I can sympathize a bit with you. I have made several mistakes that cost me real money since returning to MWO 18 months ago. Things like buying camo patterns and not realizing that there is a "One Shot" option, upgrading to a Kodiak collector pack for the Premium time with the intent of harvesting the engine, weapons and equipment, selling the Mech for C-Bills and keeping the Mech bay and then finding out that you cannot sell "special" variants. I once bought the wrong weapon module. I once sold a Mech before stripping it as I intended.

It sucks but in each and every one of these cases, it was I who made the mistake, was in too big a hurry and failed to read the pop up confirmations before finalizing the deal. I had to own the mistakes and move on. The safeguards are there. If we ignore them then bad stuff can happen.

Based on your previous posts, it sounds like you have been unhappy with the game for a while. Maybe it is time to find something that you enjoy more. Good luck to you.

Does losing the same customer 6 times equal 6 customers lost?

On topic, buying of SP could/should be done when you click save and don't have enough SP for the nodes you've selected, and then be limited to just enough SP to cover that node-purchase

The whole thing should have been build so it's impossible to add more than 91 points to any mech.

Don't blame you for being pissed at them.

This is as the title says poorly designed, and up to P.G.I's usual standard of weak

Um... you do know there are ~250 nodes, right?

Another way to look at it is that can actually buy 200 of the 237 nodes and freely (well with a little XP grinding anyway) experiment with almost any skill build that can be made. Honestly I fully expect that many of my mechs will end up with 130-150 points spent on them as I am already starting to second guess myself on some of the things I though were must have skills when the tree initially was release.

My EXE is a prime example, I just looked at the skill tree I chose and realized I skimped on firepower to invest in armor and while I think I made the right decision especially since my EXE feels tanky as hell, I am really curious if -3% heat gen, more range and more cooldown might not have been a better decision than going all in on armor. Eventually I am sure I am going to deactivate maybe up to 20 nodes in armor (and maybe elsewhere) and use them in Firepower just to see what the difference is and it won't be the only mech I will want to do with with I am sure.

So while it sucks that something happening that you didn't want to happen, I am not exactly sure that you wasted those SP.

I really hate the XP system in this game. It's one of those terrible things that you know a game that was sub based on single player would NEVER EVER have. It only exists this way so they can try and sell premium time. It's pathetic.

No offence Cathy but... This is why toasters come with a sticker on it recommending it not be used in the shower.

This then begs the question;

"Where was PGIs Sticker when I bought into the game?"

Lol, I wonder if he cancelled once and is still whining, or cancelled and preordered again every time. Seriously, it's impressive how egocentric the player can be, "I cancelled my preorders and PGI got scared and changed their mind", ffs.

That said, I could agree on the fact that current SP system is overcomplicated. You could just nuke the buying SP part, and unlock the nodes directly with XP or GXP. (Piggy can reduce cbills earnings a bit to compensate spending cbills on nodes)

I love how he always has new preorders to cancel :P

I can actually agree that the UI allowing you to accidentally add more than 91 points at the same time is bad design though.

200 GSP though, that's not much, so it seems a bit petty to cry about. I have more than 9500 left and I've mastered like 30 mechs with GSP already, I guess he didn't have a lot of modules or sold all of them before skill tree.

i don't understand why if I use, let say, 150 sp on a single mech that I then need to use GXP or XP in order to rearrange the nodes...

If I have invested the SP then let me just change nodes as I see fit with no penalty.

this is a symptom of the cart before horse checkout method the skill tree uses. i dont get why you have to allocate your points before you assign them, this really needs to be combined into one step to prevent you from doing what the op did. you should never be able to assign more than whats needed to complete mastery. i almost did this once and ended up just hitting alt-f4 to get out of it.

i also think its pretty low that pgi wont reverse it. everyone should get one free screwup.
