So... you are saying it should be postponed yet again??? I Agree!!!!!! Postpone the Skill Maze just like Energy Draw... FOREVER!!!!!!!

Under the current system with the GSP, yes. I mean, the big whiney babies have been adressed with the HSP......there was no need whatsoever for the implementation of the GSP!

To be honest.....I do not see the sense in any skill system! Get rid of the current system and just quirk the mechs that need them. Done!

RAC's are covered in the ballistic section of the skill tree and what skills should there be for stealth armor? We do not have skills for endo and ferro either......

The ballistics have special skills for LBX and UAC, so why not for RAC? Shorter warm up time before firing, for example. No need for stealth armor skills, because Endo and FF don't have any? Well. if stealth armor was just there to spare some weight, you might be right. But as stealth armor directly interferes with the heat build up, a skill or two would be helpful.

Or, we just act as if the new tools aren't adding really new and treat them like what we have. Yes, then we do not need additions to the skill tree. But why should we need new tech at all, then?

By the way, I don't know if anyone has said this yet. But, if you think this is whining, wait until we go thru this Skill Maze and do the 91 clicks per mech, and get all our mechs right where we want them and think "I'll just play my mechs like this and not have to deal with the Skill Maze again."

But then, out of nowhere, and for no logical reason...PGI nerfs most of the nodes you picked into the dirt, making them useless. Or, rearranges the Skill Maze, turning you build into total crap. And when you go back to the Skill Maze (for another round of teeth grinding, vein popping frustration) and try to rebuild your mechs...pow! You get hit by the respec cost, adding insult to injury. And who's to say PGI won't do it again once you're done fixing what PGI broke.

The whine in this forum is going to sound like a jet engine running at full throttle past red line.

Remember, I said it first...or did I? Posted Image

People should try logging their mouseclicks over an average day before complaining about 91 clicks for a skill tree. How many mouseclicks do you think you average per match?

Folks complaining about excessive mouse clicking in an FPS game just blows my mind. The only way it could possibly be more absurd is if MWO was a MOBA, which is really saying something.

10,000 clicks for most of us. If not more. It's going to be 2 or 3 hours just literally nothing but skilling up mechs -

except we won't. We'll just sell a bunch and not buy new ones for a long time. It's not the worst thing in the world but it's just.... obnoxious. Pointless in a lot of ways.

If you choose to do the skill tree on every mech you own in one sitting, that's on you, LOL.

So 3 hours of not playing the game spread out over several days isn't still 3hours?

Like I said though, not going to happen. Besides, the new update makes anything that isn't top meta even more irrelevant. Won't be a need to. Also eliminates any real reason to get any new mech that isn't the new KDK3.

However the amount of screwing around in the skill tree required for every mech is too high.

Fooling around with mech builds is playing the game, IMHO, so I don't see how fooling around with the skill tree isn't. And I don't hear people complaining about how much time or how many clicks they'll be spending when the new tech hits. But whatever.

It isn't that I don't get the concern, on paper. But if you're someone with hundreds of mechs then it's on you if you want to run some sort of marathon skill tree session. Especially if you're going to try doing the skill trees for more mechs than you would normally even play in one gaming session. I mean, at most, I might run 5-6 different mechs per night. But I've already scanned the skill tree and I have a general idea of what I want to try first, and I don't anticipate it taking me very long to throw something together quickly so I can start jumping into games.

But someone wants to skill dozens and dozens of mechs in a single sitting? Even if they probably won't be able to play all of them immediately? OK...I guess...
