So, what I'm getting at here is that PGI need to decide whether the Executioner is a glorified heavy or a bona fide assault. If it's a heavy pretending to be an assault, then give it a proper torso yaw angle of 80-90 degrees. If it's actually an assault, then reduce its accel/decel/twist rates to appropriate levels, and find some other way to boost the mech's viability - for example, by unlocking MASC/jump jets, or at least swapping around endo and ferro. Right now, the mech is very weird to pilot. It moves around like a heavy, except for the limited firing arc. Just makes no sense at all.

That can jump.
With limited space to carry many DHS.

You don't understand anything. Clan tech superiority, and bad mech design are two different things. Executioner still sees plenty of plays despite its handicap thanks to Clan XL and Clan lasers. However, if you turn all its tech to IS, then it will become straight up garbage. That's Clan tech superiority at its clearest.

With the right build (like 3 high mounted ERLL and an EMPTY right arm to be used as an excellent shield), it can be quite okay, but not great. I turned a 4-11 into a 12-11 once with that
You have to be adept at using MASC and JJs, though. If you just play it like a big stompy Assault, you waste literally tons of equipment.
I see it more as a heavily armored heavy than as an agile assault with pathetic weapon tonnage.
Two major problems are:
- FF has no advantage over ES (and the solution would be SO simple: make ES increase the receiving crit chance)
- it is literally the tallest Mech in the game. It's a walking "please shoot me" sign.
Oh and of course, as usual: the MADIIC does almost everything better. Sans the jumping part.

It really needs to have something excellent to compensate.
Assault level MASC doesn't cut it.
So what you get is a 95 ton mech that carries the firepower of a 65 tonner.

BUT, I feel like assaults got nerfed, and since the EXE was already one of the worst...
Basically ever since the skill tree and engine desync, and whatever else they snuck in, I've pretty much left it behind. Just can't make it work as well as before.

It can do things other assaults would struggle with. Like brawl with a mist lynx.

Considering the quirks on Warhawks and Gargoyles, I think the EXE could do with a few small ones.

Executioner working hard. Its a good mech not your normal assault mech and definitely doesn't play like a heavy. Sort plays in the between area.

As long as it can alpha twice (which it can) nothing else really matters. Its not like you see teams pushing and brawling in PUGs when sustained DPS starts to matter. Even if it happens it does so in later stages of the match, the damage was already done.

And if he jumps or zig-zags before you align your torso mounts. Then you have to flail about dealing fractional laser damage.

It has some obvious drawbacks and your not going to overcome those without lots of practice, patients and excessive use of MASC and Jump Jets. It is an Assault, it is a Heavy, it is neither all in one. It pop tarts, alpha strikes, corner peeks and brawls lights. The Executioner is a lot of things but fool proof it is not.
