During our first simulator run in our campaign, Lina was doing a bit poorly at first (while competent, her skills lagged behind the others). Finally, she managed a kill, and started shrieking "Yesyesyesyes!" over the comm, high-pitched enough to make dogs howl. Her lance commander stuck her with the callsign "Banshee" on the spot, and no amount of groveling on her part would change her LC's mind. ;)

I’ll have what she’s having. ;)

Mac, it has always been just Mac, ever since the McRandall Highland Rangers drew their first contract. Good to see the mechs in the field after so many years. If there are any other Kell hounds out there, we should talk.

"Zeus" was the first call-sign I ever received. It came from my fascination with the Zeus Assault Mech In MW2:Merc. When my friends and I got into the table top games (I believe my first box set had the Zeus on the front) It turned into DarkZeus... because I was being evil all the time ;)

Callsign - "Moat" from my affinity with water.

My callsign is Schattenjäger. I first stumbled upon the word in the game Gabriel Knight 3. It's German for "Shadow Hunter". I like it because I prefer long range/sniper combat tactics. I also have a tendency to focus on notably evil opponents, which harkens more to the intended meaning of the word, where 'shadow' is akin to 'shade' or 'evil spirit'.

I love that! Usually the best nicknames/call signs are the ones given to you spontaneously and for a good reason.

I tend to go by Bonegrinder. It's a reference to a DnD character of mine who wielded a chainsword and had a nasty merc. reputation.

Lukovic for me. Actually calling myself Daidachi in game would be the height of arrogance, and Lukovic is what I've used in games exclusively for the past 5 years.

Back 1998, when the web was young and chat rooms were the "new" thing, I was online for one of the first times in my then-young life and needed a handle for said chat room. David Bowie's "Space Oddity" was on in the background, a favorite song of mine to begin with, and it seemed a no-brainer. Used it ever since for everything, BT and non-BT alike.

I started playing MW3 as a 5th-grader who had no idea what an appropriate name would be. I looked at the game box, took the latter half of the term "MechWarrior," and went with it. Until MW4's last days (not counting MekTek and the community shoving defib pads onto it), I went by the simple, almost idiotic name of "Warrior," but I gave it an identity of its own. I would have chosen it here but someone already took it. (I will fight you in a Trial of Possession, whoever you are!)

"Belial" is what I nicknamed my favorite custom Uziel. It was basically a little demon to everyone around.

My callsign is agent cooper and it dates back to the Twin Peaks tv series. I slicked my hair back then just like the FBI agent on that show and it has stuck.

Well... the one I have here is a nickname given to me by my squad mates in the Army. I'm a huge fan of King's Dark Tower series, and when I turned 21, my dad and grandpa went in on a set of Colt SAA (2nd Gen.). I practiced a lot with them and the guys stuck the name to me.

During Basic I was called Shockwave after I did some damage to the M203 range at Ft. Benning with a live round that was marked and labled as a training round.

Three of my buddies and I had a paintball team while we were at Ft. Stewart... called ourselves the 4 Horsemen, and I took the name Pale Rider. That stuck as a call sign through 02/03 in Iraq.

Reason today: Egomane, because it's more or less the exact opposite of my personality.

Original reason: Callsign dates back till 1992 to the games X-Wing and Wing Commander. They where single player games so I thought it would fit to call me something with ego, and it stuck to me for the years to come.

Only time I used a different name was back in MPBT3025, where I have been RangerOne (named after the Ships from "The adventures of the Galaxy Rangers).
