well if IS large laser has a burn time thats the same as the clan small laser its just funny how a long range weapon has the same beam duration as a short range 200m weapon brawl weapon wich should be dps... and... even more laughable the IS large pulse laser has lower burn time .... a long range dps weapon than the clan er small .... well that just make sense in terms of gameplay lore tech science ballance logic ...

yes and no, it's not a total picture, nor is every stat listed in a given measurement, heat efficiency is the primary stat i would argue for that is missing updates after quirks and skills get added.

You can still do this, but it is not quite as flexible. If you save your LOADOUT (not skills) you can mouse over individual weapons under Weapon Groups and see their specific bonuses (this is a combination of quirk and skill bonuses):

Granted it would be *GREAT* if you didn't have to save your loadout before getting this so you could do the ENTIRE loadout + skills in theory before committing a single cbill/skill point...

...because the next step is to make that all possible before you even BUY the mech. Right now you can mock up loadouts from the store, but you can't mock skills unless you own the mech.

Mostly looking out to this update. My Cheetah was too powerful, and a 33% reduction in damage output still makes it viable. I'm not concerned about my Nova either, as I had already exchanged the SPL for ERML and small lasers, which is just as viable. I feel the silent nerf to IS Spl isn't that good of an idea, but it's minor compared to the clan anyway. I feel the gargoyle and Executioner will suffer the most, that relied on their speed and short range high damage stomps to annihilate and lead on their assaults. They already were niche mechs that received very little love over the past year, and this might just put them to the grave.

We'll see about the Exe and Garg since they *might* (sorry my theorycrafting hat is off) benefit for new tech, being able to boat new weapons.

i dont have either of those, but their problem is more a lack of tonnage than of hardpoints, right? so they will certainly profit from weapons like light ppc and gauss, but so will every other mech in the game. heavy laser vomit will be no option, simply because they lack tonnage, iirc.

That's patently untrue. I have every past hero in game and at no point do I ever consider I can use a IS hero mech in a clan drop deck or vice versa. For the last rotation I've been aligned to IS and completely unable to use any Clan mech at all in Faction warfare. Ultimately PGI decide what can and cannot be used, in this case they've clearly decided the events should be standard mechs only. Whether you agree or not try not to spout totally incorrect information.

It's not untrue at all. Faction Warfare is a specific PLAY MODE. You can use whichever mechs you own as well as the trial mechs, and you self limit by choosing a side. PGI does not say that you cannot use a specific type of mech in that play mode.

You are correct. If the Executioner could drop those mostly useless jump jets, you could free up 8 tons. Being able to drop MASC would free up another 4 tons. Hard locking those components into the EXE really hosed the mech. At the least, you could run dual uac20 if you could remove those. The best build before this nerf that I could come up with was 10 cSPLAS and 2 cERLLAS, on which I did over 1000 dmg in a match, 4 kills 7 assist, while averaging about 600 in a normal match. That sure as hell ain't gonna happen no mo. Sure as sure. As it stands now, you have to shave armor off the legs to just get 25 tons of space available on an 95 ton mech, 26 tons if you are daring. 38 tons would be much more easy to work with.

Now with the Gargoyle, it's because it has a 400XL in it and less viable hardpoints and less versatile hardpoints. It's mainly a thunderfist mech, with only two variants having hardpoints in the CT. It's extremely hard to make a build that is viable without boating lasers. And with the Orion IIC, Night Gyr, and Timberwolf just 5 tons lighter, or the Marauder IIC and Warhawk just 5 tons heavier, all with better hardpoints or better hardwired engines, it's really hard to want to even run the GAR unless you enjoy the fast thunderfist brawling / flanking cSPLAS build. If the GAR had side torsos with two missile hardpoints in each, you'd have a really versatile mech at that point. As it stands now, you have to shave armor off the legs to just get 20 tons of space available on an 80 ton mech, 21 tons if you are daring.

I think they did a good job with the lasers. Heck the cspl had dps higher than most ML and close to LL. This also makes room for the new tech. Heavy smalls will rule the day for all you who still want small laser madness!!

This is so much bull****. You are telling me weapons with longer ranges should have a higher DPS? Really? Less risk, more reward?

Comp Mode:

I can only send Team Invites from the "Friends" tab, and not the "Unit" tab. Seems kind of silly.

I can't re-order the team roster?

Hey guys,

How are the lazors now with the "death of all pew pew wub wub"?

Is it as woefully dramatic as the forum'S QQ prophesied?

I'll only be able to test them tomorrow so... wished to get a first reaction with people who actually played with them :)

Mmm so we are back again to square 1 with pulse lasers, they weight more, have less range and now do less damage Posted Image. If they are gonna do less damage make them have little heat output.

Rubbish they clearly lay out that I can use one side of my mechs in that entire mode aka I can't use ANY clan mech when playing IS and vice versa.
