Actually I'm pointing out that you the playerbase wants accuracy in the patch notes.. this is something that takes a lot of time and based on the scale of this patch.. is something we do not want to rush.

Yes, that's a fair point.

Main issue is we haven't had any updates since PTS 2 went down and we are all sitting here wondering what the heck to do with our modules - and without the notes it's not something many of us want to make a decision on.

Then, once we have the notes, we need to log in and spend time selling all the modules that we think makes sense for us.

Beyond that, people likely want to get a headstart on planning out some of the hundred+ builds they want to remaster this week to allow for more playtime.

Probably why so much consternation.

With the game (FP and group queue) broken until tomorrow at least I have an evening to digest the notes (assuming they drop soon) and start the selling process without pesky things like playing the game getting in the way.

So that's nice. I guess.

Again.. understandable. Alex is working his magic.. even my post about the delay puts even more pressure on him... it's a lot of info and I know he's doing his best to get it all wrapped up as tight as he can. There is just so much information, so much that you need to know as a player that I swear he's popping antacids like they're going out of style. I just ask for patience.. he is always looking to make sure the player is informed and the effort is always outstanding.

Even with the amount of constant proof reading and iteration that we all help him do in terms of making sure he has the right information for his writeups, there is always a chance of something squeaking by. You'll notice that he's always the first one to hit the forums/Reddit when it comes to correcting anything that was missed or corrected in the patch notes. It's because he's always watching you.. not in a creepy way.

All I can say at the moment is that we've been supporting him as much as we can as he preps this post for you all. He hasn't stopped with the edits/formatting all day. I don't think he's eaten lunch today either.

Please just have a little patience.. he's working like mad trying to prep for you.

Players have to realize that these notes are typically the only place we can refer to for official reference and information.

Typically most of the details are left out in-game. So be thankful we will be getting a thorough post that will hopefully answer all of our questions, in detail, so we don't go months without said info.

Hell, I still reference old patch notes for specific numbers where necessary. Aside from code diving, it's all we got. Unless a dev graces us with an answer in a thread.
(more specific to extremely old mechanics, but the skill tree will be one of these giant updates that requires a large data dump, as will the Civil War tech.)

Paul,

Some of us understand, we've waited before. Just one of those days in the year where we need to know soon, or else we miss out D:

But anyways, thanks for the tweaks on the skill tree I read earlier today, and we wait patiently for Alex to post :)

Is Alex the only one who can do the patch notes? Is that like me at my job where I'm the only one who can't take a break so everyone else can?

Seriously though, maybe even delay the patch a single day so we can do our thing. I'm not going to get the chance to read the notes at this rate until I get off my job tomorrow around 4pm pst.

Sure i guess. But to mount SRMs there means no arty. That's just 5 SRM6s at max srms, or 90 LRMs with 2x LRM15 + 2x LRM20 + LRM10. At best it would be troll build, but it wouldn't really be a game-breaking pay to optimize, just pay to be different.

Please PGI, make this happen. :)

Its not the water itself that is the problem for electronics, its the stuff floating around in the water. DI water (Deionized) will not short out your computer if you spill it all over.

Can we get one thing clear? This is not acceptable.

Paul, we understand your reasons, it's a lot of information and it takes time to get right, but the player base needs to have access to patch notes at least two days before a major patch hits, especially one of this magnitude that would affect buy/sell decisions.

If getting the patch notes right takes until the 17th of May, the patch should be released on the 19th. If the patch absolutely needs to be released on the 17th, then the patch notes should have been given a hard deadline for the 15th as well.

This is a fundamental issue that PGI doesn't seem to understand: There are unwritten expectations that must be fulfilled to maintain player satisfaction. The fault does not lie with Alex, who's working his *** off I'm sure. The fault lies with failing to understand that patches and patch note releases are inextricably linked events that need to have deadlines that correspond properly with one another.

Who cares about arty? I've always liked brawling instead of lobbing LRMs at people. It's exciting to be up front smashing them instead from a distance :)

Well, at this point, it's too late for the Euros to do much of anything, unless they pull all nighters and stay home tomorrow/today.
