[Fox With A Shotgun]

Well that just happened.

I got hit by an airstrike in my Kit Fox, lost a leg, and the other one was cherry red.

It wasn't the enemy that killed me.

It wasn't even friendly fire that killed me.

No, my Kit Fox's remaining foot got stepped on. By an Atlas on my team that was backing away from said airstrike smoke.

RIP.

Here's something crazy that I saw happen yesterday..

It's not mine, but I thought I would post it, cose' it was just amazing..

So, we were Siedge Attacking on Hellbore springs, and we're winning.. It's almost the end of the match, only few enemies remaining.. I myself did ok, and I perma-died.

So I'm spectating this guy (who will remain unnamed) and his last mech is a Huntsman with just 3 x ATM 9 and a light TAG, and he's going about and laying waste to the last, already hurt mechs. By the end of the match, his scoreboard is FULL.

12 kills.

The end match results show him doing 5073 (or something like that) damage!

I was like OMG, HOW?!

I just had one of those moments earlier today. Started with an eww and turned into wow.

So I played the 3rd or 4th match in my new Bushwhacker with dual RAC5 just to see how I'd do in such a build. Match was ok, we won, I did some shooting here and there.

Eww was the moment the stats window popped up. A meagre 280ish damage. I wish I made a screenshot, but I was already clicking the "Exit Match"-button when I realized I made 3 kills, 2 of them being KMDDs... That's how to play effective

Had an Assault on Polar yesterday. Me in my MLX-G with 8HMGs (1.5t ammo, I believe) and 2 Micro Pulse Lasers and the Cheetah I followed went the long way 'round, tickled the Reds' base, and then back into some buildings for a mini-squirrel fight. It worked... too well. Along comes and Assassin, whose legs I shot off, a Hellbringer, and... something else big that doesn't matter. I got the left leg cherry on the HBR before he popped me (I ran out of ammo attacking the ASN). 206dmg, 2KMDD - those were the only two mechs I shot at. Pulling that much armor from the frontline allowed my team to stomp over them easily. A lovely time was had by all.

The EWW and the WOW, consecutively:

Yesterday, had a very interesting oscillation of the EWW and the WOW:

The EWW: First, I had a FP defending Grim Portico, where half my team was made up of the members of [EVIL]. They justified they designation.. During heavy fighting, I accidentally clipped one of their member's arms. He turns around and puts two full alphas in my back and TK-s me?! I ask him about it, and most of their team starts to berate me and verbally harass me. His explanation was that I took one of his weapons.. I told him he acted in a childish manner and reported them all. The whole thing left a sour taste in my mouth and sucked all the joy from this game..

..only to have a WOW moment with the wonderful members of CSX (or CXS I can't remember correctly :-( ). We were FP defending on Sulphurous Rift. In the drop screen, their C.O. calls for everyone to drop in JJ equiped lights.. I ask him about it, and he explained the plan in detail, without any holier than thou attitude like I usually get from such people. I went for it.

We dropped first wave, 12 lights, jumped the gate, and proceeded to annihilate the enemy's first wave of assaults with our zerg rush of lights.. it was the best fun I've had in a while.. and just what I needed after all the EVIL shenanigans.

I thank you guys for the WOW.

Amazing strategy, amazing leadership, an amazing display of how differed people can make you feel awesome or like crap in this game, and great fun all around.

EWW or WoW make your own mind =) these are from the last 2 weeks.

1) Im in my test bench Awesome with 60MRM's and lasers. In HPG almost inside first 2 mins I turn a corner and face a enemy Arctic Cheatah and accidently hit "fire all MRM" (not in chain fire) and poor Cheatah pops like a balloon.

2) In River City Im strolling with almost casual build (that I just made) KGC twin AC20's + 30MRM's and brawl like idiot for the first half, then suddenly either AFK or DC fresh Annie comes to me and gives loving UAC dakka to my face and totally blind and just fire at general direction and head shotted the Annie...

3) Again in HPG about mid match I chase a wounded Linebacker towards basement he gets to the tunnel first. Im in my Bushwhack=) AC10,ERLL,MRM10 and 3x LMG's. I get to the corner and neatly get alphaed to ST, but I manage to Alpha ones back and keep em LMG's singing. 3 kills inside 5 or so seconds. I keep running towards team mates and someone has dropped Arty strike moments earlier to my path, since Im still wondering what the heck happened I get taken out by that Arty strike =P

4) Im just trying to learn how to play as fast light in Locust in River City Conquest.. I ran to cap a point in the start of the game.. got to the point hid behind struckture and after cap Im started to move along I drop dead... You have been wounded by Gauss says the table and my mechs head is missing......

5) I did a Baradul styled Huntsman with ATM9 and 12 on forest Colony and sprinted/jumped to the "radio/radar" tower on top of that small cliff/or so. Enemy did know I was there and I got shot several times not nothing major.. so I spend all my ATM ammo to targets that were inside 200-330 meters and I couldnt stop laughing due I could constantly keep my team informed what they were doing and I actually died in the end due I ran outta missiles... not bad we won thou and 1180 damage was alot more that I imagined.

6) Inside Archer with 9? missile slots, 5x LRM10 and 4x SRM4. Polar Lurmland was the map. Casual camping was the Theme for first part and Im just as bunny to lob LRM salvo after salvo to poor targets... I end up shooting all 1.6k or so LRMs in decent 300-600m range, but dont score a damn single kill. So its roughly 4:4 situation and everyone moreless cored and cozy red on armor. I managed to Pop 3 outta those 4 with my SRMs (SRMs are on arms) and again I wasnt keen on looking around while trying to Brawl with SRM and walked directly in front of friend SHC PPC's and he blew my back off and pop went the ARcher weasel.... My fault honestly.

Most recent Wow moment:

Dropping in FP group queue, end up with an Incursion on Caustic Valley. I'm piloting my Ghillie for the very first time. We're getting behind in kills and it's looking ugly. Someone suggests having some faster 'mechs go attack their base, so I'm like "I'm reasonably fast, why not?" and proceed to travel around the right side of the map and get into their base.

I take a few potshots at one of the flag buildings, and check my six, and see there's a Clan assault there. Somehow he's not seeing me... And that's where it begins. I spend a LONG time in the Clan base, watching 'mechs walk right by me, and manage to do some damage and kill a few of them before near the end when there's only one building left am I really engaged at all in any serious manner.

I've never experienced being 'invisible' quite like that:

I was about to drop down from the top to the bottom on Crimson Strait. Had someones back and was going to put machine guns into it. Felt like a ninja....just as i am dropping he turns shoots and obliterates me one shot. I was pissed and then amazed. Either way a great moment in gaming.
