Maybe we should fix clan space magic then. MAD IIC's speed is not the (main) reason why it's one of the best assaults.

Then you get the problems of people complaining "but ma Clan superioritaah".

Giving clan mechs worse mobility sets a dangerous precedent. Will Mad Cat MKII have mobility of a 100 ton mech? Will 80t WHM IIC with 350-400 engine be just as slow too? PGI are basically saying: "You can keep your OP mechs, we'll just rise skill ceiling in regards to mech positioning so that only good players can stomp and bads are left to suffer." Just balance the goddamn tech.

MC MkII will likely be between Supernova and Warhawk. WHM-IIC will likely never be in the game, but if it does it may be around the original, while slightly less mobile, because of that flavor of it "they were able to add ten tons with the same speed" -Sarna.

Doesn't help that PGI insists on releasing clan mechs with god hardpoints and god hitboxes while giving the IS mediocre crap. I haven't seen a Javelin since launch. Or an Assassin. Or a Roughneck(other than mine).

Oh really? Just look at the Battlemaster or the Banshee, and name a Clan assault mech that has as many high-mounted energy hardpoints as those two while having a comparable mobility profile.

Two IS mechs, whoopie. Compared to how many Clan mechs that have yet to be released that could directly compete against, or even over perform against those two IS mechs?

Answer me that chuckles.

There have been been those mechs, believe me there are Javelins and Assassins out there, quite a bit actually.

You mean mechs so old that they're in the mastery packs? That was what, years ago? You're smoking crack. And don't worry, the Nova Cat is on the way. Not like clan laser vomit has ever been lacking anyways. Laser Ebon Jags are amazing right now.

And how does being old make them any worse? Let me put it this way: if I could trade all my Clan assaults for a single Clan version of BNC-3M, BLR-2C or BLR-1G (if such a version existed), I would do so with no second thoughts, and would never look back.

Errr... Are you seriously suggesting that we speculate about mechs that could potentially be released in some distant future?

yeah i got one too but im not voicing anything before i didnt test it.
some things get better, some get worse, the life and times of a online game.
everyone knows it, you can expect it that the best things get toned down a bit, worst get buffed.

if you dont even get that you shouldnt be able to actually leave a damn comment here.
its obvious that a mad-IIC stands a bit out of line. so it gets downed a bit.

i was actually quite surprised that someone mentioned the banshee since its one hell of a bad mech atm lol (high hardpoints arent everything. if u only look at that... meng.... take a bloody stalker and forget the banshee.). disqualified by itself. battlemaster (especially the 2g or c? dunno atm) need a nerf as well. everyone with a non-biased opinion can see that.

as much i can see ppl loving those mechs, hell i wish i had something like the gargoyle on IS but then we have a victor (which is doing OK just now, but no comparison to a gargoyle) and a zeus.
lolz by itself. or a hellbringer. (uac20 + 6slas at nearly 90kph speed with ecm? ye gimme dat.)

im kinda amazed that people forget about the warhawk totally. such a good mech.

fact is, one cant have it all. and never will.
you can cry about it or just start to think about it and adjust.
and all i see are tears.
an awful lot of bloody tears.

So you admit that clan tech is so superior that it trumps optimal hardpoints and quirks? Because you're ready for the switch only after they have clan tech.

Yes I am.

If you want Clan laser vomit mechs, then start campaigning for mechs like the Blood Asp, Hellstar, Warhammer IIC and the Rifleman IIC for example. It worked for Imperius, finally getting his Mad Cat Mk II.

There's four mechs right there that could probably out laser vomit the Banshee and Battlemaster you seem all torn up about.

Your whole attitude stinks of "The IS actually has a couple GOOD MECHS~?! OMGWTFBBQ~?! NERFNOWPLOX~!"

Make those bloody tears extra thick at that. I made one post on it all and it wasn't even about the mechs, it wasn't even a very serious one at that either.

Games change, and people will have to adapt. We may not like the changes, and we can hope they can be changed, but that's about it.

