Quite annoying when enemy heavy mechs can beat your locust to the capture area just because they spawned in much closer.

Which is why it should have an attacking side & a defending side.

But I win a lot in Incursion because I intentionally let the enemy to rush our base and then cut them down. Just gotta be smart on this.

It was always intended as an upgrade of Assault mode, and I felt cheated that they left a bad mode in the game under the pretenses of adding content..
It was a simple cheat on their part..
Plus, I truly wonder when will the large majority of the players realize that destroying a base element is worth 25000 Cbills, and its ALOT MORE PROFITABLE to ignore the last guy and go for the base..

There are ways to have objectives and still keep people fighting. Domination is a great example.
I'm not opposed to teamwork based modes, and escort is a good example of a mode that requires teamwork and people fighting. Sadly escort needs some work to make it more fun though.
You summed up my point though when you said it's better to ignore the last guy and go for the base. Incursions encourages people to ignore fighting and just go for the base. That's an incredibly boring style of gameplay for many people, especially since you can't pick a loadout for the mode in QP. Dropping into incursion on polar with a slow mech is just frustration.

It's one of my least liked modes in MW:O. That and Escort.
