Quite possibly. Not in the solo PUG queue, however, or most other anything goes drops (the majority of game time we participate in). In the solo PUG queue, it is damn hard sometimes to get into firing range.

Not the the cSPL, but the new isSPLs
Still pretty bad, but half the cost

Nova can bring 12/14 (see GH values for 2 ~safe salvos) along with 24 DHS
It will do that at lower heat than SPLs


He'll be able to fire for a long while with potentially similar DPS (significantly weaker Alpha, but also a lower cooldown)

Not only that, to LESS than the Sphere power level! The cSPL was gimped hard
The isSPL was moderately gimped, but he WAS ALREADY BAD

It should have received a BUFF
That's what all this confusion is about
cSPL should have gotten A nerf, probably damage to 5, and a buff somewhere else
Reduce the LOLpha, maybe a larger Ext range (also meaning more damage in a match)

This is a good point, but it made the weapon worth taking
1 MPL VS 2 SPLs sort of thing

Right now:
Dam 12 VS 8
Heat 6 VS 6
Range 165 VS 3xx somethinganother

So, trading range for damage

Soon™
Dam 8 VS 7.5
Heat 6 VS 5
Range 165 VS 330M (I checked it)


So, now for roughly HALF the range, you get marginally more damage for MORE HEAT
Yeah...how about no?

So do I. Which means, like me, you should have 90% of your games being ones in which your team hides and never tries to push the enemy team. Which means if you want to get up close you have to do it solo or wait until the entire enemy team crashes into your LRM Assaults and worthless Heavies who seemingly are trying to aim with a joystick.

But hey, no worries. Now we'll all just slap on ERLLs (which have the same duration as cSLs, lol) and play HideWarrior at 800+ meters. Good luck maneuvering your (now) 32 point alpha Linebacker through the rave beams, buddy. Posted Image

That is the point.

They want to sell new weapon-tech which is not needed, so they nerf the ones you have to make you buy.



And second is to reduce dps and alpha in close combat. This will make me feel better because i will live longer and have more time to aim my deadly shots. I have great tactical plans that will work out if i just would live 20 seconds longer!

It will be a hard month or two until we see the full picture but today i got a bad feeling.

It helps when you use a mic and coordinate with your team. It seems to work out more often than not.

I am concerned that the clan ER Small laser did not get a damage reduction like all the other lasers did. So now the ER small does more damage per shot than the Pulse laser version.

I wouldn't be too worried, given that PGI is using the IS SL as the baseline we can expect much further smacking for the CERSL.

To be honest, the Clan ER Med duration nerf just brings them back to where they were before -10% laser duration gained from the skill tree.

Before skill tree = 1.15 seconds
After skill tree = 1.035 seconds
After 1.25 duration nerf = 1.125 seconds

The only problem is that Clans have to spend those skill points to get back the duration they had previously, and the ER Med won't be synced so well with Clan Large Pulse anymore.
