subnppcs. I might be tempted to put ppcs on a few mechs like the jester or k2 again. If only I could hit some thing other than invisible wall boxes, the ground or aim with them. sigh.

I hoping the new weapon systems might breath some life into my old Yen Lo Wang gathering dust in the mechbay. I wish they would give it a tech update pass.

The poor old thing cant run AMS, ECM and really only carries 3 weapons.

maybe 2 RAC5's in the arm and 2 heavy medium lasers in the CT.

I WILL drool if we get the rest of the IS UACS working like the UAC 5. Otherwise looking forward to the new machine guns, lasers and missiles. Hard to pick really. Besides.... MORE UACS! Ok RACS seems damn fun too.

To be honest, the melee in the new battletech game is what is making me not want to play it. I have been watching all these youtube vidoes and in nearly everyone of them, the teams close to short range and start punching each other. It is disgusting to see to be honest because why the frack would you want to punch or kick another mech when you have a perfectly good ER PPC to smack him in the face with. Melee with mechs was never more than a last resort type of combat that happened relatively rarely in the dozens of novels I have read. Mechs going around meleeing each other over and over and over isn't the Battletech I am looking for.

Hey, when is the last time you got to watch an Atlas punch something? Not a still image, a drawing, or a passage of text, but watch it happen in motion?


Back to topic... Heavy Gauss will be a Cyclops, Mauler, and maaaaybe a Grid Iron thing. Could do it on a Warhammer, but it would be quite slow (imagine a slow boomhammer). Anni and Nightstar, too...

But I see it as less utilitus than others do. Might make an okay dual HG assault with case in each ST though... Don't know yet about charge/recycle times.

Most excited - LFE's - if you can't make IS Brawlers that can wipe the floor with every clan mech you aren't trying.

MRM's - Just say Yes to 4xMRM 40 Stalker 3F - that's a 160 point alpha - 160...and no minimum range....Any mechs close to that now? Didn't think so, lets see how medium mechs we can kill in one shot....

Snub nose PPC's - a brawling energy weapon - My DS has been very patiently waiting....

Light Gauss - was one of my favorite weapons in TT - hopefully has 1200 base range.

Heavy Gauss - Atlas K has been waiting for this...

And - here's hoping PGI does their typical half-baked balance job and releases IS UAC's as single shot weapons, 2xUAC 20's that shoot a single slug each.....There will be no other weapon on the battlefield that comes close....You think 2xAC 20 Jagers are bad????

And RAC's - Want to see what a Rac 5/Rac 2 setup can do on a heavy metal - might be fun.

I too am patiently waiting to skill my IS mechs....

Spotted, a person who never played 3025 TT. Melee was the fastest way to kill an enemy mech, generated no heat and did nice consistent damage (except when you missed a kick and failed your psr.....)

I dunno about the snub ppc being a brawler weapon. It's probably going to have the same cooldown as a regular PPC and the heat isn't ideal. But it will be nice not to need a backup weapon when using them. Without having to go an ERPPC.

Im exited to try them all. I think in long run only Clan ATM will be any difference, along with LFE for my few IS mechs.

LFEs will be good, if quirks don't get touched.
HGauss, I expect between Mediocre and TErribad because of opportunity cost

RACs...TBD. Could be anything, if it's RNGeesus galore, or constant DPS (but extra facetime/less burst than UACs)




I look forward to Heavy Lasers and ATMs
Missiles which aren't hardcapped at 270M, but also aren't Terribad would be welcome. We'll see if I get both of those

I wonder what n MRM40 animation is going to look like...thats a lot of friggin missles going in a straight line.
What happens of 3-5-12 people fire all of those at once...heck my game sometimes crashs if srms start flying around too much.

I would never expect IS UAC's to be single shot weapons, but PGI has done some unexpected things over the years.....

Its not like UACs where you can rip off 2 shots and duck down, you gotta hold that sucker on target...and good luck if the target is moving...I don't think I want to be staring down a KDK-3 with uacs5/10. That's thanks to the guys whining on the forums for PGI to nerf it before it was released. A "proper" implementation would have the fire rate at 6x the standard AC class. Both would have around 18 DPS when converting to MWO stats. But that would be balanced with the spread, lackluster range, and a heat scale (every shot increases the next shot's heat by a little bit).
