If you're new and having trouble, fall back on the tried and true LRM boat method. Stick with the majority of the pack and lob a bunch of LRMs into the most targeted 'mechs. Your match score will improve. It will also teach you how to use the "R' key, which is vital to the success of any group. PuG or not.

Yes please take lurms which are only an effective weapon in tier 5 / on polar/alpine so I can get the 10000 match score done in 2 hours with AMS

What mech/s are you piloting and what are some of those builds?
You should be able to get around a 150 match score doing just over 200 damage by just hanging with the group if you are not constantly over heating. Not saying build/mech selection/piloting style are it, but start looking there first and I would bet things start to get better for you. I would not be surprised if you shortly started to double those numbers I listed.

don't forget that a good LRM boat also moves. standing in one place like a moron makes you.. well.. you get it. plus re-positioning keeps them guessing and moving, which means you're more likely to get shots on them as they expose themselves or flush them out into the line of sight of your friendlies as well.

they're actually an effective weapon on all tiers, it's just a lot of people assume you can effectively LRM boat at over 600m, which you really can't. I've got tier 2 buddies who've literally brawled with IS LRM Battlemasters and can do it effectively. they'll probably end up being quite deadly once MRMs are introduced from all that practice.

It may take a little bit but is cumulative, if you averaged 200 match points every QP game it would take about 50 matchs over the course of the event... you may even get games in the 400+ which will speed this up dramatically.

It may take a lot of games but it is attainable.

Also remember, once you die in one match you can queue for anothet mech and keep accumulating match points.

I am not a fan of LRMs, but when I use them I tend to Brawl with them. I only use them are over 600m if I see an assault marching in an open area. Otherwise at that range they can be easily avoided. I also am a big fan of LOS when using LRMs. Yes other teammates target locks are essential, but if you are behind a hill blind firing you will waste most of your missiles.
Even still good players can still avoid them, that is why just past minimum range can be very optimal for them.

My favorite tactic is to give just a little taste of my armor, and then see how much waste i bait them into by popping out just often enough that they can't give up the lock.

Is it just me, or is anyone else having problems with the website tracking for the event? It's not showing my currently achieved Match Score at all; it just says "x of 10,000."

hay so question, is there anyway to check how close to the 10k match score i am because as it stands i have no idea how much more i need. i looked in my profile and theirs nothing about previously earned match score.

same issue just keeps saying x or 10k every quick play match i do, i really hate it because i have no idea how close i am if i am close at all that is. whos to say its not counting at all and i wont get the mech :0
