The maximum armour points, with out using the skills ot boost it on a Locust is 24 (combined front and rear), that's the CT not counting the 12 HP inside, the ST's are 20 armour with 10 internals...
You are right, they have about 20 armour, but even running a 16/4 on the ST's for a Locust means yo are still hitting the insides from the front with 20 pin point damage from dual cERPPC's... now if you hit the rear armour on a 16/4 split, then you just murdered it by 6 points of over kill.
The other possibility is, and this is vary common at the start of a match when running a locust is to lose a bunch of armour to the potatoes on your team bumping into you or testing their weapons in your general direction, meaning you lose a bunch of your tissue paper armour to them being idiots.

Physics have a long memory, and a hold a grudge.
Or maybe it's just Paul. It's why one should never get too fond of a Metamech, man. History has shown when things finally do shift, Paul will punish the hell out of the former champs. Just look at how badly Victors and Highlanders and Shadowhawks and such were treated once Quirks came around, for like.... forever.

That being said, I find it amusing that my preferred Bushy the X2 got the best acceleration rate of out the entire chassis line.. Man I am looking forward to the LFE, LFF and UAC/10 for that girl.

Well, rear armor thin, XLs are squishy and if the LCT was reading and buying the MetaCompUberLordKoolAid (and not understanding context at all), he might have had zip for rear armor.
At that range, even 5ish rear armor might have been enough to save his butt, but I don't honestly know what damage a C-ERPPC does at 1600 meters.
But still, it's the LCT drivers own fault... first rule of locust is never stop moving.

If i wasn't such a terrible shot with a PPC id of actually been happy, but more pure luck.

But yea, that makes since, If the splash damage wrapped around the back, or i hit the back.. Maybe he was twisted just enough that i didn't hit his shoulder, and instead just full on back armor. Either way, it was a first! And no pesky locust that match. I almost felt bad.

Don't, he was stupid for stopping in the first place.... reminds me of my first kill against as Raven 3L.... I was using my 2xERPPC Timby with quad ASRM/6, came around a corner on old Terra Therma, right behind him, and obliterated him from behind....

Until you've mastered it properly. Then you can stop moving, because you'll know when it's appropriate to do so!
Ah but so many are convinced they've mastered it.... only to take dual ppc up the tailpipe.
So.... they obviously were not ready to take the pebble from my hand, grubworm!
On a more serious note.... only time you can assume you are not being flanked is if you have all the opfor accounted for.
I've given plenty of "masters" (and in a straight fight, most of em probably would beat me) a complimentary oil change, because they thought they could stop for a second.
