Greetings MechWarriors. Today I have a simple question, what will the stats be for IS targeting computers by weight, critical slots AND will the Command Console FINALLY be buffed? PGI promised to that OVER A YEAR AGO when they rebalanced Clan TC.

im ganna assume they will be identical to Clan TC,
i do expect CC to finally get some love, i hope it does, ;)

Does it even matter? I am hard pressed to think where you would even use a I.S. TC. The Sleipnir perhaps?

CC will become even more rare as people just soak up tonnage with LFE.

Should have the same bonus just the weighting and crit spacing is different from their clan counterparts.

Inner Sphere version weighs one ton and occupies one critical slot for every four tons it controls (also rounded up).

Picked it up from sarna, just need someone who more savy in TT rules to clarify this for me.

TC weight has no effect in MWO since players can put in any size TC they want regardless of the weight of the direct-fire weapons equipped.

I'm very much looking for a command console buff. I'd like to see it add a module slot or provide some other bonuses, like being able to track two targets at the same time within LOS due to having presumably two pilots in the 'mech.

I doubt the IS TC will do anything worthwhile enough to spare the tonnage.

Yes. Considering the SPs to get the bonuses they provide, they are buffed if you have the extra tons.

Me either really, but logically it being a booster to info warfare by sharing target info much more efficiently and boosting sensor range and the like. Makes sense that way.

In the lore, the command console is effectively a second cockpit outfitted with a set of 'mech controls and extra communications equipment for a field commander. The field commander can manage a force right on the battlefield while a separate mechwarrior handles the 'mech. If the second mechwarrior is for whatever reason incapacitated during combat, the field commander can use the console's 'mech controls to take over operation of the 'mech.

Because of the bulk of the command console, it's only mountable in heavy and assault 'mech chassis. It's really an arbitrary rule from the boardgame construction rules, though. Aside from providing the benefits of an extra pilot, the command console provides a +2 bonus to that force's initiative roll when not acting as the pilot.

Nonsense, it will be slightly worse. Just like IS MASC is slightly worse, IIRC.

Except being 1 ton heavier and occupying 1 more critical slot is more than slightly worse, it's significantly worse.

That's rather unfortunate, unless the bonuses are increased significantly to compensate.

The only thing that might have any chance of being identical between IS and Clan TCs would be crit slots, but even that is a one in a billion chance if I were to put odds to it.

They will without a doubt in my mind at minimum be one ton heavier than their Clan counterparts, and the bonuses will be lower than their Clan counterparts, that much is certain.

They can't be completely identical to Clan TCs because 1, that would mean there's no tech imbalance for IS players to complain about and to keep Clan players superior, and 2, by extension, if they made IS TCs equal to Clan TCs, it probably wouldn't be long before people started demanding that all IS gear be made equal to Clan gear. Endo, Ferro, XLs, weapons, etc.

It would just snowball from there. I can only imagine it would be a shitstorm of epic proportions, worse even than when PGI tried to nerf the Stormcrow and Timber Wolf that one time during the Phoenix event a couple years back.

They should just make it auto aim for clan mech cockpits, then it can be 4 slots and 5 tons with no other bonuses attached.

I've got the current/old CC on one mech - BLR-3M. Was a pretty fun brawler mech, and the little boost for target acquisition certainly didn't hurt. How it works now, I honestly have no clue - but it certainly was a fun way to throw a curveball into the 5SS lineups when that was the main rig IS teams ran.
