Actually, it happened quite a lot with the Kodiak, and not just with AC20 Boomchickens. Firestarter was out-turned, Wolfhound was out-turned, other Ravens were out-turned. All by the Kodiak.
You listed 2 mechs that are outright not good right now, and 1 that is questionable. The WLF variant that runs a huge engine could not be out turned by a KDK...no way. The others should be going 140-150 kph anyway. If you run light mechs below 140 that is on you.
I'll say something that this community will hate.....If lights werent so nimble, fast and had such high DPS, we'd see more 100ts with tons of nodes selected from the Survival tree. Dumping into the Mobility tree for 100ts doesnt give them much gains.
How much more nerfing of the light mech would be enough for you?
ok my 8x2 cac dire is definately superior to any other build. it will chew its way threw armor down to that gooey center and start slamming 8 crit rolls every salvo, the target doesnt survive much past that. just did a 900 damage game in it.
Considering the basic DireWolf speed and frame, it NEEDS to excel at firepower, engine decoupling also should have made the DW naturally more flexible than a kodiak in twist speeds and capacities to give it higher inherent tankability.
It is and has been for quite some time a Dire Whale, or more accurately a whale in dire need of a buff.

I needed torso speed quirks and acceleration quirks in the worst way....
As it is right now most if not all 100 tonners are dead. Even the atlas which was absolute perfection before the patch is pretty dam sluggish now. It NEEDED those quirks it had to get up close and roll damage like a boss but now its just too dam slow....The engine desync only really hurt 95 and 100 ton mechs, Everything else benefitted or stayed the same.

To be fair most of them really weren't in a fantastic place pre patch when compared to stuff like the MADIIC anyway. But yeah they were better off for sure. I don't mind the idea of huge assaults being sluggish to the point of unwieldy vs meds and lights in theory, but there are too many heavies and assaults that are way too fast and way too well equipped that kind of obsolete the extremes like very light mechs and very heavy mechs.
The DWS-S specc'd for Mobility/JJs/Weapons is actually quite powerful, capable of consistently putting out 800+ games when you aren't too slow to even get to the fight (Matchmaker dumping you in Alpha lance light spawn is usually the cause of this), but I wouldn't call the chasis as a whole "good". The S has a place and maybe the W or UV, but the rest of them are hurting.
I think the Dire Wolf is stronger now after the patch.
Just like with other low engine high firepower builds the engine decoupling and general mobility decrease makes it's niche stronger as it's no longer a no brainer to take big engines.
Highest firepower in the game, lowest mobility in the game, seems like a legit tradeoff to me. Definitely one of the hardest mech to play, high risk, high reward.
Kodiak is still good too.
You have to look at this in the context of all other mechs, including lights that are your biggest threat, also being more sluggish. You can't look at mechs in isolation and say "Omg I lost mobility so it's garbage!", because that locust and cheetah also lost mobility.
Just strap in and practice the fine art of slow assault positioning.

See in relative circumstances I can agree, and it can be decked out as a PPFLD or DPS beast better than most (if not all). The problem is it is easily out alpha'd in damage by many builds including certain marauders and kodiaks, who are still much more mobile than the DW. I guess that is where they fall down, but they probably shouldn't, if they are supposed to be that slowest/shootiest style, there should be variants that out alpha everything too IMO with that being the case.
LocationStill doing ungodly amount of damage, but with more accuracy.

Technically the Dire Whale can out-alpha any other mechs in MWO. Ghost heat penalty will be a ***** to deal with but that's another story.
I'm just asking for the dire wolf to be put back "mobility wise" where it originally was when added to the game. It already sucked in terms of torso twist, twist range, and speed. Now it basically developed cancer and has been slowly dying out. Sure in a few months I personally won't care about it, but what was done to it was not right.

You just put mobile in the same sentence as the dire wolf ... think about that for a moment and let it sink in.
Just in the case you have't figured out why that is funny yet ... the dire wolf was never mobile.
