I was playing a game with a main character and 7 supporting agents just after a marathon of my favorite films of all time. Se7en? Like the 4 horseman of the apocalypse, I knew it would be an fun theme to role with, but I needed a name for the protagonist.

A quick trip to Wikipedia gave me some alternate terms and I chose a combination that seemed reverential to me.

My forum name is that of an old D&D character that gained some noteriety within my gaming group to such an extent that his exploits were spread to people outside of our gaming group. He became a legend used to try and draw new people into our gaming group through recounting little stories of the stuff he did.

Mine is fairly simple. While going through the novels it stuck on me that the Timber Wolf (MadCat) was repeatedly emphasized as the epitome of Clan mechanical and technological development. It maybe was emphasized even more than the Dire Wolf (Daishi) which in all its art seemed to be more of a representation of that.

Anyways, I know I was good. And I thought I would meld my name with that of the Mech, sharing in its spirit of being the best war machine the Clans have to offer. Oh yes. If we are all bragging here, I had a fairly consistent 10+/1 K/D ratio by the end of MW4. I wasn't the best pilot, but then I didn't have the best internet connection.

The Gauss Flayer is a gun used in the warhammer 40k universe by my favorite army, the Necrons. Used the name long enough that it's just stuck with me.

Signature represents the concept that the universe works in opposites, and without one end, you can't have the other. At the same time it gives a motivational message that there are many dull things in life, but because of them you can see the jewels even better.

My name was thought out. I am an ambusher that uses stealth and camouflage to take out my target. My motto is "Fangs with an attitude". The Gaboon Viper has the largest fangs of all the venomous snakes 2" plus fangs. The Gaboon lays in wait for hours motionless on the jungle floor masked by the fallen leaves that match near perfect to this large Vipers color scheme. The Gaboon can grow to 5 feet but one has been captured larger than 5 feet measuring 81 inchs. So in the future tread lightly you my become the victom of The Gaboon.

Mine should read Gunther "Wyatt Earp" Elias. We play a lot of tabletop Battletech with a persistent pilot XP kind of system. Gunther is my best pilot who operates in the medium class only for the glory of House Steiner. After several missions where he would break off from his lance mates to hunt down kills he was kind of branded as a "cowboy" so his nickname of Wyatt Earp was born. Unfortunately the system did not accept quotation marks so it looks kind of messy.

How did I get the user name GrimRATS? Well my first ever user name (for Battlefield 1942) came from my dad, RATS, which he told me stood for Recon. Assault. Tactics. Specialist. (heh I cannot live up to that title as a gamer) I quickly realise that as a username in the online community RATS was always taken or not acceptable so it developed to RATS1993 (my birth year) when I was playing Battlefield 2 and 2142. A few year with this made me think, hold on a minute, I do not want people to know how old I am, and at this time I was a massive fan of Warhammer 40,000 (A really Grim, Dark universe set if the future), so thus 1993 was removed and Grim was added forming GrimRATS. Now it stuck with me for quite a few years already, and I do not think I will change it.

Tanek is an old Polish name meaning "Invincible warrior." I've used it for a few different games and I figured it would work well for a simple merc like myself. Only decided to go with my Polish heretige for a name instead of my Irish because we had a family historian research our family tree and I'm apparently decended from Polish nobility. That and so many people are already using Irish names. Had to represent all the Polocks out there

I am a fanatic of Godzilla, movies, toys etc. The name comes from one of Godzilla's allies, that is supposed to be spelled Kingu Shisa. But as Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla was put into English (aka Romanized) it became King Caesar or another popular spelling is King Seesar.

Mine pays homage to 2 of our current great warriors - Anderson "The Spider" Silva and Jon "Bones" Jones. Again i was hoping to utilise some quotation marks for the "Bones" part of the name but alas it was not to be......

The sig is a few things. My name is obvious, no real need to explain that. The Celtic knot is just there because I like them, and figured it would be cool. The Adder gives it a Battletech/MechWarrior twist, plus it is my favorite 'Mech (Can't wait till the Clans invade, just so I can hopefully get my hands on one). Finally, the bit at the bottom is Irish Gaelic for "I have fought and conquered"

Sorry about that IrishWarrior. This is the first of any game I got just plain 'Irish' To many Paddys running around on the Internet
