your mechs even if you no longer own them! Yay!
Though you will not get any G.S.P. for mechs you don't own a copy of.

The question is now if you get it for Mech you never owned like the trials?

Trial mechs? Oh come on man. It's just ridiculous. Posted Image

1 thing that puzzles me is the C-bill refund date.

"Refund Process: The starting point for receiving C-Bill refunds from Owned Modules is now December 3rd 2016, rather than February 8th 2017. This new date coincides with the first announcement of the new Skill Tree"

Surely the C-Bill refund should be for modules purchased before the announcement of the new skill tree and not for modules purchased after the announcement.

Originally it was, but I think they changed that when they decided to give us HSP on our existing mechs...

Their original logic was to give us the CBills back to help offset the cost of speccing out our mechs, but with the creation of HSP, I suspect they were concerned about the flood of cbills affecting the economy in game...? Not sure they ever gave us a clear reason, but this makes the most sense is that the original expectation was for financing respeccing. The fact that CBills can be used for so much more lends to the law of unintended consequences (corollary to "no good deed goes unpunished").

The bottom line is that GSP accomplishes the original intent of the cbill refund as they see it while preventing players from purchasing 500 XL400 engines on a whim...

Since they announced the refund on dec 3rd, any module purchase made thereafter could be argued to be done so under the pretense that you would be refunded those cbills eventually.

There was no such promise in place prior to Dec 3rd so apart from the announcement itself, and due the the subsequent changes in the skill tree implementation, they apparently felt it prudent to address the refund as such.

Consider, they could have just as easily said "You're getting HSP on all your mechs so you don't really need this module refund at all, so *poof*"

Yes, I can see how some people may have been counting on that full refund, but if you've been around long enough, you know nothing is set in stone until the patch button lights up. That's all games, not just this one...

This Refund is a Slap into my Face!

30 Mechmodules and 27 Wep-Modules. Thats ~ 250 Mill C-Bill, which i spent much Time and Work for.

For around 60 Modules I will get 0 (!!!!!!!) not even one single C-Bill.

I m forced

[...]

Sorry PGI, I take it back.

I Overreaded the Part, that every GSP Point save me from paying 45.000 C-Bill. So its a win, not a loss:

These General Skill Points can be consumed to unlock Skill Nodes for any 'Mech you wish without needing to spend the usual 45,000 C-Bill and 800 XP cost associated with purchasing a standard Skill Point directly.

@Movin-Target: U are a little Troll and you should think a lot about your tone. And btw, at all my Accounts have more Stuff than yours. So who the Hell are you? Wait wait wait. I DONT CARE ^^

Sorry if I came across as a troll, you may very well have more stuff... i only pointed out the 60 modules is not that many.

Just remember, the way for you to get people to care about your opinions and needs is to reciprocate in kind...

It may be 3062 but the golden rule still applies... :)

Or you can assign some people with a particular set of skills to plant some surprises for your adversaries. In style of Katherine Morgan Steiner-Davion. It's 3062 after all. Posted Image

Deliberately trolling or just ignorant ? Very hard to tell on here. Roughneck leaderboard and Incursion challenge ended the 25th...the PTS2 began on the 26th and went to the 28th.

Yeah, I was being a bit snarky, there. Sorry. Posted Image At the same time, the event was over before the pts, so in my mind it was in the past and forgotten by the time the pts rolled out. I will agree with you that the pts should have been extended through the next weekend and maybe incentivized somehow.

Yes...but the movement system treated direction changes and torso twisting the same for all mechs regardless of their mass. That a cicida or assassin with a 320 engine... has the same movement points as a locust with a 160... does not mean the locust is more agile than the 40 ton mechs (unlike in this game).

There is some separation in the fictional science behind the systems and the TT ruleset.

I want to know: what happens to `Mechs we've not mastered before the new skill tree is released. I mean, I've barely touched the Cyclops, and still, others have not been used as of yet, like my forthcoming Javelin. What happens to those `Mechs that haven't been released?

Nothing "happens". You earn C-bills and Xp and spend it on the skill tree as you play the mech.

There's a breadown of how many SP each of the current unlocks is worth in the initial post I believe. Other than that unlocking SP is on you and your (in game) wallet.

Check the OP, they detail how much each current skill is worth in HSP... if you get them all, they add up to 91, they are multiplied by the number of duplicates of the variants you have. So if you got the collector's Cyclops Pack, and mastered the one that is the collectors (S) variant, you'll get 182 HSP, 91 for the (S) copy and 91 for the "normal" one...

You'll start from scratch on new mechs unless you are refunded GSP from older modules... You can use those on any mech, (kind of like GXP works now)

If PGI are so intent on breaking the game, easiest thing to do is just run your 'mechs without the skill tree and hang on to your real life cash. If like me you are a semi-casual player, you've probably built up a garage of 'mechs from CBills and from RL purchases, stick to in-game currency from now on and PGI will notice . . even if it's a drop in revenue to spend on MW5

At the end of the day, PGI are going to do what they want whether the player base agrees with the changes or not, never have paid much attention, never will unless it hurts their purse strings, so don't worry to much, they won't.

Yeah they didn't do themselves any favors by taking so long to implement the skill tree... Once the stopgap skill system became generally accepted, it was going to be hard to wean us off when we weren't there for the original promise of a skill tree...

I'm hoping this is a lot of blowback over change and with tweaking it will get to a good place.
