If the the right direction is a clan on clan sniper mech game then yes. Some people actually like
mechs that move and using something other than gauss pcc. Sorry not really interested in playing
sniper warrior online.

'I quit' threads get shut down and locked, because they are against the actual terms of the game you agree to when you sign up.

That said, it took me about 2 hours, from scratch, to learn most of what I needed to know about the skill tree. Other people have made excellent tools such as the https://kitlaan.gitlab.io/mwoskill/ Skill Planner, and many of use have taken the information we learned and produced guides, videos, and sample Skill Tree builds with detailed explanations on how they are set up.

Quick Start Guide: https://mwomercs.com...the-skill-tree/

Skill Tree examples: https://mwomercs.com...now-with-index/

Plenty of others in the forums. If taking an hour to benefit from the efforts of others to learn the basics of the new skill tree is beyond you (you only need to do 1 mech to get started, it gets easy and fast with practice), then yes, perhaps it's time you took a break from MWO.

I for one actually like the new skill tree, but I should fetch more popcorn I guess.

It's amazing the quantity of people having reading issues without knowing how to quirks thier own mechs.

And instead of solve that reading issues and apply a bunch of neurons, they decide to quit!! LOLOLOL

The skills tree is not hard. Its just a bit overwhelming at first. Its okay though.

Here is a link to several guides, several proposed general application tree node paths, and dozens of specific builds and their associated optimized branches.

It seems glaring issues weren't taken into account. For the amount of time this took, it comes off very basic.

They have NEVER rolled out a change to this game well and when people say, "oh they'll work on it." WILL they?

How is faction warfare coming along?

Their round table meetings must devolve into duck, duck goose.

Instead of adding things to the game that make it feel like Mechwarrior, they keep themselves chained to a gamey feel for mechanics, modes, maps/everything.

Faction Warfare is the biggest let down and they lost a good chunk of dedicated players when it was obvious that was all it would ever be.

This is obviously correct as far as mechs and battletech. Lot of players here havent been playing the thinking mans shooter, they have played MWO FPS, me included and suddenly finding the game changed so much at this late stage is gong to upset people. Alot of polished epeens are no doubt offended. I think PGI are mad to do this tbh, altho if i was more cynical i might think this is their end of life plan for the game. They could have give us 20 new maps and a reason to play instead of a new reason not to.

We'll have to wait and see what the effect of the changes are, personally I'm much more likely to recommend MWO to a friend now than I was a couple of weeks ago but it could be that all the weaksauce warriors who are quitting have a big impact on PGI's bottom line. We can't tell for sure.

I can actually recommend this game in a way that I could never recommend World of Tanks, this might be a tricky game to learn but at least it's not deliberately designed to screw your progress and trick you into paying for something that provides little benefit.

I must say, after playing a handful of matches last night, the combat does feel a little more Mech vs. Mech than before. More durability from the Mechs, a little less alpha striking and a little more maneuver. Hell... this almost feels like the 'thinking mans shooter'.

Fellow 'warriors,

I'm done. My response to the new regime of MWO is, "Thank you, no.."

It was a good run. Honestly. I had a great time, over the last few years. But, I'm done. At least for now.

I am not only unsatisfied with the new interface and processes, I am DIS-satisfied. It just wasn't complicated/complex enough?? We already had XP, GXP, MC, and C-Bills to monitor, but now they (PGI) want to add more crap to track? The new methods of being able to modify and progress is (in my honest opinion) bull5h!t. I've, honestly, had enough. This is the last straw.

Unless and until PGI want to make a game that is as satisfying as MWO originally was without giving us a cr@p-ton of ways to make the game not even worth the effort, I am stepping away.

For those of you who don't have a problem with the latest changes, I say "more power to you." I sincerely wish you happy hunting and frags galore.

For those of you who, like me, think this is BS.. I am investigating other games to play via Steam, and invite you to look for me, using the same call sign, on other games. Ideally FPS.

In the meantime, I've uninstalled MWO from Steam. You will not see my call sign in MWO, in the near future. Unless someone else is being a punk-a55 b|t<h and tries to mimic my call sign. In which case, F&%K HIM/HER. Posted Image

Not only do I not have a problem with these changes, I in fact find them cool and good, and I find the game to be in it's best state since 2014.

I mean yeah, the skilltree itself needs a ****load of work to be good, but I find it far and away better than what they had pre-patch.

Will it get the work it needs? this is PGI so "first passes" are often "last passes" too so probably not, but I find it has made the game a good deal more fun for the way I like to play.

Try Planetside 2. It's my favorite free game out there. Just put in at least a month before you spend any money. It's not pay to win, but there's a lot of problems with the game, mostly because it's free. But it's fun. Arma 3 is my other go to game. They just upgraded from 32 to 64 bit and all the DLC is well worth the price but not necessary. It's the best, and if I had more time I'd run my own server again and stick with Arma 3. The light nerf was my final straw, you made it longer than I did..

Sorry to hear you're not having fun. Some of us are having more fun than ever. I probably would have quit soon if there hasn't been a change like the skill tree.

Not going to say "can I have your stuff", like I said I'm sorry to hear you're leaving. However I would say the skill tree and engine decoys is the best decisions PGI has made in a long time.
