This round is a lot better of a lineup than the first Civil War pack. I think pretty much every single one of these gundams has at least some potential regardless of quirks.

I just think it's weird that PGI is still sticking to the old mechpack model of three variants as the minimum order, given that now we don't have the rule of three anymore...

I just noticed on the Arctic Wolf page...three variants have listed locked equipment (ACW-Prime/A/P) and three don't (ACW-1/2/BK). This means that the ACW will be the first (and only?) mech in MWO that has both Omnimech AND Battlemech variants of itself.

Of course, the BM versions will likely be better because of the added customization such as adding FF and getting engines rated over 250 (Omnimech is stuck at 240)...

I checked this out too. On the Sarna for the mech, the initial design was completed as a Battlemech and the later developed version was made into an Omnimech. Looking at PGI stat chart, the first 3 variants have Letter designations of A-C, used for Omnimechs, and the last 3 use Numbers, used for Battlemechs. It looks like the Hero is a Battlemech early design as well.

This makes me sad. I was hoping the Basic pack had the Battlemechs instead of the Omnis. Being able to swap endo / ferro / engines / jump jets is more important (to me) on a mech that is sporting like, 7-8 Hardpoints.

I just can't get excited about new mechs unti we see how the promised late summer (early fall?) rebalance plays out. I am loath to buy anything until I have some reason to believe that PGI isn't going to nerf it into oblivion because of some new view of quirks, skills, base line agility or whatever other mechanic PGI has thown into the blender over the last month.

That said. Those mechs...that is state of the art mechporn.

Lol, the $20 Nova Cat pack is restricted to the Prime, A and B. The Prime and A are purely laser vomit builds. Build B has a whopping 6 LRM-15's. I feel like this is a bait and switch to get more people to buy the reinforcement packages + the hero with the lack of hard point variety the $20 package offers to people. Maybe not with the civil war era tech so we'll see.

Really though. I just looked at the Arctic Wolf package. Is PGI seriously going to only offer the omnimech versions for the standard, but lock the battlemech versions behind a $15 paywall?

HMMM........

Now this is a legit set of 'Mechs. None of thay mamby pamby Uziel and Annihilator bullsh*t, these are some properly threatening beasties.

A little sad none of the fast Nightstar variants made it, but whatever. All the guns!

I lied, 9FC.
