Wrong.

Clan mechs will fire snowballs.

Inner Sphere mechs will fire portable Long Toms.

Well at this point all I can say is PGI should rename faction play again...FP should now be known as Spawn Camping mode. Do you enjoy playing one mech for 2-3 minutes and then watching your remaining 3 die in under 5 seconds? If so then Spawn Camping mode is the game mode for you!!!

Seriously though, the rewards were great but the event stopped being fun after the 2nd day when the event devolved into the same issues that has been there since day one...small groups+solo payers primarily dropping against 10-12 man groups with co-ordinated drop decks walking through the small groups+solo team like a hot knife through butter until they get to the dropships and can kill the small group+solo teams mechs almost instantly. As appealing as that might be to some folks, to me its just no fun on either side of the results...being in a large group farming teams of mostly solos is as "unfun" as being on a mostly solo player team going up against teams of mostly 10-12 man groups. PGI you seriously need some kind of match making system for FP regardless of how small the population is

I don't know that they really tried a solo pug-vs-pug queue - wasn't this at the same time they introduced Freelancer/Mercenary paths and Freelancers get basically no 'loyalty' rewards.

While Mercenary was almost equivalent to a new 'faction' so even folks who had maxed out their loyalty rewards in an actual faction could basically start over from the beginning for new mech bays, etc...all they had to do was be in a unit, even if in a unit of oh say 1 person. Ahem.

If they wanted to make an apples to apples comparison they should have given Freelancers at least some rewards, perhaps a Freelancer 'faction' similar to Mercenary that has a loyalty awards path, so that you have reason to stick with it even if you face an occasional queue/search time.

There's no reason not to add loyalty awards to Freelancers now in fact, and to try separating queues again.

Unless the real goal is to guarantee that Freelancers and a solo queue are always less appealing in an effort to say 'well we tried it and it was worse than before'.

It was fun playing in team drops, but it is a PUG slaughterhouse on the other side regardless of the tech base.

Otherwise pug renobs will be dropping in lrm lights and mediums looking to farm bonuses.

I'm having a issue finding matches all the sudden starting with yesterday(Friday). Something up with servers or amount of people or is this just me not finding a match because I'm a lone wolf lol >.>

Sad too, one match away from completing most of the personal objectives.

More people went Clan due to how the last 2 events went. .Now it is almost instant drop on IS side

Balance the game for crying out loud. This game has been out for years now and you still haven't managed to balance the Clans and IS. The only use that has come out of this tournament is to see how grossly imbalanced this game is. The highest I saw IS in the tug of war was maybe 15%. Most of the time it was under 5%. If this isn't a wake up call, I don't know what will be.

And I will hear, "More people play the clans," or, "All the best groups play clans." Why do they do it? They are better mechs. Those of us who actually want to play IS mechs might actually want to stand a chance. They have higher alphas, longer range and don't die when they lose a shoulder with an XL engine. These are the same problems that this game had a year ago, and you've done nothing.

My W/L ratio is about 50/50 in quick drops. Why? Because it's not faction, just random mix. IF you can't get it right, which by all signs you never will, just make faction play open to choose any mechs, IS or Clan, for both sides and you will finally have balanced play. I don't want it to be like this, but Pirahna seems completely inept in there ability to get this most basic fundamental right.

I dropped with IS groups, pug matches, and everything in between during this tournament. We won maybe 1 in 10 matches. I quit this game for over a year and haven't spent a dime on it in forever, and this is the reason...and you STILL haven't fixed it.

The event is about to end, I've much played it and much enjoyed it, ah how could I not enjoy, fighting as Clanner.

It was specially nice to take loadouts that I wouldn't dare to take in quick play as my team would just abandon, or which are not just good enough to really enjoy. But in FP people stay together better.

Rewards and stuff is nice too, but the gameplay was better.

The balancing effort is on-going. As it has been since the game's release. Honestly we had it pretty good before the Clans showed up to ruin the whole thing.

We're getting engine dsync that will help IS that tend to run smaller engines. And in June they're going to be doing a balancing pass on all energy weapons in the game. Then the following month we get the new tech. They've also promised other balancing measures be taken, but can't shine any light on those ideas yet.

All hail the mighty Scouting Mode!

As a suggestion, perhaps PGI would like to monitor and report on how the leader boards were produced? Would be interesting to see how some Units picked up the equivalent of 38 - 40 full unit FW drop wins in a matter of a few hours . . . or whether as most folk have realised, the overall score can be drastically skewed by relying on Scout Drops . . . and that affects Clan and IS leader boards alike.

Perhaps an adjustment after the competition has completed to show what the FW weighting would have provided rather than the combined drop scores would give a differing picture to the final positions.

Scouting isn't FW and isn't the best way to encourage newer folk to take up arms for their respective Houses or Clans in proper FW . . . this event started OK, but has potentially sold itself short (again).
