I usually use Nicodemus (the leader of the Rats of N.I.M.H., not the Pharisee), however that was taken, so... Necrodemus had a morbid ring to it that suited me.

My sig is in reference to Firefly/Serenity.

Oster is short for Osterhagen a village in germany and also it was the name of a project in the Dr. Who universe.

The Osterhagen Project was a planetary self-destruct system. It was meant to be used only if humanity were suffering unbearably, with no hope or help was ever coming. The Osterhagen system was a chain of twenty-five nuclear warheads placed in strategic points beneath the Earth's crust. If the key to the project was used, the system would be activated and the Earth would be ripped apart.

And since my family is from Germany i thought to have a Germanic based name.

Treveli was the name I made up for my first character on the old Star Wars Galaxy RP forums. I eventually started using it as a game name (think because my original name was taken in one game), and I now use it in pretty much every game I play. I can not only claim it as original (I made it up myself), but it also tends to be easy to recognize compared to most other names I've seen, so I spot it in chat text quicker when someone is talking to me.

Simply put, I wanted a solid callsign for when playing the game. All the good ones I had found were taken, so I went to a Norse name listing and scrolled through. Hence I found Asgeir. Means 'Spear of God'. I think that sums it up.

OP, do you really want to hear my reason for my sig? :)

As for my name, I think my Mektek's user name "ninjaturtle" was taken so I chose "dboy", it is from the anime Tekkaman Blade, dboy(danger boy).

Derek Icelord was the first character I ever made in an online game (Guild Wars elementalist waaay back in 2005). I've stuck with it from game to game ever since.

My sig one of my favorite phrases.

After discharge from Marine Corps MW4 was the first game I played online.
Marine Corps.. with a slight tweak became Machine Corps.. which after a while I dropped the Corps because every one just called me Machine.. anyway.

Oorah Marines!

RedHellion...

I used Hellfire for a bit in Left 4 Dead and some other Source engine zombie survival games, and that worked out pretty well and I liked the sound of it. Still, it's not great for everywhere and I tended to get kicked from less flexible servers and was unable to use it due to very rigid name registration checks in some games.

I wanted something that kept the flavour of that name, so I come up with Hellion - the definition matches my sometimes mischievous attitude, plus Hellion was one of my favourite New X-Men due to his awesome ability of telekinesis. I added my favourite colour (Red), and came up with RedHellion.

I've been using this nick for at least the last 3 years in a number of games. Often in FPS or MMO games using VoIP it's shortened to just "Red", which has become my unofficial callsign.

I used to have a canary, he lived a very long 10 years before his passing away of old age. He used to sing to country music all the time so I always kept a little radio by his cage. Im also going to play the scout role and paint all my mechs yellow :)

That and all the other bird related callsigns were taken/overused.
I like to be the guy that stands out ;)

I have been using a version of my nick since before Rainbow 6 the Original, Delta Force 2, etc etc etc. Way back I was trying to get on forums and such and every darn name I was choosing was already taken. So I decided to use a name from 1 of my Fav books.... DUNE. And at that time, I was the only Shataan or Shai`tan etc out there. Egads, these days there are alot of peeps using my nick it seems.

Shai`tan is what the Fremen call the Worms of DUNE.

Heh. I've had LazDude since I was a kid. I went out for laser tag with my buddies, and LazerDude was too long of a nickname for their system, so I shortened it to LazDude. And, now, I'm LazDude. The 2012 is for the whole doom conspiracy thing, and my merc corp in MW4 is LazDude's Hell Shack.

back in 2001 when i first really started getting into gaming on the PC with a few of my friends, I came up with a bunch of handles to use that best described myself, and my friends ended up combining two of them to form the name DreAdeDcoRpSE. Well, in early 2003 I joined my current clan for a game called Return to Castle Wolfenstein and my nic was too long to use with the clan tags so I shortened it to just coRpSE, but still used DreAdeDcoRpSE on the CMS support site I worked on and has stuck with me ever since.
