You know I really think that would be quite empty.

And I think if you were to put money on that you'd lose.

"A major unannounced feature"

Means one of

New meck packs design
New IS omnimech mechpack
New triped / quadruped mechpack

What it might be
Ammo Switching
Extra factions in map

What i wish it meant

Access to (not locked to drop) mechs in mechlab while searching for game/waiting in lobbies.
or
Competitive mode actually encouraging bronzies into it with a league of legends style ladder solo queue where you select what role/mech weights your willing to fill.
or
Split Faction Play into solo or grouped drop queues with a matchmaker for solo and additional rewards for grouped. (weve gone from 40 buckets to 2 and it has not been tried before)
or
A dropship in FW/CP that can deploy you without the chance of one of 3 bugs occuring.

What it wont be.
Melee
Single player for MWO, thats what MW5 is.
Solaris
Porting mwo
new maps
IK
A old time/patch specific server

Ok then why aren't you guys playing 3025 stockmode in private matches if it's so popular?

anything theyve mentioned b4.

People kept telling me they wouldn't use Unreal Engine and I wouldn't ever get the single player I asked for or the MK II.

MW5 Single Player on Unreal Engine 4 - Check
Mad Cat MK II - Check

Now I just have to get the MK II in MW5 - In Progress

My hope? MWO moving to Unreal Engine!

A modern engine would be great. It would most likely help to develop the game further with less resources needed. I doubt, though, that PGI commits the resources.

We won't see player controlled tanks, but AI tanks are totally possible. They're almost certainly developing them for MW5, so it's not unreasonable that they could happen here.

Not until MW5 is released. After that, it's fairly likely IMHO.

I have no clue about programming but isn't it quite a piece of work to get e.g.the maps, mech databases etc working for the new engine?

Unannounced feature to be released AFTER IK gets implemented?

Hahahahahaha, good one Joudas..

Seriously though..

Taking into consideration that MW5 has been underway for a good 6 months, and that the dev's have had a descent amount of time with the Unreal 4 engine...

I suspect the BIG NEWS will be a game engine port to Unreal Engine 4..

To comment on the road map.. I'm sad that new maps are in the "down the road" section and not "next patch".. :-(

No way to know. Depends on how they implemented things.

It IS a big job, but they're building MW5 in unreal and using the same assets, so the bulk of the work is already being done in the MW5 development. Then it's already half done once MW5 is finished.

Yeah PGI is missing out on a golden opportunity in my book.
But then again..........PGI.

Oh right. Mechs with garbage hitboxes locked to XL engines. That sounds exceptionally terrible.

Quarterly map packs, you get 7 days advanced access in the training grounds and private lobbies when you have bought the pack.

Doesn't affect public queues, but does allow for familiarizing yourself with the new maps so you get to have a slight edge over people who haven't paid for early access to the maps.

A move to unreal engine would be nice.

But that would make sense so... B-Pods! Perfect defense against all the battlearmor not in the game! Posted Image Posted Image

Depends on the engines. From some to others, its easier. From others to more, it may be a nightmare.

But, PGI has already created their own mech design, ala the Roughneck. What's stopping them now from creating new IS Omni designs? Especially ones that will feed their bottom line...wanna buy a mech pack?