No, I'm simply a Clan loyalist, and as such I don't play IS tech Posted Image I would happily take any of those three mechs "as is" if there was some way to convert them to, say, "salvaged tech" or something like that, i.e. to make them count as Clan mechs for all intents and purposes.

Then you got me wrong. I was simply responding to Kiran Yagami's statement that "PGI insists on releasing clan mechs with god hardpoints and god hitboxes while giving the IS mediocre crap". I pointed out two IS assault mechs with god hardpoints, and asked him to name at least one Clan assault mech with a similar hardpoint layout and a comparable mobility profile. I'm still waiting for a response Posted Image

And for the record - I would NEVER advocate nerfing well-performing mechs. I've always said that the proper way to balance the game is to look at the top performers, and then try to bring all other mechs up to their level. Unfortunately, PGI likes to take the opposite approach - take the worst performing mechs as the baseline, and bring everything else down to their level.

I would like them to bring the other weapons up than to gimp a weapon system down or chassis down.

i just fed my kodiak through a training session. doesnt feel slow. jesus at what stuff ppl are comlainin about. its a damn 100 ton mech! ofc it should be slow! just because PGI made it way too good from the getgo (how it played with an XL 400 was completely wrong, WAY TOO MOBILE for such a mech)

it has an godawful torso pitch tho.

i would actually put a lower engine in it and get some tonnage free i guess. didnt work it out because i barely played it anyway. just let me say this.... whenever a mech is able to do 1700 dmg (and i done that myself and watched it happen too many times...) it needs to get a nerfhammer. a complete one. then get it back up and see where it lands.

Here is the truth to the Marauder IIC Issue.

- At launch, it was one of the most deadly Assaults in the game, and took the top spot for any Assault less than 100 tons. It was a Clan Battlemech with very good hardpoints on some variants and an absurdly strong hero.
- Warhawk owners were mad that their mechs didn't come close to the MAD IIC's performance and options. These players were reminded that the Warhawk was an Omnimech by MAD IIC owners and Omnimechs have superior attributes of their own. Somehow.
- PGI did nothing involving the issue all the way until the mech went up for CBills and the Skill Tree / Engine Decouple because they wanted people to spend real money on them for a profit, Warhawk owners included.
- The Skill Tree / Engine Decouple from Agility landed. The mech was nerfed down to the same level as a Stalker. Players were still able to have the mech perform at an acceptable level by means of the tree and adjusting their play with it. It wasn't as good as it once was, but it was still a fair choice. The Warhawk's agility now placed it as a desirable alternative for players wanting a more nimble 85 ton Clan mech.

- The Madcat MK II is coming up for launch. It is a 90 ton Clan battlemech with superior hardpoint locations over the MAD IIC. PGI are looking at MAD IIC owners much in the same way as they looked at Warhawk owners when the MAD IIC launched. They want to provide a reason for players with mechs in a similar tonnage range and type (Clan) to spend real money on the new product.
- The MAD IIC is eating a further mobility nerf to provide the needed reason for players to buy the new mech, and PGI profits. The Madcat MK II will have a mobility profile that is superior to either the MAD IIC or Warhawk at launch. PGI will defend it as 'balanced' until 'more time is needed' to collect data on its performance.
- When the Madcat MK II is available for Cbills, the nerfs to put it where it belongs will finally land.

I'm not supporting this anymore. People that do are fools. This is the very definition of a money grab and a corrupt company.

Because you're pointing out, "SEE THEY RELEASED GOOD IS MECHS!" from a time when only IS mechs existed. Meanwhile, clan mechs with amazing hardpoints keep on coming, while all the latest IS mechs are garbo. PGI even gave the Nightstar a horrible engine cap. Well, we almost had a decent mech.

Out of the recently released Clan mechs, the ones that really stand out due to their good hardpoints, available tonnage, support for meta builds etc. are the Kodiak, Night Gyr and Marauder IIC. The Kodiak is already in the dumpster, and the Night Gyr and Marauder IIC will follow it in less than a day. Everything else is mediocre at best. I mean, you're not going to claim that mechs like the Linebacker, Viper or Supernova are amazing, are you?
