But...
ARE YOU F***ING SERIOUS?!!!
That better be a god damn mistake. There is absolutely no reason to play that mech if it can't face tank at least a bit. Even with the armor quirks its easy to disarm (literally...take off its arms). Without its armor quirks it goes from a Tier 5 mech to not playable for any reason.

PGI, -ahem- do you play the game? Hmm? Regardless, I assume that you realize that the IV-4 is widely viewed as one of the worst mechs in the game and by many as thee worst heavy. Did you know that? Well its true.
Did you also know that it has 2 ballistics mounts (one in each arm) and 2 M mounts (1 in each torso) and 2 E mounts both in its chest. That's it. Not a lot of variety or potential for decent builds on that 60 ton mech. Now here is the best part: YOU, yes YOU gave it cool down quirks in an effort to make it a viable mech. You did that! Yay for you. Now, what does it need to do in order to take advantage of those cooldown quirks? Well, It needs to be able to face tank so as to shoot its more rapidly cooling guns, otherwise what is the point of the cooldown quirks that you gave this pos? Without a bit of armor to help with that activity, this lowest of low mechs looses its arms -and its main guns- within a few seconds. Even with those quirks it lost them in just a few more. You created this mess and you most recent effort toward "balance" is to make this POS even worse!!
Sigh.
I know you don't care.
I know, you think you know best, and that your twisted understanding of this game is beyond question.
But PGI, there is a reason your player base considers the IV-4 to be crap that apparently is beyond your understanding. So next time let us help you understand BEFORE you do this sort of thing ok? Because without that understanding, you just made what is beyond question one of your crappier mechs still even crappier; without notice, comment or apparent reason.
I really can't wait to read your justification for this. New tech? Is that the answer? MRMs and rotary AC2s are going to make this mech competitive all of a sudden? Is that it? Really?

I posted on the townhall thread too. So hopefully.
I've put a lot into this game. And I've watched them wreck most of what I have enjoyed about it. Yet I still supported it and them. I gave them the benefit of the doubt even when they have proven that they don't deserve it. But I swear this...this of all things...might be the last f***ing straw.

Did anyone check to see if they nerfed the Pretty Baby? I hope so - there's a danger somebody might play the worst version of the worst assault mech in the game, and that would clearly be too powerful!
Ah, PGI will PGI...

You're not wrong. I think this was a nerf and they simply didn't bother with mentioning it. It is in keeping with thier we hate quirks, except for those we don't, view that they are espousing at the moment. My guess is that they want more distinction between the uber armor of the Dragon vs the uber mobility of the Quickdraws and since the IV-4 is in fact garbage rather than just removing the armor they switched it to structure. Despite the assertions above. I don't see this as a mistake (I still hold out hope) but I fear that it is intended. They did this on purpose.

For more than 2 years I log in nightly after the kids are off-line. Every night that I could, I played. When I had spare cash I threw some at them. I bought stuff, I sponsored contests, I looked forward to the game, the forums, all of it.
Even when PGI has utterly shafted things,...when they killed CW with Phase 3. When they broke the mini-map. When the Arctic Cheetah was bullet proff and the Black Jack an assault. I still looked forward to playing.
But this...this nerfing of one of the worst mechs....but also one of my favorite mechs, has caused me to not have even the remotest desire to log in a play. Silly I know. But there it is. I hope this doesn't last. Cuz I do enjoy this game an awful lot. Oh well.

During the testing phase prior to the release of the Skill Tree we had a bug associated with mismatching Weapon Quirks on the QKD-IV4, an issue which was fixed prior to the release of the patch. Unfortunately, this fix resulted in the Armor Quirks being replaced with Structure Quirks due to a discrepancy in the Quirk source documentation.
The replacement of Armor Quirks on the QKD-IV4 with Structure Quirks was not intended. A fix for this is slated to be included in a hot-fix, currently expected to arrive later this week.
Apologies for the surprise Quirk change on this one.

Oh thank god. I don't even own the IV-4 but I know it didn't deserve this. Thanks for the update on that.
