For those that are a little lost on how to get Skill Points on to a mech, try this link:

https://mwomercs.com...the-skill-tree/

Hope it helps...

Can someone point me please into main topic about the new skill tree? Or can I leave me opinion here? Always I was like "everything new is fun" but not this time. After looking at the new skill tree I have only one thought in my mind "Heroes and generals or war thunder?". Too bad that I still have about month in premium time here.

I have the warning telling me I have skills that do not apply, without telling me WHICH skill(s). I have pulse lasers and an ECM. Only parts not on all mechs. Weird and kinda frustrating

I don't have enough interest in the game at the moment to overcome the dread of clicking on 91*245 mechs = 22,295 little hexagons.

I'll check back in mid-June to see if the current skill tree is still in place.

Maybe this is the PGI business plan. I'm in possession of two years of premium time that may never get used.

Later.

Could also be skill points in UAV or Cooling without appropiate modules equipped.

Of course if you look at it like that it is monumental, but I dunno about you but I don't use all 300 of my mechs so I will just skill up the the 20 or so I want handy while my unit is IS and worry about the 20 or so I use when we go clan later and the rest will get addressed when I realize I have a good reason to skill them up.

Holy ****.

why did this need to happen?

I come to this game to escape terrible tools and mind-numbingly boring processes to get things done.

I just spent another $100 on this game yesterday and I see that was a mistake. If PGI cant see how somehting this complex pisses me off cause is keeps me away from the combat I want to play, then maybe I do need to just count this game a loss.

Seriously, I know I am over reacting a bit, but I haven't done one drop tonight and feel I wasted millions of C-bills trying to get a handful of mechs back to the Master level they were. But that is not really defined anylonger...

I didn't sign up for sometime that causes stress - its a game, make it fun again!

I play this game almost every day, I have played both Clan Mechs and IS Mechs extensively over multiple accounts, but I have decided to stick with my main account now because multiple accounts drive me nuts. I briefly switched to clans because I keep wanting Clan Mechs to be good, but they are just not what they should be and I do better in IS Mechs. Almost no one plays with stock Mechs, so comparing stock builds is a poor argument. Clan Mechs are supposed to be better, but in this game they either only better in a few areas, or they are actually more limited than IS Mechs. When my deserter phase is over, I will be IS only again. Do I claim to be the best player?...no, but I occasionally have my moments. So assume what you will, because I really don't care.

They need to say the same thing they said about 3PV (which they promised would never be in the game) and tell us that "it is here to stay" and to "deal with it".

I assume based on your comment about IS Nerfs should go away and make the whole game around skill with no buffs or quirks to IS mechs to be a completely dumb and ignorant comment. Quirks and buffs bring some level of parity to IS mechs compared to clan. Notice I said "some" ... Clan Mechs due largely to the advantages of Clan XL engines will always be better for that reason not even considering the major range advantages of C-SPL / C-ERML or the strong play of Clan Gauss +ERPPC.

Sucks that you play daily yet still don't understand the game. I feel bad for you.

I just sent a feedback email. I am thinking it won't get read, but maybe...

Oh, and I just tried to read the patch notes explanation of how to use the new Skill Tree.

If I wanted to spend that much time not playing this game - I'd just log back into work.

This skill tree has made the game less fun than work!!!

Well, I don't normally post on forums, however, I feel the need to speak up here. I have been a constant player of this game for the better part of four years now and have endured UI changes, quirk passes, re-quirk passes, mech rescaling, a lack of new maps and unimaginative game modes. Throughout it all, I have been silent because I still found the game enjoyable. No more. Its been fun guys, but if this is the state of the game I'm done. Not sure if I'll finish MRBC this season I may try, but interest is low. I'll see you guys when MW5 drops, unless it too has a skill tree.

A tutorial video would have helped a great deal to ease transitioning to the new skill tree.

Some adjustments to the skill tree would make it more user friendly. I suggest:
Please give us the ability to click to any place of a skill tree, autopicking the skill points to that place. That would save us so much time.
Give us the ability to set skill templates. Templates could let us put the same skill point build on any mech we want. We could adjust from there.
Right now if you have more than 91 skill points trained, you can not see if you are at 91 skill points. Change the skill tree to show when we reach 91 skill points. This is an issue only if you have trained more than 91 skill points.

Thank you for the effort. Please continue to improve.

I'm a fairly new player. I only own 10 mechs or so. I mastered the Jagers/King Crab's and the Rifleman. I thought the previous system was a ton better than this and a lot less confusing. I've been trying to get my Rifleman 5D to play like it did before all of this garbage and I really can't seem to. I guess I'm going to have to wait for more build guides to hit the net.

Messing around with the tree's I do think 91 points ain't enough and I think that's the main problem with the skill tree system. I'd like to see something more on the lines of 115-120SP or more even. Taking useless nodes wouldn't be such a headache. Also, making things like radar dep so hard to get to is mind boggling, whoever thought that one up must be a LRM spammer :P. Glad I only bought a weeks premium time prior to this patch and so glad I held off on buying a mech pack. I won't be spending now which I had all intentions of doing before this patch. If this was PGI's plan to keep/get new players, they failed.

I much prefer leveling up 3 variants which don't take that long with premium time. That's actually what kept me logging in each day. Now, I can't be bothered to. meh

I feel the same way. I think the skill tree isn't a bad idea ... it just should have come into a "new version" of Mechwarrior. IE ... MW5 and oh hey here is MWO -- II. I had 400 modules and I have owned 300 mechs over time currently 221 mechs.

I don't know what the answer is but putty some tough changes can be good for the long run and if that is the case for this game great. I just am not feeling it right now. Maybe it's the fact I have a massive stable of mechs of which to use I will need to relearn all the mechanics again. I just don't feel up to it.

Finishing MRBC ... man being the NA Division A whipping boy this season I already was hating life. Adding this change onto it ... not very fun.

So I have to pay to unlock a skill node, and then if I try to respec, or God forbid, have fun trying to experiment with different builds, I have to pay again? 400xp is nothing when you average 3k a match, but good God, that's a blatant, unapologetic, grindy time-sink if I ever saw one.

Where the hell is the full Cbill refund price for all my fracking moduels, I don't want this partial refund junk, If I had known you would of done away with modules at some point and not refunded the C'bills in full, then I would of spent those C-bills on Mechs instead, had almost a billion in C'bills

I can't seem to activate anything I would match rather this entire pos be rolled back.

That is the truth - they should have just suspended module purchases rather than partial refund or no refund - whatever it was, I didn't even hear about it until last week.

I didn't like the old system, but I'd rather have seen its expansion rather than it being replaced to something like this. Its hard to navigate and frankly I feel cheated by the "refund" and the learning curve it is taking me to just get a select few mechs back to what they once were.
