Well, I'm pretty sure the salt will flow very freely upon that date.

I'll be there to collect and share.

Salt certainly.
But also legitimate sorrow for what PGI is doing to my content and the very aspects that brought me to the game and has kept me playing it for more than two years. Not to mention also, a tad bit of contemptuous disgust at what they are doing to their own past efforts at balancing their game and totally acting contrary to their stated goals. Then again maybe all of those responses are just flavors of salt. Sea salt vs mined salt vs that fancy pink Himalayan salt, etc.

Hmm. Now I need a Bloody Mary.

I'm going to do a few things, in order...
  • Master anything that is close to or part way through Mastery. Not doing so would result in not getting the skill points represented by the XP value, even if it were sitting at 21499. The system, during the last PTS, only counted XP that was allotted as skill points.
  • Top off anything not into the Master stage to get as many skill points as possible.
  • Evaluate the patch notes before the skill tree drops as to refunds and skill point allotment.
  • Calculate the skill points needed to flesh out my remaining Mechs.
  • Sell off any modules I will not get a full refund on, based on the patch notes and the above calculation of skill points, leaving a healthy surplus of skill points for a few Mech additions in the future.

Dunno ... actual i dont really care about cbills anymore.

So far i have 90 Mechs, on this account, most o them masterd.
The gsp payback will me allow to master 125 more and the cbills i get back are enough to get me 2 lances of dwfs(if i would want them).

Maybe i buy a few copycats of the mechs i play the most, but their is no real need for this.

I would prefer not to either, but again, what use is 280 mastered mechs worth of GSP to me? All 116 of my current mechs will already get 91 pts automatically assigned for use, and I've already more or less theory-crafted min/maxed PGI's poor excuse of a skill-tree, so I'm not going to really be tinkering with it (not to mention that most of my mechs will have 500k+ legacy XP to use)

Yep.

And as a result of ST - Any variant with rubbish mounts I am selling in favour of buying the BEST variant of that mech.

Given I have so much EXP on decent variants, I'll be able to run the best of the best - all the time no matter what.

Pity Skill Tree will essentially make the people that want to play well, only run the same variants as opposed to the current system where some quirks make up for some average hardpoint locations.

Careful Ash,

Remember per the official announcements and Russ's various comments, PGI is going to be dedicated to iteratively balancing from here to eternity to make sure that all the mechs are competitive. So in other words, after the skills tree breaks those mechs with "rubbish mounts" even more than they are already broken. PGI in historical form, will swing back in the opposite direction and over compensate. All the mechs you sell might be for a time the new god-tier mechs (until of course they again overcompensate back). As a competitive player you could be screwing yourself out of the new Cataphract 4X meta!

Classic PGI

Edit: here's a link to the laat iteration of the skill tree on PTS (its supposed to change a little bit prior to going live) https://kitlaan.gitlab.io/mwoskill/

On the surface, it looks like lots of customizing, but really, there's only 2-3 different combinations of must-haves

its ok after 6 or more years ive finally trained myself not to be dissapointed or surprised (unless it was something actually GOOD lol)

Yeah, we get refunded in skill points but I wanted to know if c-bills would be better than skill points?

Do we get something like GXP points?

I sold all my modules that i bought before new year, to make sure i get my cbills back.
Now I buy whatever module I want, because in few weeks i'll get all the cbills back. Right? RIGHT? I kind of get nervous reading this thread. Once again, please. What refund do we get for unlocking modules? What refund do we get for modules, bought with cbills before new year? And what refund do we get for modules, bought with cbills after new year?

Given that will take 6-9 months. I'll have plenty of cbills should any of the super crap variants actually become great again, which after the last 12 months, I'm not so sure about.

Also another pearler - remember Russ's other stance on "moving away from quirks"? It doesn't sound like Russ actually has and idea. I mean, we know Paul's balancing is all about whack-a-mole.

I'd hang a tire swing up if we could customize our mech bays after five years. Then i'd make my fully cusomizable avatar to be an anthro wolf for when i play clan wolf. Arwwoo! Maybe even put in that new play cat magazine standing cockpit item. Or I'll just skip playing mwo in july watch mwo crash n burn in salt and grease for a month while waiting for a hot fix to fix whatever pgi breaks in September.

I'm torrenting as many games as half of my HDD will hold.. and getting them set up with the proper mods. (Seriously, who would run a Bethesda game in its vanilla state?)

I plan on leaving the game until the new tech arrives, then making the decision to come back or uninstall.

I'll still keep some forum tabs and Outreach on standby to read about how pissed off people are and how badly PGI screwed it up, though. (..but I won't be eating popcorn; it's bad for your colon.)

In case that it doesn't work I'll use yours, but to be honest I think that I'll use the lube first and then I'll have to use your cream.

It's going to hurt...

I've been leveling the odd mech and saving for new tech and because ST doesn't inspire me to buy many new mechs.

What should I do with surplus gxp? Level mechs or unlock pilot skills (that I don't use)?

Sell all IS mechs. Buy all clan mechs. Move to clan on FP and Civil War(because let's be honest. PGI promised us IS vs. IS FP months and months ago and no height or hair of it since. Isn't going to happen for Civil War either). Laugh at anyone who stays IS.

Think of surplus GXP or the gobs of extra SP as a decoration. Think of them like jewelry. They are big shinny numbers to decorate your UI with but you won't actually use them for much of anything unless you get really desperate.
