So let me get this right; You took a year off of playing the game yet decided to stay quite active on these very forums on which the game is based, often times advocating for your dream mech the RoflmanIIC. Am I right so far?
If so then No. The next Clan 65 tonner should indeed the Arcas, which is both more original and sexier looking. Not to mention is a mech from the faction of the Clan that shares your Avatar. Sorry bro. This forum exists, because there is a game, not the other way around. Now of course you can keep up pining for the RFLmanIIC, I just don't really see how it should come from you, as your street cred is kinda low atm. I like ya man, it just don't seem right.

That’s what happened to Imperius, he finally got his Mad Cat MkII and bought it, but he no longer plays the game despite all his talk of pushing for the mech he wanted to play.

Nice bait bro. Nah, jokingly aside I lurk these forums because I love battletech and want the game to improve. I think alot of people are pushing the whole obsession of the Waffleman IIC out of proportion. Many people probably already forgot how many threads were made advocating the Mad Cat MK.2 (I'm looking at you Imperius) . Take it for what it's worth but I also love other mechs such as the Toyama, Executioner, Shadowhawk, and a few others almost to the same point as the Rifleman IIC.
I think the whole craze started when I was 6 years old, when my oldest brother had MW:2 on DOS installed on my grandparent's pc. Since I was horrible at video games at the time, I would often scroll down the mech list of all the mechs in the game just to hear the b*tching betty say all the different mech names. The Rifleman IIC stood out to me for some reason. I think it was largely due to the fact that I loved the visible gun barrels in first person when I piloted the mech. I would just click on the fire button and listen to the awesome sounds of the large pulse lasers firing off. I never got far in the game because the controls were too complex for me to understand at the time.
I think I ran around the house with my arms extended out mimicking the Rifleman IIC. My parents thought it was funny at the time. Thinking back on it, I sure was a strange child.
It was until all these years I revisited Mechwarrior 2 to really appreciate what I was playing at the time. After understand and doing my research on how mech customization system worked, I could really enjoy what Mechwarrior 2 and battletech was all about. So I thank solely Mechwarrior 2 for getting me into the franchise.
Getting back on topic, I could care less about "street credibility" especially on an online forum. If you want the Arcas, that's honestly fine by me and I take no offense to that. I personally think the mech looks like an ugly metal sumo wrestler but we are all entitled to our opinions. I think the Rifleman IIC would sell better since it appeals to a larger chunk of the fan base than the Arcas does. I got the word over to Russ months ago, and I feel that I've did everything in my power that I could of. If it gets in game, great. If it doesn't, then I move on in life.
The break I'm taking from MW:O is beyond me wanting the Rifleman IIC to get in game. It's more or less because my best friend is taking a long break and I've really had no one to enjoy the game with. I returned briefly during the Halloween event just to see how the Civil War era tech was and the new skill tree. I liked alot of the changes and I was disappointed by others. I'm planning to return once I see how the Harmony Gold case unravels later in 2018 and if I can justify throwing money at PGI again.

If it comes out, then I simply reinstall the game because I will most likely pre-order it. I really have no beef with PGI and I want them to be successful with Battletech. At the moment I'm in a love hate love state with the game. There are alot of things that I still absolutely love with MW:O. The greatest positive to me is how it feels as close to MW:2, while entirely being it's own game. It does a great job at being a mech simulator. Like many others here, I'm just tired and worn with the same repetitive arena shooter that we have currently. Battletech is a rich and expansive universe, and I feel that it's not fully being taken fully advantage of in MW:O.
It's probably the hope that the game will improve and seeing how things unravel is what keeps me checking up on the forums. If I didn't care about Battletech and Mechwarrior, I would have been gone years ago. A large chuck of my hope that remains is attributed to the possible arrival of the RFL-IIC and how many people want it according to Gas's poll.
I know alot of people jumped ship when they got their pet mechs in game such as Imperius. I think all he cares about now is moving onto MW5:Mercs and getting the MK.2 as a DLC if I remember correctly. I will most likely be around for MW:O after the RFL-IIC drops in game. I treat MW:O as I see it, a quick game where I can drop in a quick match with a few buds and (hopefully) enjoy my nostalgia that I had back so many years ago.

I saw this over at the Supreme Mech Commander battletech mod from awhile back. I believe someone did this as a place holder for the Rifleman IIC, since there is officially no in game model from MW:O. All of the other mech models like the Kodiak and Stormcrow were extracted from MW:O for their mod. I really hope the project updates this model since whenever I see an IS Rifleman with a clan circular radar dish on it's head, I scream heresy.
