I just would have liked to go out for a quick pug - now I have to "re-skill" 91 mechs - all of which have to have an AMS it would seem as it seems it's not possible to get to Radar Derp without going through unwanted skills to get to a complete radar derp. I think this is an epic fail and I think I'll just wait until you have sorted it out.

I really really cannot be bothered to go through all this mess to get back to a worse position than I was in before.

May see you in a few months - perhaps I'll have found something more fun to do by then. If I wanted space accountancy I'd have chosen EVE Online - as it is it seems to me you made Mech Accountant Online actual.

PGI I hope you'll come to your senses and rationalise this - most seem to want to just have some FPS giant clumpy robot rumble fun I think. Not try and play at being like a tax dodging lawyer/accountant.

If you don't sort it I suspect you'll be closing servers before I return - shame really - really use to love this game.

I totally agree with you, DaveRatters!! Staring at this skills page and no idea what's going on! 144 mechs on my name! Time to find another game to keep me busy! Too complicated to break my head on this!

I tried to setup my ARC 5W - thought it might be the case that others have neglected radar derp so LRMs may have been the order of the day - it was fully mastered under the old system - and under the old system I have had damage up to 1188 with it ( 4LRM5 4SRM6 ).

I just took it out and got 89 damage as it wallowed around like a beached whale as I'd used skill points on useless skills like gyro getting to radar derp. Was so unfun.

Not sure what the problem is... it's working fine for me, takes me 3 minutes to do a mech.

Glad somebody is getting on with it - I can't be bothered to rummage around trying to find the best way to get around this crippled design spending 400GXP every time I want to alter it.

I have around 70 mechs, and while I know I only routinely use half a dozen, I doubt serious I will even outfit those six mechs with skills until I do a ton of study and see the the first "correction" patch.

I did and it was terrible - because I'd wasted masses of skill points on things I didn't want to get to radar derp I was left with a floundering whale - my ARC 5W (4LRM5 4SRM6) used to get up to 1188 damage - just played it and got 89 - was terrible. It was previously mastered and was quite fun to play - even busted up lights with the SRMs with it once in a while

Dave, you're trying to tell us that you're running a mixed missile load-out Mech and yet think that bonuses like Target Decay and Target Info Gathering are useless? Don't you think retaining lock-on is important, or maybe being able to target your SRMs into a weakened location would lead to a kill?

I only mentioned radar derp as an example - I also ran with decay of course - but that was also only possible via unwanted skills thus wasting skill points that could have been used for mobility - it is a terrible system and will be the death of the game unless they do something about it

People able to navigate the mechlab, but can't figure out a simple skill tree. I have a feeling people are just cross and need an excuse.

Those nodes you like so much, ya, they were going to cost extra points no mater what. PGI could have skipped gating and just increase costs to 5, 8, or 10 for the most popular / critical ones. But they didn't. Instead they placed nodes along the path that provide a benifit.

I like my benifits. If you don't, just think of those in between nodes as the added cost to you desired, high value nodes.

Who has time to spend mapping all this crap out? I sure don't. This is a waste of time for no net gain.

I'm guessing he meant no net gain for this patch... not the skill tree itself.I spent 30 minutes looking at the tree for my first mech trying to figure out how i could get it to the same spec as before, or even a similar spec.... but i couldn't i had to waste improvement on parts I don't really see as a benefit to get things i had before. So really this is negative gain due to the massive amount of time i would have had to spend re-speccing my mechs.

Ultimately I've lost 6 days of premium time by uninstalling.... but i would have probably have spent 6 days on the couple of hours i play this a night going through all of my mechs.

So does everyone else. It's a new meta, it's fresh, something new to explore. And you figured out the mechlab so you'll figure this one out. The game has always been about customizing mechs and now you can do that even more so.
