Why say sometimes the purchased mech pack is the better deal? Isn't it almost always a better value for your money?

You're right, because math. Poorly structured sentence is poorly structured to communicate intent.

That said, they probably meant something like,

"While buying individual mechs will be more economical in the short term, we offer a gentle reminder that buying mechpacks will realize greater savings in the long run for those who expect to pick up more than one variant chassis for a mech"

If I said "always" I would expect someone would come up with situations where it is not true.
Then there would be posts about alternative facts and the thread would get derailed..... Oh wait. ;)

Mostly I posted it for the folks who question the sanity of purchasing Assault class mechs with MC. XD

That Bushwacker is one fine mech tho. You should buy it for C-Bills and use your MC to get that Davion Pattern.

Fair enough, I just think mechs purchased in game with MC are almost universally a poor value. But I don't mind spending money on something I spend SO MUCH time on.

*(Wrong place for feedback I know, but...) Until the new skill tree that is when I'll never need any more premium time due to the extreme overabundance of GSP I'm getting*

Love the Bushwacker P1, it's my favorite medium brawler currently. Want a second one to make a streak build for the new tech.

Ooo, Supernova for MC. Imagine the fanfare when a Battlemech that thrives on mounting large energy weapons in large numbers could receive, in a game that differentiates large, medium and small weapon hardpoint sizes.

Unfortunately, it's something that pretty much most mechs can do, which they can do better, in whatever amount they please. Oh, and uh, ghost heat. Yeah. O.o;

I guess I can give the obligatory single clap.
*Clap.*
Enthusiasm!

(But seriously though, Supernova would be an awesome mech in a Mechwarrior with sized hardpoints, as it would be one of the very, very, VERY few 'Mechs that could equip a large number of large energy weapons... oh and uh, ghost heat wouldn't be so much of a thing to curb boating because boating would be more difficult with mechs that have various sized hardpoints. What a shame.)

(Want to add: I love Supernovas. It would just stand out so much more if the game had sized hardpoints, I mean seriously everything on it is big. If you want an energy weapons platform that goes big, it'd be your mech. Sadly anybody can stuff their mech gaggle fest we have means you could take a mech half of its size do the exact same thing if you really wanted to.)

------

Side note, their statement is completely true.
Not just sometimes, in almost every case it is more cost effective to buy an Assault mech from the website's mech packs than it is to buy one for MC, especially Clan mechs (as they are invariably more expensive in MC due to starting with DHS, and usually including XL engines, etc.)

Hi there... Not to be a so-called "Grammar Lunatic", but something seems missing in terms of word flow to the following...

...so perhaps it could use an "a" to repair it, something like...

...in order to avoid tripping up people reading the information? I would like to think it at least makes the intended sentiment easier to read. :)

Also, just randomly curious, but why was the announcement for this delayed by 24 hours? People were poking thoughts at this early yesterday...

Other than that, glad to see something new has arrived on the (C-Bill) and (MC) shelves! I was able to prototype a SuperNova in advance last night. Now I'll just need to wait for the (C-Bill) release! :D

(p.s.: By the way, what's up with the 'New Skill Trees' only giving enough Nodes to benefit Meta-boating pilots? Could we get 120 Active Nodes allowed instead of 91, in order to stop hurting Non-Meta Pilots and New Players? Other games like "Borderlands" will otherwise lay MWO's system to shame! (And yes, I understand this last set of questions may get ignored because you're either not allowed to answer or something, but they had to be asked.))

Silly question:

Was there an announcement for when last years loyalty 'mechs went on sale for MC? I'm spotted them in the store a couple of days ago and was expecting it to be announced with these 'mechs.
