In that situation, they were whined about above and beyond PGI's ears want to listen to.

This is closer to the minimap debacle that even when told it was bad, it was going live anyways (which resulted in a hotfix soon after for obvious reasons).

PGI's comments suggest closer to what I'm talking about. I don't think there has been enough "complaints" to warrant "rethinking" the entire tree in any semblance (whether it's refunds or how the tree functions).

and yes, on the minimmap...hofixed.... the part many people try to minimize.

Still inferior to what we had before.

It's going live whether you whined about it or not.

It's already a documented PGI MO.

I'm resigned to it, and even starting to get a bit enthusiastic about it.

I've been looking at the skills tree as the abandonment by the devs of all that I came to this game for: nostalgia for the original BT mechs and the childhood they reminded me of. The skills tree and its associated changes will kill nearly all the mechs I once held dear from that childlike perspective, and at first that enraged, saddened and bewildered me.

I'd been considering taking a good long break from the game until if/when PGI comes to its senses and fixes these mechs but then all of a sudden I stopped caring. I realized my nostalgia fix had been sated, and now? I guess I am willing to at least try the new game PGI is creating with this change: metamechs online.

The skills tree changes are going to make me -as a player of the game...not just a fan of the IP and what it represented to a younger version of myself- but as a player of THIS game, to adapt to change by finally abandoning mechs that have always been second rate in THIS game and finally embrace the game PGI really wants us to play. A game with a dozen or so objectively superior mechs and everything else just left for flavor. I have now accepted that and am even getting a bit excited about this new game

So yes, all my low tier IS mechs are turned to crap. That's OK, because now I get to have an excuse to join everyone else I see in group queue in their Night Gyrs and Hunchback IIcs, and Mad-IIcs and the rest of the PPFLD overlords. Lore is no longer a barrier and I am now longer confined by the self-imposed restrictions of nostalgia.

I'm ready for my Night Gyr and Hunchback IIc future Mr. Bullock and for that I suppose I must thank you.

Hey there.

I really think that public testing is the way to go for anything, at least in games, today. so I'm VERY puzzled that you shutdown the server right BEFORE people have a lot of time to test there.
2 days of testing (or in case of germany and other countries 3 with a holiday after the weekend) simply not put to use.. pls change that in the future.

also, your whole policy on "things being done right now" really needs a redo. what's the hurt in simply telling people from when to when the server will be on? what's the hurt in doing constant testing?

see, here's the thing. you are a company, and you have a product.
you have lots of customers who want to help you improve your product, for no additional cost.
use that!

related and a simple suggestion:
do more public tests. do them all the time. maybe in 7days steps so there ALWAYS is at least a weekend in it.
use some form of survey to quickly gather the data out of it that you want/need. example:
after every game, a survey pops up with "how do you like the change we put in this weeks test? a) great b.) too good c) too bad d) don't care e) "here's what I like/don't like...[]"

maybe give ppl a bit of extra for that like a 10mc-key per test&survey or a supply-cache-key. ppl will do way more testing and you get a ton of data out of it.
costs you nothing or at least next-to, improves your product, shows tons of good-will and makes the customers happy.
don't make life so hard on yourselves. Posted Image

It was available last weekend during the event...

Honestly they need to make the PTS sessions INTO events and give prizes to participate. Reward players that play x number of matches, do different things, etc on their live accounts. CBill, MC, and other minor rewards would be enough to get people to play the PTS which doesn't affect their live accounts otherwise.

Hey! Its done, adapt, deal with it and look at the bright side Posted Image Now all islanders, cheapskates ( clearly Im one, I couldnt care less), c-bill capitalists, revengeful salty black knights, comfort zoners and even us with good contructive critisim people.

We all could RISE UP NOW and hazzel the living bejazze out of PGI to adjust node values, add special nodes for variants/ chassi to make them more unique and limit bonuses on strongmechs vs weaker mechs and so on. Revolution! Posted Image

ONE OF THE BIG ISSUES IS WE DONT GET TO SEE WHICH OF OUR MODULES ARE DEFINATELY FROM BEFORE DEC 3RD SO WE CANNOT SELL THEM BACK AT HALF VALUE COZ WE CANT BE SURE THEY ARE NOT ONES THAT WE WOULD GET FULL REFUND FROM. COZ THEIR PTS WAS SET TO FEB 8TH.

I cant remember what modules I bought before / after dec 3rd and I want to sell about half my pre dec 3rd modules back at 50% value so im not sitting on 75+ mechs of GSP, just 30 worth. Cant do that unless they give us PTS with the correct date for the ledger.

well, the patch notes about taking down PTS 2, sounds like it is going back up with another update.

Seams like a fairly big update.. (not saying they couldn't leave it running till then, but my guess judging by no people in the que, they just took it down, and are going to add the new patch/update and put it up sometime next week? Its possible.. I hope they do, as i like to see what changes the firepower tree is getting, And the new start date for conversion/refund.

It also has a lot of fixes.. so that's good. The first 2 on the list are the main ones i am interested. Though i do think the trees will need some balancing, but really IMO that really needs live to do that. Are movement/weapon/structure balanced well, that is an issue i think that will need tweaking

• Firepower Tree: Improvements to reduce 'gating' issues, particularly in the initial portions of the Tree. While Weapon-specific Node investments will still be required for maximizing specific Universal Nodes, these changes will enable more direct access to Universal Nodes without the level of investment required into Weapon-specific Nodes seen in the latest PTS build.

• Base Quirk fixes for a number of 'Mechs with incorrect value entries, such as the Negative (detrimental) Quirks for the Assassin

• MASC: Adjusting base values to address inflated Deceleration behavior.

• MechLab (Consumables): Fixing an issue where the Loadout Alert text was incorrectly formatted.
• MechLab (Consumables): Fixing an issue in the Loadout Error window where a Consumable slot violation was still being referred to as a Module slot violation.

• Cool Shot Consumables: Fixing an issue where using your first of two Cool Shots in a match would cause the entire bar to deplete.

• Cool Shot Consumables: Fixing an issue where using a Cool Shot would cause various issues with subsequent Consumable uses of different types.

Cool Shot Consumables: Fixing an issue where using a Cool Shot wouldn't display the standard cooldown bar within in the HUD icon.

• Refund Ledger: Categories will now be expanded by default.[/color]

• Refund Ledger: Clicking the 'Close' button when viewing the information pane will now take you back to the main Ledger, rather than closing the Ledger itself.

Refund Process: The starting point for receiving C-Bill refunds from Owned Modules is now December 3rd 2016, rather than February 8th 2017. This new date coincides with the first announcement of the new Skill Tree.
