How about no. You really should look into Interstellar Expeditions, the Explorer Corps and Lostech prospecting. Also, you'd do well to look up New Dallas on Sarna.

Personally, I suspect new maps will be on the menu soon, since they have changed their business model with the removal of "rule of 3", and there was a statement earlier that they would slow down making new mechs in favor of other content..

As far as the maps I would like to see go, I hope they make some temperate heat maps, like full urban, full rural (like farmland) full forest (like massive trees/dense forest, not like Viridian), and such..

We have 4 cold maps (HPG manifold, Frozen city, Alpine Peaks and Polar Highlands), 3 hot maps (Terra Therma, Caustic Valley, and Tourmaline Desert), and 4 temperate maps (Grim Plateau, River City, Crimson Strait, Forest Colony and Canyon Network)

Logically speaking, we could do with a few more "space" maps, like HPG, a few more "Urban" maps, but what we really lack is temperate forest and plains maps..

So I envision a nice map featuring some farmland, mild hills and groves, tilled fields and grain silos.. Such a map would be something completely new..

I like the suggested farmland idea.

Also what about a small village with building that are between 1 to 3 floors high at max?
Not the entire map would be covered with buildings, just the center of the map. A very small community, maybe the resort for some rich people with villas, pools and a Helipad?
A small forrest nearby and a wide but not very high hill, max 3 floors like the building. There would also be a river going across the map with a small pond.
A quite picturesque scenarie....untill 24 mechs drop and all hell breaks loose!

Sure it would be a quite open map with only some cover for light mechs while everyone else dukes it out.

What would help if we could start fires, not everywhere but certain places that when hit go up in flames like the ones that we see as static fires on other maps.
Also damagestages for the building would be nice or just big decals to show them beeing damaged. Basicly anything that shows the destructiveness of 24 mech going all out at each other.

A metro map would be the best, then maybe a under ground tunnel map, and then maybe a desert dunes map. For variety.

Maybe a map with some aliens ruins????

Also a map with air whales! This is actually a sort of sci-fi thing for new maps for all games in a way. Giant air creatures. Heard of it requested in other games or added in other games.

I have an idea, why don't we take the same maps we have now, and add a day to night cycle to them?

it would be like having a whole buncha a new maps all at once, because you know....they are darker or lighter all the time.

Seriously.....people bought this bulldroppings back in the day and it's time PGI trotted this idea out again!

Day night cycle is OK but what PGI really needs to do is add random spawns to all the maps. Just spin the maps 90 degrees to the right. It would be the most gain for the least effort.

Idk why people don't won't want the brawl friendly nuked city it's a new theme, and river and crimson is pretty much intact. I think it be a nice addition rather than a intact city.

What?

Anything on another planet is "alien". So don't get your hopes up they wont be adding aliens. Viridian bog already has an alien creature. It seems almost a sure bet those bird aliens will make it into the game as an NPC of some sort some day to!

Sky whales are very popular.





Sky whales are like trains and air ships and samurai and mechs are like cool man. You got to know these things.

Then make a "Tunnel Runner" and "The Dwarven" hero light and medium mechs!

Nice picture, terrible idea with LRM's hitting the roof.. a map has to be viable for all weapons and build types.. to strongly favor direct fire and completely negate LRMs would be a terrible idea..

Regardless of how some individuals feel about certain weapon types, the world does not revolve around them..

I would not mind a ruined city in flames.. this is what River city used to be before the reworks.. It does not need to be "nuked", a single assault mech can do alot of damage to a city.. Then imagine what a galaxy of mechs, aerial bombardment and artillery could do..

Yes, a nice burning, ruined, war-torn city with bunkers, road blocks and civilian shelters, with sandbagged buildings.. yes.. that would add somewhat to immersion..

Does not need to be brawl-friendly any more than River City..

The map has to have to have high ceilings for lrms totally right, or have it so players can choose a mech before entering.

Except polar highlands and alpine peaks is not viable for small lasers and srms.

Haveing a tunnel map that isn't usable for LRMs might be a little problem. On the other hand I rarely see complete LRM boats anymore.
Another option would be to have a lot of tunnels and one big crack going thought the map, creating a big cave where LRMs could be used.

After ending up on HGP about 4 times in a row this morning.

I'm gonna say we need new maps. And I'm a noob, and only joined a few days ago!

I'd love some different city type maps. Loads of buildings to jump on too. Long streets, sharp turns, places to hide, underpasses and elevated train lines to run along, etc.

It'd be pretty cool.

Or a sandy dune desert... Mechs would probably sink though.. lol

Isn't this game a few years old now? There's plenty of mechs, (an overwhelming amount for a newbie!), so, more maps please!

Its a little known fact Battletech mechs have stassis fields in the feet. Or rather projecting out the feet. Its science. :)

Mechs would be neck deep on Viridian bog or worse if not.

New map should use destructible objects similar to Incursion walls. Would make peeking gameplay much better.

Maps are the lifeblood of a PVP game. They're the second most important feature after the players.

The fact that there are so few after years of development is a complete failure from the lead dev.

I couldn't get behind a forum meltdown over the new mech trees but I'm in for level 9000 meltdown about new maps. :)

I mean they got have a guy in a back room or in the basement doing maps for their live game right?
