Think SB's MASC is just bugged ATM.

Do recall hearing in the stream that aside from the MASC the Spirit Bear is intended to not be as mobile/agile as the other variants besides the 3 model. Doesn't seem right to me though.

The executioner has a higher base stats. MASC is by percentage, right? So if the Kodiak has far less, which it does. The MASC has less to work with.

Exe
24 Accel / 17 Decel
50 degrees/sec

Kodiak SB
6.9 Accel / 11 Decel
30 degrees/sec Turn rate

They killed the spirit bear. It went from one of my favorite mechs, despite how hard it is to get into brawl range.... to one of the worst mechs that is basically unplayable. Only thing left that is even semi viable is to turn it into a lurm boat.

I'm painfully aware of this, as are all 100 ton assault pilots. The Dire Whale, Atlas, and King Crab have been devastated with the new engine decoupling. But rule does not apply to all weight brackets as many of the acc/dec rates boggle the mind. I actually went through and noted down all of them for at least 1 variant of each mech:

I understand the intent to nerf the K-3 but gutting the spirit bear in this instance is completely unreasonable. I think i would actually like my money back.

Sorry to say its not bugged. The acceleration rate is 180% when its on. This is about right when i tested it. Problem is all the 100 ton mechs are really slow.

at 180% it still has a acceleration rate slower than the base exe.

Shame on PGI. Selling heroes to nerf them with a hammer. A practice that may affect sales of all Hero mechs.

This is the stuff that is making me so mad at these nerfs. It was a huge kick in the the butt about the agility getting "transferred over". SB is another one. How did the kdk5 get better agility when the SB had quirks for it to start off with?

This is all over the IS mechs so many of them got nerfed and are as slow of snails now.

Oh fantastic, they took away all the quirks including a 25% twist rate and replaced them with a base rate that is well below the rate it would have been even with out any quirks at all! Utter garbage... It is a shell of a mech. It will sit in the hanger never getting used. Anyone got a solid LRM build for it? I mean it is painfully obvious they don't want us to brawl in it any more, which was the whole damn point of the chassisPosted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image .

Gotta say the SB selling point is gone. Would get a refund for it if I could. That looks absolutely terrible.

At best 100 ton baseline in general is too low. Not just the SB. But without bumping the whole scale up. It would only be a minor increase.

Edit: Thinking it over. I suppose they could just increase the MASC bonus for it. More practical solution.

I tried all mobility and was greatly disappointed.

Looks like brawling in out.

Maybe I'll convert it into an LOLurm boat.

I am quite close to doing so as an act of protest because the Spirit Bear is my favorite 'mech. Holding out hope that PGI will come to their senses and do something. I preordered both the Cougar and Mad Cat MKII Collectors packs, totaling $140 dollars ($190.50 for me as I paid with Canadian funds) as a birthday present for myself as it lands right on July 18th. For now I'm trying an awareness approach in hopes that it will reach the powers that be and elicit a positive outcome. Time will tell. For now, my two Spirit Bears are collecting dust and am actually enjoying the Nanuq....but I really do miss my SB already and am afraid the feeling will only grow worse.

The 100 tons are quite slow... maybe they will make some change and bring some agility back, we will see, assault agility look unbalanced between type, a big crazy big drop between 80 and 100, would want to do a curve with that to see differences.

At this point in time i would like a refund on my Spirit Bear. It was sold as a brawling mech with great agility for those close in fights, it is now a **** that can't do anything. Please give me back my money.
