As a consumable, there are such things as FASCAM rounds for artillery.

Something that dropped seven or so mines in it's "blast radius" would be entertaining, since they'd act as a roadblock for nonjumpers until detonated. Thunder LRMs would be nightmare fuel, until people realized you can blow up the mines with a bit of applied firepower...except PGI cannot into ammo switching, derp.

All your needs.

Adding them as a consumable like arty and airstrikes would be easier than as an ammo type. Launch them to a location and have them self-destruct after a period of time (30-60 seconds) so the map is not littered with mines.

Drop a minefield behind a location and then an arty strike force the enemy to run through the minefield. Hilarity would ensue.
