Good god dude.

Just... wow.

You know, he may be ranting a bit, but he is generally onto something here. Clan mechs feel bad right now. They are just not fun to drive.

Not in my experience; I'm still doing great in my Ebon Jaguar.

I never did well in that mech to be honest...I was always more a medium guy. The SCR feels like rubbish now, the HBK-IIC feels bad, too.

Stormcrow hasn't been that good for the current PPFLD meta for a long time now, but the HBK-IIC is still one of the best, if not the best, mediums in the game.

The Nova, Huntsman and Griffin 2N are certainly better brawlers, but none of those can do PPFLD poptart as good as the Hunch IIC.

It shoots well, it just handles like a lead bath tub with wheels compared to other mechs...even heavier mechs.

Yeah, it has the same acceleration, turn and torso twist speed as an Archer (better in deceleration though), which puts it at about 31.58% worse acceleration than a Nova or Huntsman.

If you dislike the mobility loss, swap to the Nova or Huntsman; both mechs make for great brawlers, and the Huntsman is fine at PPFLD poptart with ER PPC/Gauss builds (not as good as the Hunch IIC, but still does fine).
They have better mobility stats than the Griffin and Shadow Hawk too.

I might consider the huntsman

yep the thing is everything you ever wanted - versaitle and mobile. There is nothing the Huntsman can not do. (Mabye tanking - but i recognized that the hitboxes are very good in soaking up damage)
i just bought me one recently because i liked the look - and I'm almost ready to by me the ultimate package...(almost I'm not that stupid anymore)

Laser vomit? WHM-6D > any clan chassis @ <500m

Wow - you see you almost half way there - btw: energy range +10% (could have understand the jester, hardly).... maybe you just get shot down by parking right in front of some trial warhammers? You know only because the guys in FP run the WHM-6D doesn't mean its meta - maybe its only the trial version

Drive a BLR-2C to start with...just go run it with no mobility tree.

Then, get in a TW, a mech 10 tons lighter, and compare the mobility for me.

I've driven both. The BLR-2C is like the top IS assault. Ebons and Night Gyrs still feel pretty strong to me, the Timber agility is a little disappointing but I didn't think it was THAT bad. Its not like agility is everything.

Eh, even just the HBR-F feels pretty damn strong in quick play, and the Ebon and Night Gyr are better. Marauder-IIC and Supernova have felt great to me as well *shrugs*

Sadly "Structural" Quirks may sound wonderful, but once your Armor is gone, then goes your weapons and systems and then you simply wait to die...

If "durability" is really an issue with any Mech, be it I.S. or Clan, then any "durability" Quirks should all be Armor based. Otherwise read the first sentence again... :)

To some people agility is nearly everything. Besides, am I mistaken, or are most of those mechs you mentioned not already on the "destined to be nerfed" list?

Night Gyr and Marauder IIC are as far as I can tell, but how much those nerfs will actually impact them remains to be seen.

"To some people.." that sounds subjective, therefore, I don't care. Agility is not EVERYTHING, its just another factor at play.

I still feel gross at how Easy Mode they are to play to me... at least when you put in the God Mode cheat on Doom, we did not go crowing to all our friends about great we were at the game back in the day. I mean you can enjoy playing Easy Mode but for the love of god, do not talk about it in front of others. Have some Self-Respect.

IS only has BLR-2C - GHR-5P - HBK-4SP - LCT-1E as the top performer mechs.

Clanners have ACH - HBK-IIC - SCR - EBJ - HBR - NTG - TBR - MAD-IIC - KDK.

Why is it that only IS mechs with high structure/armor quirks can fight on par with clan mechs with little to no quirks.

Clan top performers can get nerfed into the ground and still be top performers.

But when IS top performers is nerfed, well Victor(JJ nerf) - Firestarter - Raven - BJ - Shadow Hawk - Thunderbolt - Warhammer - Black Knight - Banshee - Mauler is proof of that.

I dunno if the Kodiak is that good anymore, thanks to its severely nerfed mobility. The KDK-3 has the same agility as an Atlas now, but without the durability.

To be fair:

The SCR is junk, the TW is bad, the NTG is a turret, the KDK and DW are horrendously low on agility and have no structure quirks like Atlas/KGC.

The ACH is pretty average, there are IS mechs that are equally as good or better.

The EBJ has 1 viable build, the HBR is very average, but requires ECM and both nodes to be average.

The MAD-IIC is a top tier assault, but that is about to change....

KDK 3 and spirit bear are just not going to be as good as they once were, torso mounted ballistics on one of the slowest torso twisters just isn't going to gel well with how clan ACs function, and the general speeds of meta mechs, those days I think, are just gone. They just have to be played differently now.

I have still been doing extremely well in my KDK5 though, the arm range on the KDK makes up for the torso stuff and its top speed is still massive for a 100 tonner.

I think for these assaults that took the biggest hits that will tend to be the case, the better arm placements will become much more critical for build styles, while the assaults that still have decent torso twisting abilities will be afforded that potential of more reliable torso mounted weapon capabilities.

Slow and tanky is the new meta. :P

Marauders (both), Night Gyrs, Orions, Maulers, Roughnecks am stronk.

Actually, because the slow Clan 'Mechs are the ones running the show at the moment, that allows certain IS 'Mechs to run a STD engine while doing what they used to do with XLs (i.e. dakka-energy Warhammer).
